I hope Ed stays - his timing is very good. Daisy seems nice, but a bit boring, although Daisy Daisy is very nice for a Viennese.

I really like Oksana, she seems really nice (as well as stunningly beautiful) and Judge Rinder adores her.

Gosh, lots of new posts to catch up on! I was out but am catching up now I liked Oksana's floral dress and she has very pretty hair! She seems nice and a good teacher too.

Chris Evans went on and on and on about how Ed should resign from Strictly as the final should only be for people who can dance to a certain standard. I had to laugh as he has ranted on in the past about only watching Strictly rather than X Factor as it's about people learning skills and improving.
He was persistently dismissive and rude about other opinions and openly canvassing people to text in agreeing with him.
He's an arsehole anyway but thought he rally overstepped the mark on this and his producer (or whoever) should have told him to STFU.

Katya really has earned my respect.

She's really calculating what Ed's strengths are (he's fast and doesn't take himself seriously) and choreographing accordingly.

I agree Katya has done wonders with Ed.

What I like about her is that she never dances with him in a patronizing, like say Brendan with Anastasia, who looks like he's escorting an old duffer around the place and it just looks like he's doing her a favour. Katya choreographs Ed and then dances with him as if he's a hot young guy which makes it fun to watch, rather than a pity vote. Plus she is obviously genuinely teaching him steps and lifts, his lifts were quite good.

Absolutely. He also has good timing too which helps immensely. He may be big and not so flexible but he has rhythm and enthusiasm. I actually think there is a decent dancer in there and Katya has done brilliantly.

He was candidate for Dad Dancing at the beginning but he has been a huge surprise.

Soup the total number of weeks to the Final means they can effectively leave one dance out, last year for example Jay didn't do a Samba, so perhaps Ed and Katya will leave the Rumba off their dance card.

Totally agree Bounty. While not a fan of Anastasia I think she got a raw deal being stuck with Brendan who didn't seem to make much effort to get on with her. I can see why they paired them - she's the 'big name' this year, he's the most experienced of the dancers - but she did so much better in the week that he was off.

How many more weeks to go btw ? I make it four but have I missed one ?

Oh it got really tedious so fast. Cos a lot of the pros were foreign at the time so he was a novelty cos he was a fresh faced young home grown whippersnapper from Grimsby, doncha know. Salt of the earth!

I'm hoping that if Ed Balls goes all the way to final that the rumba will be the one that he drops. But, having said that, I'm also not that keen to see his Argentine Tango, because I love the AT and I suspect that his version of it will make me feel a bit sad.

Look at the viewing stats for Ed compared to the others. He really was quite fantastic wasn't he? I couldn't stand him as a politician though!

I've only seen Ed's and it was really really impressive wasn't it? Esp after 'dropgate' then Katya deserves a bravery medal for allowing Ed the space to possibly drop her.

Sir Bruce did start the whole Kevin from Grimsby thing. There was a large crop of new pros who all joined at ones, including Alijaz, Janette and Ivetta and all had really long, foriegn names that Bruce struggled with. Then when it was time to introduce Kevin he said, 'finally an easy one because he's from Grimsby...' and the spent the rest of the series making catchphrase from it.
