SCD 2016 #7 - They're! In! Blackpool! The spiritual home of ballroom dancing, donkey rides, rock and... huge amounts of theming apparently?

The last thread is almost full, so I thought we'd be prepared.

Despite the title I do love the Blackpool week really Grin Fingers crossed for a nice ballroom dance from the pros.

We used to go to Blackpool regularly for business and I always found it quite 'menacing' of an evening , particularly when the illuminations are on , really not a pleasant experience . Greg was definitely robbed and Claudia was overmarked originally , I don't think the decision is based on the dance off at all .

Runny · 21/11/2016 16:49

Blackpool is notoriously rough at night. Full of pissed up stag and hens and other thuggish louts. No way would you catch me out on the town there after about 10pm. Well 9pm even. It's bad enough during the day!

digerd · 21/11/2016 17:54

Hoping to see IT2 on iplayer as don't think I can get it on live on-line.
I hope Greg is over his melt down as I don't want to be in tears again seeing him break down in tears like last night. Sad.

YvaineStormhold · 21/11/2016 18:40

They nearly won't say it 😮

NoahVale · 21/11/2016 18:42

agog

digerd · 21/11/2016 19:11

I missed it as it was shown live. Did Greg appear and how was he?

Horsemad · 21/11/2016 21:48

Shock Yvaine, what happened on IT2?

CondensedMilkSarnies · 21/11/2016 23:12

I've just watched ITT on I player Shock

TheSpottedZebra · 21/11/2016 23:19

What happened on ITT ?

ComputerDog · 21/11/2016 23:25

Shock Confused What happened??? Really want to watch it now but have work tomorrow. Relying on you lot!

ChoccyJules · 21/11/2016 23:25

Will someone tell us what happened please?!

ElspethFlashman · 21/11/2016 23:41

Jesus, you'd swear one of them had just been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Hmm

Redcrayons · 21/11/2016 23:48

It was just more of the same from Saturday.

They'd worked so hard, Greg was a non dancer, friends for life. She had her head on his shoulder during the best bits. Tears all round, You'd think Greg was going off to war.
Natalie also did a quite pointed 'thanks To our partners for being so supportive'

It was a bit OTT, considering they didn't actually win.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 21/11/2016 23:51

Natalie said "I'll be in your life forever now" in a slightly creepy very earnest way... Grin

I only watched the first few minutes of their interview. They sounded as if someone had died, so I switched it off!

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 22/11/2016 00:14

Didn't see the show, just watched that clip. If they're friends for life what's all the crying and gushing about? Okay, the daily contact and routine of Strictly are over but can't they just, erm, keep
In touch?

ilovesooty · 22/11/2016 00:41

Natalie has always been my favourite female pro but I've felt her to be over invested and uncomfortably intense this year.

DiegeticMuch · 22/11/2016 00:48

Natalie was so OTT. I'm surprised Greg wasn't irritated.

YvaineStormhold · 22/11/2016 03:08

There was a point after the VT where they did a fist bump and moved towards each other then stopped themselves. DP and I both went,"Nearly!"

She said "I love you."

Sat with her head on his shoulder.

I'm sure they are both very nice people who love their partners, but if I'd been either partner watching that I would have gone fucking mental felt extremely uncomfortable.

Even if they're not at it, their boundaries are shot to shit.

Inkanta · 22/11/2016 05:35

I don't think Natalie is right - God sake's! Hmm

MrsJamin · 22/11/2016 06:57

Only just caught up with the thread. Claudia's jive was so fast, it was her worst dance by far. What were they thinking, having that tempo, she just couldn't get her kicks in in time. Greg should have been saved. I really like Natalie but normally she's on the right side of professionalism and friendliness, the gushing was just a bit much this time.

StrictlyPan · 22/11/2016 07:03

God, you're a hard-faced lot.Grin

CongresswomanCaveMum · 22/11/2016 07:09

I think Natalie has always been "intense", it's just the kind of person she is. I remember when she first joined SCD and danced with the other bloke from Hollyoaks (name escapes me, he was also engaged to Carly Whatsherface who is now engaged to Danny Mac).

She kept going on about how, while dancing on Aussie Dancing on the Stars, she'd never failed to get to the Final and expected nothing less from her partners over here!

Didn't she meet her fiancé because her train was delayed - they got chatting and swapped numbers. Rather sweet I think.

But yes, she was very gushing last night and the "I love you" was probably a bit much, though I'm sure she didn't mean it in that way.

NoahVale · 22/11/2016 07:18

But Greg also championed Ed, which was good to hear. how hard he had been working etc. and how unfair people were being demanding he quits
