The last thread is almost full, so I thought we'd be prepared.

Despite the title I do love the Blackpool week really Grin Fingers crossed for a nice ballroom dance from the pros.

I preferred Greg to Claudia but I'm happy she's staying .
This year seems to be year of the tissue though, everyone is crying!

Re the hugging at the end, Danny isn't often in the group either.

Chipstick10 · 20/11/2016 20:30

Mr Balls is going to win. What a travesty for the better dancers

ohdearme1958 · 20/11/2016 20:30

ohdearme I'm sorry you didn't realise that the whole show was filmed in its entirety on Saturday night and that the Results Show was not live which means the result can be found out prior to it being aired but there was still no need for the snippy/sarky comments directed at Soup and others who pulled you up on it

Yes you're right.

I think it was the swearing in the first reply to me that upset me. There was no need for it.

PetraDelphiki · 20/11/2016 20:32

I have no idea what the judges were seeing - thought Claudias jive was awful :-( no bounce, overdone knees and forgotten steps! And NEVER wear black Latin shoes - makes your feet look really heavy!!!

QueenMortificado · 20/11/2016 20:39

I know Jenny! Not that much info but a bit to show to Nat is just super friendly I think

digerd · 20/11/2016 20:39

Just watched iplayer and saw the dance off - damn my blocked tear ducts.
I too thought Greg did much better in the DO and had an impressive presence which matched the pros.
Claudia just did not master the jive in any way, but loved her other dances
I shall miss Greg. He made the most progress/improvement and was devastated to be out Sad.

Tanaqui · 20/11/2016 20:45

Thanks queen! Wonder why it was AJ and not pasha or Giovanni?

WonderMike · 20/11/2016 20:54

That was a lot of emotion between Greg and Natalie Hmm

raisedbyguineapigs · 20/11/2016 20:56

There was a lot of crying! But I think there has been a bit of a crying overload this year anyway. Daisy was bawling too for about 2 days afterwards! Was Gregs wife the one they kept cutting to in the audience?

ElspethFlashman · 20/11/2016 20:57

I remember Scott Maslen was really overwhelmed with a big EE storyline at the time and was working long hours. He got very burnt out. I suspect it was a practical solution cos they'd never get to practice otherwise.

Of course it's the same tune we hear from most EE actors every time: "I work SO HARD! None of the other slackers can understand what it's like to work on a soap!"

There's always a VT bit of them falling asleep and looking plaintive for the pity votes.

EllaHen · 20/11/2016 21:13

Just watching the results now. Tess to Greg just before the dance off, "You are a novice Greg." Thanks Tess.

wannabestressfree · 20/11/2016 21:25

As I have said Mrs Greg is my sister and I am a long time mumsnetter. Please be careful what you are saying/ what you think you know to be true from a 'look'.

Millimat · 20/11/2016 21:26

Yes there was a lot of emphasis tonight on how greg was a complete novice at the start, from tess and Natalie. Sad to see greg go Sad
I think the viewers are supporting ed so much I've put money on him to win Grin

JennyHolzersGhost · 20/11/2016 21:29

Looking forward: Rinder to go next for me. I just can't warm to him. Even his reactions seem overly theatrical and not genuine.

QueenMortificado · 20/11/2016 21:30

Wannabe I think it's a load of old crap about them being more than friends, she was so friendly with her previous partners

Greg said at the beginning he didn't come on this show to find a girlfriend, I believe him

Mrs Greg is very pretty btw and seems very nice and supportive of him

ohdearme1958 · 20/11/2016 21:34

I also think its nonsense and tonight when Greg was upset he looked like a young boy and his partner very platonically patted him on the back.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 20/11/2016 22:06

Well I'm joining the Greg was robbed club. I thought they'd both improved in the d/o but Claudia's jive just didn't look like a jive, whereas Greg's was a convincing quickstep.
I've enjoyed seeing Claudia, loved her Charleston and it's always great to see people with such physical prowess taking on dance and improving. But that jive was just weird. Her back looked totally stiff and she wasn't sticking her bum out (technical term) in the way I expect in a proper jive. Meh.

Bejazzled · 20/11/2016 22:24

Nugget's dad woz robbed! I don't know what the judges were watching, Claudia really struggled with that jive. Greg's d.o. was far superior.

ElspethFlashman · 20/11/2016 22:31

wannabe he has another name other than Nugget, right?

Theromanempire · 20/11/2016 22:36

Poor Greg- not sure who to support now but it won't be Ore or Louise!

DH commented that had Greg been a contestant in the old days, he could well have won in the way that Ramps and Darren Gough won. They were of a very similar ability/improvement but it is now full of more accomplished dancers from the start.

wannabe I know the speculation must be difficult for Mrs Greg but on a different note, Nugget?? Really?? Hmm not sure what I would say to my sister if she called one of her DC Nugget Grin Grin

TimTamTerrier · 20/11/2016 22:48

I don't think Natalie has ever had a so much as a whiff of romance with any of her partners. She's a nice person so she's always got along well with them.

2kids2dogsnosense · 20/11/2016 22:54

You are in the public eye, you have to expect speculation.

I'd like to see Louise and Ore in the dance-off next week, or Louise and Claudia.

I love Ed, and I think Rinder has a lot of value, too. I want to keep Danny because Oti is fab.

Redcrayons · 20/11/2016 23:05

Natalie is lovely, she's always gushy with her partners. Even if they were Strictly Curse-Ing, they'd hardly be at it on television in front of his gf.

News from Twitter, Gorka was beaten up in Blackpool. Shock (according to The Sun).

2kids2dogsnosense · 20/11/2016 23:11

Oh - poor Gorka. That's awful.

BakeOffBiscuits · 20/11/2016 23:14

Poor GorkaShock

I agree that Greg should have stayed. I don't know much about dancing but I thought Claudia's dance was very clumpy.
