New thread as the last one is getting very full.

I hope Ed stays - his timing is very good. Daisy seems nice, but a bit boring, although Daisy Daisy is very nice for a Viennese.

I love Anton but because he usually gets duffers and the younger men get staring roles in group dance i forget he is an actual real dancer Grin

FantasticButtocks · 07/11/2016 17:16

I have only just found this thread, but very glad I did and hope it's not too late for me to jump in. Smile

I usually record it and fast forward through some of the talky bits...but from reading this thread I see I have missed out on some bits of info; if anyone could fill me in I'd be most grateful Smile Whose sister is Jo? Who is the ex of Laura's partner? Confused Who actually IS Daisy? And who is laura? Agree she and Giovanni just didn't seem to have any chemistry whatsoever, and I couldn't take to her.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 07/11/2016 17:29

Jo is Kevin's sister. Kevin is married to Karen.

Laura's dance partner's ex is Georgia May-Foote who danced with him last year. She's one of Laura's best friends

Daisy is a model and I think she used to go out with Matt Smith (Doctor Who).

Laura is, umm, a television presenter I think?

Joanne Clifton is Kevin's sister. (Karen is married to Kevin)
GIovanni was with Georgia May Foote last year. They were a couple for a bit after the show but he dumped her just before this series. Laura and Georgia are friends, so a bit awkward.
Daisy - shes a model and the daughter of one of those famous for being famous types. Can't remember who.

Laura - presenter on MTV or X factor (I'm probably making this up, never heard of her before)

Redcrayons · 07/11/2016 17:33

X post and we appear to have the same level of showbiz knowledge. Grin

AxminsterCarpet · 07/11/2016 17:36

I loved Joe Varney's show off spinby bit at the end of his dance.
And I loved Laura's real casual 'Thanks Gio' when she did her leaving speech - about as insincere as you could get! Grin

AlmaCogansFrockFan · 07/11/2016 17:47

So pleased that Daisy got through after two weeks in the DO- (and loved Aljaz' delighted reaction!) I had voted for her only partly from sympathy as I had really enjoyed her dance, how creative of Aljaz to inject humour into a Viennese waltz! I also voted for Ed and Rinder - as pps have said it's lovely to see people with no previous experience learning dance skills, enjoying the experience and putting on an entertaining performance.

FantasticButtocks · 07/11/2016 18:21

Thanks all, that's a bit clearer now...do you mean Karen who used to be one of the pros on the show? Hadn't realised Georgia and G were a couple...
The music...used to be really good, now seems a bit hit and miss.
Judge R is such a sweetie, but I do agree with Craig about the facial expressions, they are quite off-putting.

MoonriseKingdom · 07/11/2016 18:32

Daisy - shes a model and the daughter of one of those famous for being famous types.

Maybe not entirely fair Smile
Her dad is Gavin Rossdale who was lead singer with Bush. Not so well known here but I think pretty successful in America in the 90s. Her step dad is in Supergrass (more blasts from the 90s pasts). You are right about her mother - nominally in a band but mainly famous for dating/ marrying famous persons. These people were all kinda cool when I was a teenager which makes me feel ancient.

ElspethFlashman · 07/11/2016 18:41

I'm fairly certain Daisy didn't know who Hee Dad was growing up. I think her mum and Gavin were mates when young who had a one night stand or something.

Anyway when Daisy was in her teens her Mum decided to tell the world and Gavin was shocked. And it got really awkward and awful for a while there. DNA tests etc.

She's on good terms with Gavin by all accounts but I don't know how much they see each other. Any I suspect Daisy is on good terms with everyone given how sunny she is.

The bloke from Supergrass is the one who raised her.

MoonriseKingdom · 07/11/2016 18:54

The sight of Pearl Lowe and Danny from Supergrass in the audience of a Saturday night light entertainment show makes my teenage self laugh. Daisy seems genuinely rather lovely and sweet though. I'm glad she avoided the dance off this week.

MrsJayy · 07/11/2016 19:16

Is pearl a bit like sadie frost famous london woman dates...... ive no idea who pearl Lowe is but i know her name

Bejazzled · 07/11/2016 19:46

Exactly Mrs jayy

HalleLouja · 07/11/2016 20:16

I am glad the Judge is doing well. I think I mentioned it in a previous thread but he was my friend years ago and is very funny.

Was impressed with Ed's quick step as well he actually was dancing and not acting the fool.

In other news I saw Vincent and Flavia's show at the weekend and it was amazing. The Last Tango they did was jaw dropping. It's a shame it's their last show. Go and see it if you get a chance. Probably ruined L and K's for me but I wasn't that impressed.

MrsJayy · 07/11/2016 20:47

I wish they would call judge Rinder Robert its so annoying judge rinder we know who he is fgs

ThursdayLastWeek · 07/11/2016 21:03

Oh I didn't know Danny from Supergrass was essentially Daisy's dad.
I feel like both of them are my generation...so I'm obviously deluded!

ThursdayLastWeek · 07/11/2016 21:05

Yep, when I was a teen I aspired to be older and cool like Suoergrass.
Now I am old I am obviously terrible at judgeing how old the yoof of today are Grin

WalrusGumboot · 07/11/2016 21:24

Greg's partner (Milo's mum) is Susie Verill, she writes a parenting blog. The latest entry is entitled 'I dress my son in girl clothes'! Grin

Theromanempire · 07/11/2016 21:31

walrus I half expected one of our comments to pop up on there when she started quoting what people had said Blush

Bejazzled · 07/11/2016 21:36

So, Not affected by the comments at all but had to blog about it quite forcefully. (and quite sneery stereotyping about Bradford people) 🤔

Up to them how they dress their child but they shouldn't be miffed when people honestly think it's a little girl as I wrongly assumed

Btw - "cockwomble" "this too shall pass " wonder if she is a mumsnetter 🙂

MrsJayy · 07/11/2016 21:51

Oh dear mummy blogger thats different from other mummy bloggers dont they all say that? Yes milo was mistaken for a girl he looked like a girl some boys do.

MsInterpret · 07/11/2016 22:27

Just watched ITT but thought they seemed ok. and a bit embarrassed to admit I had a squiz at twitter and Laura IS following JV. But it looks like it was a quick refollow as he's top of the following list.

Make of that what you will!

ThursdayLastWeek · 08/11/2016 06:04

I'm really dreading Eds salsa. This will prove if Katya really has got skills.
I missed Laura and Joe last night, but saw Ed & Katya and I though she seemed so patient and fun loving. But not in an 'I'm MAD, me' kind of way.

MrsJayy · 08/11/2016 07:55

Katya seems lovely i would really like them to get to Blackpool

WalrusGumboot · 08/11/2016 08:16

Blogger's got to blog about something I suppose Bejazzled. I also wonder if she's a MNer! Highly likely I would have thought.
