There is nothing like a good ponder Kezia. I fully recommend it at all times.

Does anyone think that Spanner has a slight look of 'The Sausage' about him or is it just the redness of his beard?

Mind you Kezia my pondering has led to me burning my dinner which, as it largely consisted of aubergines to start with, really does not look good! Will be closing my eyes as I eat.

Catching up with the thread after watching last night. I went to the cinema on Weds (£15 here ilove, makes your price look like a bargain! Even the student ticket was £12!).

Watched last night but have only just caught up with the thread having taken daughter back to Bath today for uni. I had a smile to myself as we walked into town from her student house behind a man in a CJ style cast on the correct leg this time. Sadly he was no CJ!

Totally agree with everything said about the soundtrack- in fact I managed to post as much as post 1001 on the old thread after everyone else had moved to the new one Smile. I just haven't noticed the music at all this time, and last series it was so evocative. I listened to the soundtrack playlist all the way home this afternoon!

I'm with ilove in not expecting too much this time. I'm just enjoying the view even if the journey isn't quite as exciting.

PS thanks for the strictly tip off, I would have missed that otherwise!

Are we strictly watching. I'm one glass of wine down at the end of a dry week BTW.

pixieg1rl · 23/09/2016 21:04

Alan Deddicote sounds like he's been slipped some speed.

pixieg1rl · 23/09/2016 21:09

The costume really isn't helping Laura. It keeps getting caught up

moojangles · 23/09/2016 21:09

Thanks for those pix. Definitely #Team Jackson!
Can only watch SCD if I can forward through Tess & Claudia, they give me the rage

Ilovelblue · 23/09/2016 21:14

I'm watching pixie but am also waiting for a cake to finish cooking. We're doing a cake sale next week for the MacMillan Biggest Coffee Morning and as I usually do three different ones, I need to get ahead. This is one that freezes ok.

pixieg1rl · 23/09/2016 21:18

Hurray! Not me drunkenly slurring to myself then. I think it's a bit unfair to those who draw early dances out of hold. Unless their men of course.

pixieg1rl · 23/09/2016 21:29

Craig and Judge Rinder are having a camp-off. I think Bruno is going to wet himself

Ilovelblue · 23/09/2016 21:36

The cake is out now so I can concentrate properly.

Ilovelblue · 23/09/2016 21:57

Is it just me - I've no idea who half of these celebrities are on SCD this time.

kazzaD66 · 23/09/2016 22:37

Ilove no, it's not just you. And I see Tess and her dress sense Confused has continued where it left off last December...!!!

Morning all! nvm I haven't noticed any songs on the soundtrack apart from the Kooks one. The rest sounds like incidental music the same as the last series so I assume it was just composed for this. I wonder whether it was expensive or awkward to include all the songs by other artists as they appeared in the last series or they just didn't want that feel for this series.

Well, I watched SCD folks but I did promise not to comment at the time so maintained radio silence. In summary my thoughts are:

Laura has potential but as I thought at the launch show she looks a little bit like Bambi around the legs but I'm sure she will improve a lot.

I thought Lesley was actually quite good but I've seen comments on the SCD thread that Anton is really too tall for her and that might spoil the way it looks. Not sure how the Latin will shape up - not Anton's strong point either.

Naga looked elegant has potential and looks amazing - I like her on breakfast TV.

Ore very good - I kept shouting at the screen however, 'just get on with the dancing' and yes Len was annoyed by that but Joanne will have to not overdo it this isn't Scott Mills and the lobster again - also cringey moment bringing the 'wife' into the scenario.

Greg very good, lots of energy, surprise, surprise, not sure it was technically as good as the marks suggested but I could see him being a good ballroom dancer with that lovely tallness and some good posture.

...and last but not least Judge Rinder - OMG haven't laughed so much for ages but I loved him. He is going to be worth every penny!!

Speak to you all later!

NVM I think the only songs of note they've used are the Birdy theme tune (link below) and the Kooks song can't bear it.

The song used in the trailer is awesome, for me it's the only one that can compare to the music for series 1 - Weightless by Layla

All are on Spotify, although for some reason Spotify links don't work when I try and post them.

pixieg1rl · 24/09/2016 10:08

I think the soundtrack (or lack of) is noticeable this time, hell even MrP commented on it. Maybe it's a rights/budget thing. I'm sure those in Auz and NZ said they didn't get a lot of the soundtrack the UK version had.

After really not liking the credits song it's growing on me. I love the Layla one they used on the trailer. Kooks is a bit meh, but I think it's included for the lyrics mainly.

Rhubarb01 · 24/09/2016 10:37

Just popping back with another random thought - the "Last of the Mohicans" cringey quote - sort of hilarious too in the circumstances - I just wonder if it's going to be relevant later on in Episode 4 or 5. Mind you, I wouldn't mind seeing Georgie rescue Elvis for a change and quote it back at him - go on girl!

NappyValleyMum - that might have been me?
Ditto is excellent, isn't it! The dialogue is smart and funny, feels authentic to me. I like how it moves the story on without becoming something that loses the original essence of MD/CJ.

I've been listening to the London Grammar songs that were used in Series 1 the last few days. I particularly love Strong.

Elvis quoting Last of the Mohicans was such a cringe. I hope it does have some further significance that has yet to be revealed to us, otherwise it just becomes even more bizarre!
