New thread as the last one is getting very full.

I hope Ed stays - his timing is very good. Daisy seems nice, but a bit boring, although Daisy Daisy is very nice for a Viennese.

I did a Latin workshop with Katya and Neil once and she said she liked my leggings Smile

I think they're a good addition. I wonder if they're going to retire from competing soon? Strictly must have a big effect on time to train and being able to go to competitions.

High praise indeed! Grin

No sure why I am getting double posts everywhere today. Apologies - I am boring enough without you having thread it all twice.

ComputerDog · 08/11/2016 10:12

Hmmmm I didn't think that blog from Susie Verrill came across very well tbh. Long and ranty, and quite judgemental. Would have been better to stick to a couple of key points that a) dressing kids is not just the mum's responsibility (what was with all those "Greg, tell your wife..." comments?? It's 2016). And b) clothes are just clothes and dressing your son in a pink top doesn't mean you're trying to turn him into a girl.

Although it seemed to go down very well with all her followers, judging by the comments, so what do I know?

CongresswomanCaveMum · 08/11/2016 13:06

Polkadots I'd say it's pretty much impossible to maintain a top level competitive career and do Strictly. All the training hours they miss, not to mention the competitions.

Theromanempire · 08/11/2016 15:15

I am not going to link to the article that is currently headline on the DM app but it is basically an article about Greg's partner's blog post...the child has 4 middle names, which is absolutely fine, but one of those is Nugget Hmm Hmm Hmm

I get the impression that these 2 are trying so hard to be achingly 'hip/right-on' parents - Greg has seriously gone down in my estimation now (like he would be bothered by that Grin) - Nugget??

If his partner is a MNer, would love to see if she asked advice for that on the baby names thread Grin

ElspethFlashman · 08/11/2016 15:25

Nugget.

........Nugget..... Confused

ElspethFlashman · 08/11/2016 15:34

That said, the clothes were fine - fair play to her if she has the energy to search out funky clothes.

She says in the (rather narky) post that she detests cartoon sweatshirts and tracksuit bottoms. So do I, but I've given in to the cult of Paw Patrol emblazoned clothing. I'm too knackered to find trendy stuff tbh. I just shove it into the supermarket trolley!

MoonriseKingdom · 08/11/2016 16:43

I rather like some of the clothes he is wearing in some of the pics on her blog. A lot of the blog seems to be adverts for various rather expensive brands (despite her protestations that it is not all about expensive clothes). I am guessing she gets a lot of freebies. I understand she is upset but I thought some of the things she wrote were not very nice - particularly the cracks about the dress sense of people living in Northern towns. However, some of her other posts I can empathise with more.

I am guessing any negative comments don't get added. I would also guess any publicity is good publicity for her blog - it certainly got me reading. The cynic in me wonders if she went for the more 'girly' look in order to whip up a storm of interest.

Bejazzled · 08/11/2016 17:29

Nugget! some parents are weird

Anyway, back to Strictly. I'm really looking forward to this weeks show, particularly Rob Rinder as his happiness is so infectious.

Redcrayons · 08/11/2016 17:48

Nugget, really? Hope that's a joke, 13 year old Milo will Not be amused. the long ranty blog about how much she doesn't care what people say, shows exactly how much she cares. But tbh, if someone cricticised my baby on Twitter I'd want to hunt them down and put their windows in.

JV and Laura seemed OK on ITT. Friendly but not overly so.

Bloggers .
I liked the old days where you weren't supposed to read other people's diaries.

MrsJayy · 08/11/2016 18:36

Laura seems aloof a smily person but dont come to close thank you

WalrusGumboot · 08/11/2016 19:40

Nugget really is an unfortunate name for a boy Confused

TheDailyWail · 08/11/2016 20:38

Nugget?

2kids2dogsnosense · 08/11/2016 20:54

And I thought that Finn-Lee was a bit weird unique.

TimTamTerrier · 09/11/2016 08:17

Clearly Ed Balls is going to win now. This is the year that all voting publics choose the worst possible option open to them. Hmm

ThursdayLastWeek · 09/11/2016 08:55

That's perfect 2016 logic there TimTam Sad

GrouchyKiwi · 09/11/2016 09:21

Grin Sad

Cherrypi · 09/11/2016 09:23

I think Ed Balls will win too.

Clawdy · 09/11/2016 10:16

Good point Tim Tam.

SoupDragon · 09/11/2016 10:17

Clearly Ed Balls is going to win now. This is the year that all voting publics choose the worst possible option open to them.

So they'll choose dull, professional Danny-the-ringer then.

MrsJamin · 09/11/2016 14:54

And honey g wins x factor.

DiegeticMuch · 09/11/2016 17:30

I think that Ed has shown real improvement, and he was genuinely amateur to begin with. I'd like him to reach Blackpool. Likewise, for the same reasons, Daisy, Claudia, Greg and Rinder.

Danny-ringer is nice but not an amateur. Louise - I dunno - she seems pleasant enough but I'm not a massive fan. Ore doesn't really appeal either, the crying is getting tedious.
