This is the best thing I have seen on TV in years. Jokes are completely lost on me of course...

MakemineaGandT · 06/09/2016 22:30

It was bloody (literally) brilliant

southeastdweller · 06/09/2016 22:31

I kept waiting for Amanda to mention MM - she seems like she'd be on here!

MsJuniper · 06/09/2016 22:31

SO GOOD (and painful)

seasidesally · 06/09/2016 22:31

that was good, they must have got their research from here Grin

i freeze cheese, hmmmmm what does that make me

MargotLovedTom · 06/09/2016 22:31

"Sorry, that doesn't work for me now". Definitely been rifling through threads on here Sharon Horgan et al Grin.

trickydickie · 06/09/2016 22:32

That was completely fantastic. The line " I wanted my children brought up the same way as me, by my mother..". Brilliant.

cromwell44 · 06/09/2016 22:32

I was expecting this to be dreadful but it was pretty funny. It got the school mum types spot on.

MakemineaGandT · 06/09/2016 22:33

Amanda was hateful wasn't she.......actually laughed out loud when that middle finger went up: "it still works" Grin

Quite enjoyed that. So well observed, I've experienced so many of these situations over the past few years...

Tartyflette · 06/09/2016 22:34

Yes, very enjoyable. Lucy Punch is great.

moodyblues · 06/09/2016 22:34

Magnificent.

Footle · 06/09/2016 22:38

The language has changed over the years but the issues and the hideous vibes are much the same. Brilliant.

99littleducks · 06/09/2016 23:12

Ha ha yes it was definitely based on research from MN.
I really enjoyed it actually Grin

VeryFoolishFay · 06/09/2016 23:43

I thought it was brilliant. We have a tiny school with our own Amanda - complete with long blonde hair and toothy smile.

Poor Julia - 'I'm not used to spending time with my kids like this and now there's all these others. And the one with the plait was mean to me...'

southeastdweller · 07/09/2016 10:41

Lots of rave reviews in today's newspapers. Fingers crossed a series gets commissioned.

Spottyvanswithlaces · 07/09/2016 12:06

It was quite good, just watched it on iPlayer. Amanda has the same phoney voice and mannerism as the 'Queen Bee' in dd's year. She hasn't got the looks though Smile. I very much like the Julia character and loved the scene with the red traffic light in the middle of the road for no discernible reason Grin. The 'middle finger scene' was very funny. Looking forward to more. Are there any other episodes or was tho a one off pilot to gage the audience's response?

southeastdweller · 07/09/2016 12:30

It was a one-off pilot.

bibliomania · 07/09/2016 13:03

Excellent stuff - really enjoyed it and hope it gets picked up for a series. I loved the scene with the grandmother.

Described in the Guardian television listings as "Essentially Mumsnet: the sitcom, an utterly hysterical and bracingly honest look at the messy business of motherhood".

Thecatgotmytongue · 07/09/2016 13:09

Is it on YouTube? I don't get iPlayer.

Bookaboo · 07/09/2016 13:45

I watched this last night by accident, just as I'd been sat worrying about my childcare!!
I didn't realise it was a one-off, but I must admit I did wonder what they were going to do in the next episode.

Spottyvanswithlaces · 07/09/2016 14:13

Julia: "There is a whole network of mums that i have now no access to" Grin Grin love it.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 07/09/2016 15:06

Will have to watch this on I player this evening while ds2 and dh at rugby. The only 2hours I get to watch any tv.
