The babies. Soldier girl makes a big thing of saying she's pregnant. Where is the baby? Alice/Sophie was also pregnant. Ditto. What's the link?( if there is one)

Was the policewoman somehow covering for her dad - pretending to be pregnant then passing off Alice's baby as her own? But then why would she have scan photo? Ridiculous theory! I agree it seems a coincidence that she was pregnant - though still yomping through snowy woods at 8 months - now there is no sign of her baby. Actually the timing doesn't work there at all does it? Unless Alice had just had the baby before she escaped.

The threads aren't joined together though because there are only 53 posts in this thread.

Whose silly idea was this? Angry

The grave that they visited last week, is it actually Alice, or is it Sophie as Alice iyswim?

Dancergirl · 20/10/2016 09:53

I think it is the real Alice, you wouldn't bury someone without confirming their true identity, checking DNA etc....

Could the customer in the butchers be relevant. Funeral/Aldi woman clearly didn't like him.

I was pregnant during the last series and developed a massive crush on Baptiste, not feeling it so much this time Grin

I thought it was really chilling how soldier girl's dad told the turtle story, he'd seemed like a nice man before that.

Surprised to see a yellow scarf again.

Just to weigh in... New thread makes sense, means people can join as they see the episode, with no spoilers. And there are a lot of theories, so it's not hard to fill a thread up for each episode! Grin

I think I may need to watch the episode again as I seem to have missed a lot of what everyone is posting about. It is not possible to watch the missing while mning!!

Has anyone done a breakdown of what's in the title sequence yet?

I'm a bit confused by the last scene.Just watched it now.

I think Eves baby dies and it's just a red herring - perhaps she lost it whilst trying to save "Alice" in an accident like the theory of the shed going on fire hence the scars and Matthews guilt too?

Confused how matthew nearly lost the dad his job

Or maybe they didn't believe she was alice later in and it turns out she was when she died and that's the guilt? That they doubted her

Perhaps they tried to "test" her somehow and that's how she dies?

I was thinking at the end of the episode that the Brigadier was the abductor and had kept Alice and Sophie all this time but was framing the butcher. Think he knows she's not Alice from the way he said her name.

Do we think it was Sam's baby?

I had the feeling that the affair hadn't started until after "Alice" returned?

Is Julien looking for Daniel Reed because he thinks he knows who abducted the girls or because he thinks that the other girl can still be found?

I just want to know why Alice's mum keeps on clicking through those pictures? Who are they?

Report
MillieMoodle · 21/10/2016 10:18

I think the pictures are from around the time that Alice went missing. They look quite dated. Maybe Sophie and Alice were in the same place at the same time and were spotted and followed until abducted? Hopefully it will be explained in the next episode as I need to know, it's driving me mad!

So is the grave of 'Alice' that the mom and brother visited the real 'Alice' and the girl who had returned is Sophie. They've since found out that the girl who escaped and is back with them is Sophie? And the real Alice, their daughter, has been dead all along?! Confused! So much going on!!

Report
diddl · 21/10/2016 13:51

Can't decide, Marshmallow!

mellongoose · 21/10/2016 22:41

But if 'Alice' is really Sophie in 2014...and real Alice is in the grave then where is Sophie now?!

Can't work out why Sam refused the scar treatment. That bit just didn't make sense to me Confused

Just rewatching episode one and I don't think young Alice was going to meet anyone - she seemed to get up and move just because her brother came and found her?

Also, maybe I'm overstretching here but when older Alice is in the ambulance and says "Sophie Giroux" does her voice have a slightly french lilt or is it just the way she is saying the name?

She recognised her Dad in hospital - nobody introduced him as far as we could see - so how could she know exactly what he looked like if she's really Sophie?

Report
whyistherumgone · 25/10/2016 11:00

Also, wonder if Sam refused the scar treatment to punish himself somehow? If he has guilt over something/the way he got them maybe he doesn't think he should be easily rid of them but should have to look at them every day to remind him of whatever caused them? Just a thought.

If I found a pen with a hotel name on it in DH's pocket, I really wouldn't think twice about it. Don't pens tend to travel far and wide?

I certainly wouldn't be camped out in the hotel car park on the basis of a pen.

I've just binge-watched the first 3 episodes and am really enjoying it.

Any theories on how the Iraq angle is going to fit in?
