New shinny thread here!

It was good focused on women tonight I'm glad Patrick has been supportive. Good show Denise wants a future though not sure how they will write he it. Rather odd we never seen her read a book ever before and suddenly she's amazing. Maybe she be some author in next 10years??

Was bugging me she was doing Denise shopping. she only has to walk across the square. I'm sure even BGP could walk that far! If getting lean down steps would be difficult she could use special no atep access you know like when Donna pops over!

Not sure how Roxy had bloke over in the newly refurbished Phils attic rooms. So that what 5 bedrooms?

Also unrealistic that let Amy walk across the square on her own to her mums! Will Roxy buy tiny place? Not sure what her life goals are, can see living it up every night and new bloke every week fine on your early 20s but she's wrong side of 35. It's not going carry on forever!

Is Denise doing GCSE English to access further education or does she think her GCSES is going to give her access to her brave new world? Which is what it sounded like last night.

dingdongdigeridoo · 09/12/2016 09:20

I don't think she's mentioned uni or anything. It's nice that she's doing an English GCSE, but it's not going to open any opportunities unless she does further study.

She's got retail experience. She could go work in any of London's big shopping areas and probably earn more. Knowing EE she'll probably become a market inspector or manager of the launderette or something.

Akire · 09/12/2016 09:45

The way she was talking was amazing chances coming her way. Well let's see she gets an A English. Will she go to uni come September? Unlikely but some courses may take her with no qualifications and all debt that takes. Or access you or year or two doing a - levels then a degree.

Considering how they are always broke it's a massive risk of debt at her age but stranger things have happened!

It annoyed me when Martin said to Roxy that it was pretty much her fault the bloke she slept with had been thrown out by his wife. He was the one that was married, not her. Even if she had asked him if he was married, he could have denied it.

I don't think Denise will give the baby up for adoption in the end, it will be too hard for her. Phil needs something to live for.

Was hoping Jane would get up and walk to help Ian, thought she had been secretly practising after that scene with Masood a couple of weeks ago. Poor Stacey, she will never unsee Ian naked.Blush

ineedamoreadultieradult · 09/12/2016 10:40

Surely the practical thing would be throw him some jogging bottoms round the door which he could put on in the bath then help him out. But I don't think they bother with practicalities like that in EE.

Akire · 09/12/2016 13:40

I know Stacey hardly the shy type. I mean throw him towel then don't look as you get him up. Then new towel. It was stupid Martin is across the road Stacey could stood there for 5min.

I'm guessing Denise baby will cone early have a touch n go crisis the whole was it me I didn't want you emotional turmoil then will keep.

Stacey and Martin haven't mentioned tree or presents what with that and paying rent so that will be fun. Was bugging me Lee is able to put on happy face in pub yet couldn't do it on wedding night.

I feel for Denise, Patrick may be supportive now but I bet he changes his mind when the kid is born and will beg her to change her mind.
I actually think she has made the right decision for her - why be a miserable mum and go through the motions if you really do not want to?
( don't mean to upset anyone on here and I know its just a soap..)
heartbreaking though - I like denise.
Roxy's decision - to move away again? has she ever made any other decisions? No wonder Donna looked fed up - she is a liability and its a wonder she has kept her job - however, good for her for having a go at Jack and Ronnie- biggest hypocrites going those two! both of them wind me up. at least her sister has never murdered anyone. a good episode I thought although I wish the lee story wasn't still dragging on.

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 09/12/2016 14:22

I always get disproportionately angry at soaps when someone is making a decision about their own life, where they are the ones most affected, and their family get all indignant and try to talk to them round. So Denise and the baby, and when Peggy wanted to take the morphine, etc. It's their bloody lives feck off!

The80sweregreat · 09/12/2016 15:42

corporal, yes, they all do get really invested in each others lives don't they? Patrick isn't even her dad , just a close friend and Kim must has her life with invisible Vincent and pearl.
I would hate to live that close to my family as they do in soaps!

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 09/12/2016 15:48

Can understand the investment to some extent but it's the selfishness! Grant and Phil ignoring Peggy when she was dying - I'm sure things were bad enough for her already without them sulking. And then Phil did the same thing himself when he wouldn't get the transplant!

The80sweregreat · 09/12/2016 16:21

Was I the only one to not like the toy that Patrick bought for the new baby? it was so weird with the merry go round pole like that and not a normal rocking horse. Why would you want that sat there for a year or so till the child could actually go on it?
He means well, but I wouldn't want it hanging around.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 09/12/2016 17:31

DH who apparently doesn't watch the soaps was away with work. He text me as soon as the horse thing came on TV saying 'what's a baby going to do with that!'

Akire · 09/12/2016 18:21

Exactly! She has one babygrow no pram no cot but let's get a stupid toy they never play with!

That's the end of the week cliffhanger? Zzzz.

iknowimcoming · 09/12/2016 20:53

Are we supposed to be shocked that it's not Bex who is left feeling vulnerable it's in fact Shaki? Also Kathy hears laughing and assumes that two people, neither of whom can stand properly, are having sex, and runs and hides - really?

Akire · 09/12/2016 20:57

No now we have 3 weeks of him wondering if his performance was good enough! They be at it again Canel will find out and go mad. Guessing by storming over in middle of Xmas lunch and telling Her father YAWN

LineyReborn · 09/12/2016 21:00

It is now so badly written and directed I think they may as well let Denise have a go.

JustAnotherSadOldNumber · 10/12/2016 02:44

place marking

mrswhiplington · 10/12/2016 10:30

Glad I'm not the only one who didn't like that rocking horse. It was weird. Looked like it would be really uncomfortable.

I agree about Denise writing the script for EE, couldn't do any worse at the moment. Getting fed up of Carmel gushing over her sons, she treats them like they're five years old.

It's nice to see Stacey having a more lighthearted role with Ian and Jane. We need more of this and less of cringe making Shaki and Bex.

MrsJayy · 10/12/2016 11:16

The teen Dd is turning inside out with the cringe at the shaki & Bex story she had her head in her hands when kush was having the chat,

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/12/2016 13:11

Poor Stacey seeing Ian. But yes she could have gone to the square /cafe /pub and found a man

They all work and live local 😂😂

Jane said she was still good at some things - I imm thought blow jobs

But was playing cards

And poor shaki. Tho was funny sorry

Well done roxy for saying that to jack. Should have said 2 sisters and a cousin

What is the cat thing?

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 10/12/2016 16:26

Grin at Jack's pullover. I think Honey knitted it for him.

Poor Shaki will develop body dismorphia after Carmel telling him he's all skin and bone and Bex and Louise giggling. EE have never done an anorexia or similar storyline. I'm cringing at all the sex conversations Bex and Shaki are having with their family. I would have rather chewed my arm off than tell my stepmum my sex plans at that age. Confused

Agree, Ian could have covered himself with a small flannel towel rather than flashing all at Stacey or even some strategically placed foam.

Fatboy has been reincarnated as the mystery cat and is wandering about the square looking for Dot.

JustAnotherSimpleOldNumber · 10/12/2016 17:03

I'm suprised we didn't have an episode of everyone putting their decorations up.
