2 years ago a thread on Our Girl was started with these words ^Anyone watching this drivel?
although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it^

38,000 posts, fireside wrestling contests, fan-fiction, autograph requests, carol concerts, CJ Grand Tours later we are about to watch series 2! And that first post is a distant memory.

Join us on what is sure to be an amazing journey over the next 5 weeks

Oh yes to Lechley Park and the lake setting. AGM is coming together nicely... Just need to tell DH (shouting loudly) "its not an orgy"!!! Well not at the moment!!!

Richtea19 · 15/09/2016 20:42

Loving all the theories today too

Delphin · 15/09/2016 21:09

Only, there was a prequel? Online or where?
Watched the first 15 minutes in some quiet time in the afternoon. First comment: Who the hell was making the decisions back in Hereford/London? The info that Georgie was Elvis' ex-fiancée should have been common knowledge there (or at least be in his file). CJ was within his rights to doubt whether Elvis could do the job. He should have put him on the heli back to [wherever he came from].
OK, people, off to watch ep 2 as my bedtime reading.

Onlygirljen · 15/09/2016 21:14

Delphin, yes on iplayer. Link posted above by nickel and pixie ^

It's not very long, about ten mins or so!

namechangedtoday15 · 15/09/2016 22:26

I can't believe it's 2 years since the first series. Captain James has been my mobile's screen wallpaper ever since. Was out last night so just watched last night's episode. More CJ. Loved it

Evening all.

On a serious note, can I say the banter on here has kept me going most of the day. The friend I told you about who was in the final stages of cancer died earlier today and I've not been able to concentrate on anything properly. He was only moved into the hospice yesterday too.

On a lighter note, I hope TG and the BBC are pleased with our reactions to last night's episode. I'm watching it again just now though skipping over the really gory bits.

Elvis is so arrogant, I can't help but laugh at him, especially in his conversations with CJ. All that said however, I was totally gripped by it last night. If you remember, we thought episode two in the first series was the best, didn't we?

Had to smile at an email from my friend (the telly addict who thinks she can tell me stuff I don't already know about OG - as if). When I originally told her about MK taking on the role, she was very disparaging. She seems to have forgotten her earlier criticism and has now decided she's brilliant.

We'll be on a new thread soon too!

Ilovelblue · 15/09/2016 22:47

NVM you need to get back in the zone.... and quickly!

I would guess when he proposed, some of the attraction went back to when they were on a mission (of the military kind of course) in Afghan?

Ilovelblue · 15/09/2016 22:48

PS: I've just ordered the DVD.

Ilovelblue · 15/09/2016 22:49

Ooops, forgot - one last thing - are we having the watchalong tomorrow or Saturday please?

Nickel45 · 15/09/2016 22:52

Sending hugs ilove xxxxx

Rhubarb01 · 15/09/2016 22:53

Oh ilove I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. You know however, that we are one hundred per cent by your side in spirit. Flowers.

Rhubarb01 · 15/09/2016 23:05

Re: the watch along - I can't do tomorrow as I'm off to see Bridget Jones Baby - hope all the best bits haven't already been shown on TV as they usually do, leaving the rest rather underwhelming. If Friday is good for everyone else then please go ahead. If it's not then I will be around on Saturday night - as always!

Must confess, yes I've had another watch of episode 2. For series 1 I think it was actually the first episode that hooked me and episode 2 just really racked up the tension - brilliant scene with Bashira and the bomb vest - and who can forget "charm and magnetism" in CJ's tent and the epic rendition of 'Don't go breaking my heart'. For this series I think the moment that got me was when the helicopter landed and Elvis stode towards the camera with his dark glasses on and CJ swore under his breath - I actually think they could have played "The boys are back in town" and got away with it. Just to see Elvis and CJ in the same shot - brilliant. Strangely, I'm still not sure that Elvis is my' type' but I just like the whole scenario now - so it;s a 'yes' from me.

Sorry to hear your news ilove Flowers

I have been thinking the same that maybe Laura is going to turn out to be his daughter.

Sorry to hear your news ilove Flowers

ladybird69 · 15/09/2016 23:15

What is the milky tray man? I watched it with my mum last night and she said that when Georgie was rescued, is it from series one?
Could Laura be a sister who has died, so he has her name tattooed in a heart. I didn't watch series one(wish I had) so don't know his story.
But really loving it and was impressed with MK last night.

Rhubarb01 · 15/09/2016 23:23

Oh Ladybird you are betraying your youth by confessing to not having ever experienced the Milk Tray Man - it was an advert through the 70's and 80's with an SAS/Secret Agent/James Bond type of man in black who used to sneak into ladies bedrooms to leave a box of Milk Tray on the bed with his calling card - strap line was "And all because the lady loves...Milk Tray"

When they decided to revive the advert and launched a campaign to find a new Milk Tray Man quite a few of us suggested BA/CJ for the job. At the moment though it looks like Elvis is more in the frame.

Rhubarb01 · 15/09/2016 23:25

BTW - you must go and look out series 1. It doesn't have Elvis or Georgie in it as they are new for this series but it tells the story of how CJ and Molly met and fell in love...not to be missed.

Ilovelblue · 16/09/2016 00:06

Thanks everyone, it's very sweet of you. I've been baking tonight to take my mind off it all so they'll be pleased when I go into work tomorrow with cakes.

Ladybird as Rhu says your words betray your age and innocence! It was a great advert but Milk Tray was never actually my favourite box of chocs! Would perhaps get to like them if CJ or Elvis delivered on a regular basis though!

MaddieMoo82 · 16/09/2016 02:56

So sorry about your news ilove, sending love and hugs Flowers

So sorry to hear your news ilove, sending love and hugs xx

Richtea19 · 16/09/2016 06:46

ilove so so sorry and sad to hear of your news, it must of been so devastating and so quick at the end too.

I can't do a watch along tonight and I haven't even managed to watch Ep 2 again. I've been working all week doing extra hours but hopefully next week will go back to normal.

The theory of a daughter would work, and I prefer that scenario to that of some other girlfriend.

Nickel45 · 16/09/2016 07:09

Morning :) afraid I can't join you for this weeks watchalong, I'll be camping with a bunch of Cubs ... Even without the storm we had last night and the local flooding, I know what I'd rather be doing!
