SCD 2016 #7 - They're! In! Blackpool! The spiritual home of ballroom dancing, donkey rides, rock and... huge amounts of theming apparently?

The last thread is almost full, so I thought we'd be prepared.

Despite the title I do love the Blackpool week really Grin Fingers crossed for a nice ballroom dance from the pros.

*Put a cushion in front of your eyes.

Learn a little patience.

Or go google it for yourself, the result is, I believe, very easy to find*

I guess you didnt get my attempt at humour either.

FernieB · 20/11/2016 18:11

Ed and Judge Rinder seem to be enjoying it the most. They really throw themselves into it. I like Danny but he was out of time at the beginning for a few steps last night so it wasn't a 10. I don't mind the previous dance experience as even with it, they're not nearly as good as the professionals. I just wish the judges would be more consistent and objective in their scoring.

Also don't like the extra dancers they put in at Blackpool. They're distracting. Do you remember the year they did a show at Wembley? The dance floor was so huge, it just didn't work. It's nice to go to Blackpool but they never used to have the extra dancers and it was fine.

ohdearme1958 · 20/11/2016 18:11

Oh and patience I have in abundance which is why Im staying up to approx 1am local time to watch the show. ;)

ElizaSchuyler · 20/11/2016 18:13

Perhaps the other halves have other commitments.

Isnt Jamie Redknapp a Sky Sports pundit! It's not as if Saturday is a busy day for him is it?

SoupDragon · 20/11/2016 18:14

I guess you didnt get my attempt at humour either.

Oh, was there humour?

But perhaps you did and you just couldn't help yourself anyway.

Was that meant to be humour too or just as rude as it seemed?

JennyHolzersGhost · 20/11/2016 18:15

Balloon - I think some weeks Yvette hasn't had a seat in the hall and has been backstage. So not sure that spouses do always get tickets. (Plus she missed the first week because of Labour conference, where a big bunch of people watched it in a hall with a big screen Grin ).
Anyway yes I totally agree with the sentiment. I'd do the same. And I'm suspicious of the level of Jamie R's support. But maybe I'm doing him a disservice.

JennyHolzersGhost · 20/11/2016 18:16

Good point Eliza.

Well, obviously not.

But perhaps you did and you just couldn't help yourself anyway. Was that meant to be humour too or just as rude as it seemed?

It can be whatever you want it to be.

ElizaSchuyler · 20/11/2016 18:25

I know the year that Abby whatshername got through to the finals Peter Crouch had to get permission to leave the Stoke ground early to get to the studio (a helicopter was waiting). My parents were at the Stoke match.

ppeatfruit · 20/11/2016 18:38

2kids2dogs Grin dsis works in the business, she told me that the presenters are offered a whole rail of outfits to choose from in each episode. So the choice is down to Tess!!

Tess has an hour glass figure she maybe chooses the wrong bra, giving her a lopsided look, more difficult to hoist up your boobs if you have to wear a strapless bra too I'm trying to be fair here Grin

wannabestressfree · 20/11/2016 18:45

They do get tickets every week to go (spouses/ partners etc)

emotionsecho · 20/11/2016 18:57

ohdearme no need to be sarky to Soup because your attempt at humour fell flat on its face.

QueenMortificado · 20/11/2016 18:59

Watched it on catch up and signing in now for 7.15.

Really disappointed by Claudia last night, think she went out of time and was quite rubbish

I think she will be in the dance off, hopefully with Greg as his time is up. Ore can leave too so I wouldn't mind for him to go.

QueenMortificado · 20/11/2016 19:04

Can we not have a bunfight on here about nothing?

It's meant to be a nice happy thread of shimmies, sequins and fleckerls

Yes. I'd like that.

WouldHave · 20/11/2016 19:06

I remember Rod Stewart turning up two or three times in the audience when his wife was in it.

bookbook · 20/11/2016 19:16

Right, settles in I'm here!

JennyHolzersGhost · 20/11/2016 19:16

Agree with Queen. Enough goady fuckers elsewhere on the boards, don't need them here.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 20/11/2016 19:17

I know the result every week
Wouldn't say it on here but have no issue with people knowing that I know the result
I have never known anyone to post a spoiler on here.
Anyhow everyone knows Bruce goes out Grin

ElizaSchuyler · 20/11/2016 19:17

It's Hairspray!

GrouchyKiwi · 20/11/2016 19:19

I'm watching the tennis.

Hope it's a good show tonight. I think Rick Astley is performing?

digerd · 20/11/2016 19:19

Right. As I have no digibox I can't wait untll after the show to find out who went home, but wanted to wait and not spy, so watching and following your comments. Smile

ElspethFlashman · 20/11/2016 19:19

When do they record this dance? All the hair/make up is different.

Saturday morning?

QueenMortificado · 20/11/2016 19:20

The celebs were AWFUL in that!!

Redcrayons · 20/11/2016 19:20

That was a fun group dance.
