When? That link isn't working for me.

Will be on screen in 2018, but better late than never. Ideally they'll film 86/89 back to back.

Excellent

Destinysdaughter · 14/10/2016 23:17

Yay! Loved the first series. So glad there's going to be another one. 😀

Manumission · 14/10/2016 23:18

Fabulous. I can be patient-ish.

TheLegendOfBeans · 14/10/2016 23:29

Yahoo!

morningtoncrescent62 · 15/10/2016 19:26

Great news, that's made my day. I loved the first series, best thing on telly in ages.

DiegeticMuch · 15/10/2016 19:38

Oh that's brilliant!!!

IPityThePontipines · 15/10/2016 20:18

I feel very happy to have been the bearer of such good news. Grin

Sehr gut!

NoahVale · 16/10/2016 09:02

great news.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 16/10/2016 09:06

Awesome. This does mean I'll have to get a Fire stick though - I'm not missing this!

NoahVale · 16/10/2016 09:07

isnt it channel 4?
nope, just read link, thankfully, its Amazon

Kennington · 16/10/2016 09:08

Great. I spoke to colleagues in our German office and they either hadn't heard of it or weren't interested! I was saying if this is the Tv quality they need to export more stuff.

NoahVale · 16/10/2016 09:14

i dont think it was popular in germany? touched a nerve?

Hassled · 16/10/2016 09:16

Now that is seriously good news. I loved that show. I "like" Jonas Nay on FB but as he posts in German and I have no knowledge of German it's a fairly pointless exercise.

GlowWine · 16/10/2016 09:17

Yay great news, thanks for sharing. Yes my family in Germany have not seen it either- we worked out that it probably aired in the summer at the same time as their version of 'the voice' (which my sister watches) and on a commercial channel my parents rarely even look at. Despite the outlandish plotline my two German immigrant(expat??) friends and I loved it, but much also from a nostalgic point of view Smile

Dapplegrey1 · 16/10/2016 09:18

Best series I've ever seen.
'Alex' should have won an award for his acting during the scene when the intelligence chap tells him things aren't what they seem. (I don't think I'm giving anything away there)
Actually, all the actors were completely brilliant. I've seen 'Tischbier' in a few other German films since.
However it's a long time to wait until 2018!

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 16/10/2016 09:31

I remember Tischbier in 'Goodbye Lenin!', I couldn't place him to begin with.

Archfarchnad · 16/10/2016 09:45

I'm in Germany and haven't seen it, haven't heard it mentioned either. Might try to get hold of it now. One issue is that German TV is generally shite, so people don't take it seriously. And showing something in the summer months is akin to sticking it in the bin - nobody watches TV then. Who is the Tischbier actor?

Ginxed · 16/10/2016 09:58

Fantastisch! Loved this, as did my German DH.

Rueben · 16/10/2016 10:02

Yay Smile

Dapplegrey1 · 16/10/2016 10:09

Tischbier is played (brilliantly) by Alexander Beyer. As Beauty says, he was in Goodbye Lenin and also in the enjoyable Sonnenallee.
Was the West German army so infiltrated by East German spies as is the case in Deutschland 83?

HappyAxolotl · 16/10/2016 10:41

Ausgezeichnet! Grin

SestraClone · 16/10/2016 19:34

Oh this is great news!
