It did annoy me when Baptiste confronted Gettrick.

I thought that Eve might have a realisation when she found out that Baptiste hadn't assaulted her father, but then she didn't find that out...

I'm wondering if Sophie might die to save Alice &/or Lucy?

I agree with a pp that the Iraq thing somehow doesn't seem enough to keep quiet about Sophie/Alice.

Hmm. Keep hearing people talk about The Missing so thought I'd churn through it tonight. It's a bit cliched. It's like the writers thought 'we need to make it relevant, what's big in the news these days?' Hol by City is like that. It annoys me when writers are more concerned about shoehorning current affairs in than an actual story with real meat.

Did she say anything else?

I doubt there would have been useful plot-spot info, but I was wondering how the actor came across

You're welcome - same in this house

Eve Stone (Laura Fraser) was on BBC this morning and she said the ending was "SHOCKING BUT SATISFYING" !!!!!!!!

Just caught up the episode from wed 15th (episode 6) I was expecting it to be the last one. Is that it? A lot has been revealed but still got lots of loose ends!!

Hmmm it's starting to lose me a bit. Potential body swapping and a mother not knowing if a girl she was living with was her daughter for sure is a tad ludicrous.

The other Missing was always credible. This is getting a tad far fetched.

And, FWIW, I'm not sure that the Iraqi angle is closely related to the other missing girls.

'Compensation' could be for a number of things, though what happened there might have somehow given perpetrator/s the taste for their actions in practice (isn't it the case that serial offenders escalate like that?)

But who?

And why are a number of the military bids having such very long postings in Germany?

I watched an hour late, and won't be too explicit (yet)

But that was quite a pair of twists at the end!

I've just binge-watched the first 3 episodes and am really enjoying it.

Any theories on how the Iraq angle is going to fit in?

If I found a pen with a hotel name on it in DH's pocket, I really wouldn't think twice about it. Don't pens tend to travel far and wide?

I certainly wouldn't be camped out in the hotel car park on the basis of a pen.

Also, wonder if Sam refused the scar treatment to punish himself somehow? If he has guilt over something/the way he got them maybe he doesn't think he should be easily rid of them but should have to look at them every day to remind him of whatever caused them? Just a thought.

Just rewatching episode one and I don't think young Alice was going to meet anyone - she seemed to get up and move just because her brother came and found her?

Also, maybe I'm overstretching here but when older Alice is in the ambulance and says "Sophie Giroux" does her voice have a slightly french lilt or is it just the way she is saying the name?

She recognised her Dad in hospital - nobody introduced him as far as we could see - so how could she know exactly what he looked like if she's really Sophie?

But if 'Alice' is really Sophie in 2014...and real Alice is in the grave then where is Sophie now?!

Can't work out why Sam refused the scar treatment. That bit just didn't make sense to me Confused

So is the grave of 'Alice' that the mom and brother visited the real 'Alice' and the girl who had returned is Sophie. They've since found out that the girl who escaped and is back with them is Sophie? And the real Alice, their daughter, has been dead all along?! Confused! So much going on!!

MillieMoodle · 21/10/2016 10:18

I think the pictures are from around the time that Alice went missing. They look quite dated. Maybe Sophie and Alice were in the same place at the same time and were spotted and followed until abducted? Hopefully it will be explained in the next episode as I need to know, it's driving me mad!

The80sweregreat · 21/10/2016 09:16

I just want to know why Alice's mum keeps on clicking through those pictures? Who are they?

Do we think it was Sam's baby?

I had the feeling that the affair hadn't started until after "Alice" returned?

Is Julien looking for Daniel Reed because he thinks he knows who abducted the girls or because he thinks that the other girl can still be found?

NewspaperClippings · 20/10/2016 17:19

I was thinking at the end of the episode that the Brigadier was the abductor and had kept Alice and Sophie all this time but was framing the butcher. Think he knows she's not Alice from the way he said her name.

Report
Bolognaise · 20/10/2016 15:57

I think Eves baby dies and it's just a red herring - perhaps she lost it whilst trying to save "Alice" in an accident like the theory of the shed going on fire hence the scars and Matthews guilt too?

Confused how matthew nearly lost the dad his job

Or maybe they didn't believe she was alice later in and it turns out she was when she died and that's the guilt? That they doubted her

Perhaps they tried to "test" her somehow and that's how she dies?
