New shinny thread here!

Whitney still thinks Lee is some big shot CEO when he barely makes any sales. He took out loan in line but that's yet to bite his backside.

Somehow his work mates robbed Vic and were supposed give him cut but later didn't because he didn't go home in time. We don't know fully how or why he set up. It's confusing

Cassandra (from only fools) was crap director

Thank you!! That's where I recognized her from. Grin

Akire · 06/12/2016 21:50

Amazing summary Akire, thank you Flowers
As I suspected, EE has become duller than dishwater.

Must say, I am impressed with Denise's Shakeskearean talents. Who knew that taking GCSE English for three months would lead to such dizzy literary heights?

Akire · 06/12/2016 21:56

That's ok my life is dull lol

Oh and yes no Xmas decorations in square as council refused and Ian and Mik didn't want to as Ian tried take all credit last year. We cabtvhave a Xmas without a tree to look at or fight under/to zoom in on on Xmas day so at some point someone will have to fund it.

My bet is on Cathy play will be roaring success and raise money for tree. Or Ian will have personality transplant and pay for it because Jane will take a step or something

EnidButton · 06/12/2016 22:00

I've got an Eng Lit degree. I'm expecting Spielberg on the phone at any moment begging me to write his next script.

Denise is now Eastenders version of Ken Barlow. Her and Jonny Sausage, the only people still living in Walford who have read a book.

Excellent summary, thank you. Is Libby back for good now?

lozengeoflove · 06/12/2016 22:03

No tree, the travesty!
Did I see Ian try to do some sex talk with Jane? And was Mick hand holding his efforts?

Akire · 06/12/2016 22:04

Libby was back for week it was all lentils and healthy crap. Denise's mentioned about her getting on with own life after she had resigned from job/studying for a year. She's not been in it for few weeks so not sure if she went back or not

OP posts:
lozengeoflove · 06/12/2016 22:04

Enid, I wish you would write a script. It appears that GCSE English students are doing it as some sort of an outreach programme BBC have clearly instigated.

LineyReborn · 06/12/2016 22:05

What in the name of baby cheeses is going on with the Lee At Work story? I made OH watch it and he's none the wiser, he wants to know if Danny-Boy Hatchard actually thinks that is acting or if he just can't be arsed.

Whitney and her laugh are ridiculous. Ronnie and Jack are ridiculous. Aaaaagh.

Akire · 06/12/2016 22:17

What bugs me about Lee story line is why would his work friends want to go in on the job, when they are obviously more successful than him. Why would you risk prison time for £1200 hardly living changing amount.

Plus they work flogging insurance or contracts. Plenty of time to find out who lives where, what job they do, what goods they have and when going to be out. So why would you rob the Vik?

Take it Lee not cared about scarying his family even though they are very close or his brothers. But Whitneys upset over letting Ollie go is to much to bear and will crush him. Yawn

OP posts:
Emz449 · 06/12/2016 22:22

Whitney has become seriously irritating with the giggle! She always seemed very savvy so I'm surprised she's being this stupid

Optimist1 · 06/12/2016 22:50

Up to tonight I'd always thought Jack was just a wooden sort of bloke who puts it about a bit, but he was deeply unpleasant today - to both Roxy and Ronnie. They're not my favourite characters but I really felt for Roxy and could see why she ended up having a knee trembler in the alley with random bloke. Xmas Hmm

DeleteOrDecay · 06/12/2016 22:54

I don't get the Lee Burglary either. Why would his colleagues 'help' him like that? They don't seem to like him much, unless they intended all along to do it and then keep the money for themselves as a way to screw him over. It would have been helpful to have had a quick scene beforehand where we see Lee asking them for a favour or talking to someone on the phone or something.

I also found the scene where one of them took the baby very upsetting. Not sure if it's because I have a dc who is around the same age as Ollie or what, but I struggled to watch itSad of it were me I would have locked myself and the child in the bathroom.

LineyReborn · 06/12/2016 23:01

Yes, why on earth would they risk serious prison time for aggravated burglary?

MrsJayy · 06/12/2016 23:10

I think they rob other places from addresses at work Lee clocked bully boys watch last week swanky thing it was not something he could afford on london energy company wages this is where its heading I think they will get caught Lee will go down. Btw its not a spoiler justme thinking and hoping story ends soon

DeleteOrDecay · 06/12/2016 23:18

You could be onto something there Mrsjayy. Either way the story has GOT to come to a head by new year at the latest. It's gone on for long enough.

EnidButton · 06/12/2016 23:19

Grin Lozenge

Thanks Akire Cake

Akire · 07/12/2016 00:03

That would be great eh mrsjay then Whitney could go live in Milton Keynes. The end! She's had some great story lines over years but she's wasted now. All those years of training and making something of herself for what?

I wonder if Becks will get drunk over Xmas and then get pregnant. It's all been new technology and porn pics very 2016 then she fall for oldest problem in the book! If he's anything like his brother there's no hope.

It's going be quiet if Ronnie Roxy jack and herd of kids also go. Plus les Pam who else has gone in last 6m, been quite a few.

OliviaBensonOnAGoodDay · 07/12/2016 00:17

I forgot about Phil smashing up the car lot til Ben mentioned it in his drunk rant. That was hilarious. I had to YouTube it.

mrswhiplington · 07/12/2016 11:21

Phil really did look like a sick old man walking down the street (apart from patchy jaundice). Can't wait for him to find out about the baby, should perk him up no end.Grin

Love Kim and her dodgy shoes, she really needs to be in the show more. Just seems to have bit parts. Hope Lee gets his comeuppance over burglary soon, really bored of storyline. Hope he ends up in prison. I'm full of the Christmas spirit today.Smile

iknowimcoming · 07/12/2016 11:40

I love Kim too, such a shame she doesn't get a bigger story. Thinking about it the whole driving licence thing was another damp squib wasn't it? Big hoo ha over her parking ticket/disabled badge misuse then revealed she hasn't got a valid licence, everyone bets she will/won't pass her test, passes test, then falls down stairs and breaks her arm! I mean really, call that a story?

Jane and Ian were Christmas shopping weren't they? I presume he's put his back out so he can go and do panto? Characters are dropping like flies, I wonder if they are fed up the new format too?

I agree the Lee thing is ridiculous, it's like fill in the blanks yourself to make the stories work properly. Makes it uncomfortable to watch. Might have defect to Corrie at this rate Confused. They are going to need to do something amazing at Xmas to pull it back from the brink imo.

Rustythedog · 07/12/2016 13:29

Lee's story is quite hard to watch. I suppose it is different as you can imagine how easily any of us could get into debt and it can spiral so quickly. Usually EE storylines are OTT and unrealistic. I think that is why the Jay storyline is hard to watch too. I presume Billy is not doing the accounts for the funeral parlour or he'd have noticed the missing money by now. I don't understand the big story about the death of the schoolchild either. It isn't nice and it seems very random.

Somebody said upthread the Bex and Shaki storyline was like a public announcement. I totally agree and think it is more like a storyline for Home&Awsy!

Why is Stacey sitting in the Vic with Shirley, Linda, Jane etc? Surely she is far too young?

Ronnie seems to have changed personality. She was a feisty businesswoman. Now she talks about school runs and school runs and school runs.

I like Roxy and feel very sorry for her. At least she is conquering her fear of men after horrible Dean.

Agree Kim and Vincent are under-utilised. Vincent has gone from hiding a body in the basement to not doing anything at all.
