2 years ago a thread on Our Girl was started with these words ^Anyone watching this drivel?
although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it^

38,000 posts, fireside wrestling contests, fan-fiction, autograph requests, carol concerts, CJ Grand Tours later we are about to watch series 2! And that first post is a distant memory.

Join us on what is sure to be an amazing journey over the next 5 weeks

Welcome Delphin not a problem you dislike Elvis all the more for me but maybe he'll grow on you over time as he often does for me Grin

Rich as well as Teethgate tonight I shall be reccying the quantity, height and grip-worthiness of any stray drainpipes on the Old Kebab lair. I'm thinking corrugated single storey roof hence ability for any stray Kenyan downpour to run off slope without the necessity for downpipe drainage. Thus rendering Elvis useless to Georgie and more use in a diy irrigation sense to me

I also need to get out more...

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 12:03

Just one more thought that occurred to me - why did CJ run on his jippy leg all the way across the town square when the wedding party arrived in limos straight outside? If he was Best Man wouldn't he too have had a car share with the groom that would still be waiting outside his house/hotel/barracks to take them?

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 12:04

And with a sword that big on public display racing across Manchester, wasn't he running the risk of being arrested by a jobsworth plod?

Rhubarb01 · 14/09/2016 13:59

Afternoon! - Well OG day has come round again!

ilove sorry to hear the bad news about your friend. I know how you feel. It was a year this week that my friend died and she was still young. It always feels so wrong. However, she had time to gather her thoughts together and she told me that she had no regrets and knew she'd had a good life even though it was shorter than it should have been. You can't ask for more than that.

Welcome Dephin. I'm not entirely sure about Elvis yet either - he was not my favourite musketeer - as we just haven't seen enough of him - woof certainly hasn't no matter how much she protests.

Oh and woof I'm liking this idea of sweating the small stuff. As for CJ's running across Manchester it's a curious conundrum. Let's take the Sherlock approach to this...

When Elvis shimmied up the drainpipe he and Georgie agreed in conversation that they were getting married the next day. He then, most curiously, needed to drive all the way back to London to 'try on my suit' hmm - is that code for something?

Presumably as CJ and Elvis don't belong to the same regiments and probably weren't located in similar areas, CJ had agreed to meet Elvis in Manchester somewhere? I assume that when Elvis didn't show CJ must have called him or vice versa and then CJ had to leg it to the wedding venue ASAP to call it all off! Perhaps he had parked his car in the multi-storey and didn't want to pay more than the hour charge or he had left a taxi had with the meter running and he was worried about it racking up! That is of course a most ungallant suggestion. I'm sure he just wanted to catch Georgie outside to spare her distress - could he not have phoned?

Ok enough petty details. I'm sure we'll have plenty to muse about later tonight.

kazzaD66 · 14/09/2016 14:04

But then we wouldn't have had the pleasure of seeing him striding out in his No.1s. Focus up Woof, you're missing the point. Who said anything about realism....?!

Rhubarb01 · 14/09/2016 14:08

...and of course as kazza so rightly points out above all it was essential to see the Captain in his best bib and tucker at the double...

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 14:33

Thank you kaz and Rhu for that input - perhaps we needed that non-limp-on-either-leg sprint just to confirm CJ is ship-shape and back on duty (although the reasons for not resigning his commission have still to be explained depending on the still-confused timelines). Think you're right kaz - forget the realism and dramatic drama of the dramatisation and concentrate on future Elvis drainpipe access in the Kenyan outback and which side CJ dresses whilst in full sprint goes back to iplayer to re-run jilting scene

kazzaD66 · 14/09/2016 15:37

By the way, I've been enjoying the recent photos of BA being posted on the OG Army and BennA twitter feeds. I'm surprised I haven't been deafened by the sound of exploding ovaries. BlushGrin

moojangles · 14/09/2016 16:11

ilove hope you're okay. woof , rhu and kazza loving your musings. Welcome Delphin,

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 16:30

Gah! I'm too past it dim witted techno inept busy to access those pics kaz - can you put them on here for some detailed analysis of below the waist lust worthiness and I'll report back on the number of certainly non viable anyway ovaries that get blown to kingdom come Grin

kuiakaituhi · 14/09/2016 16:50

As for which side CJ dresses on, I was a littler concerned that if he ran too fast with his scabbard swinging, it might come loose and fall off. Just imagine the potential of doing himself a mischief should the sword get tangled up in those long legs!! And higher. Then there could be real problems with his voice, lisp and pitch, I'm thinking, What say youWoof?

Won't be able to watch till Sunday that's if the Beeb is kind enough to put it on YOU Tube again Or whoever the Kind OG'er from last weekendwas. More, please!!

kazzaD66 · 14/09/2016 17:09

Woof - I'm afraid I'm also far too busy totally crap at anything vaguely IT. It's taken me 18 months or more of reading this thread to finally join it and I'm about the only person I know who isn't on FB. If anyone else is more techno savvy, perhaps they could help by putting them up on here. I would hate for any detailed analysis you will undoubtedly have to go begging Woof Hmm

KeziaOAP · 14/09/2016 17:50

Special Forces in tonight's episode?

Rhubarb01 · 14/09/2016 18:38

Well I am hoping so Kezia as I think it would be an "appr'priate moment" for them to appear. I suppose we are all anticipating the obvious shock moment when GL comes face to face with Elvis - it has to happen doesn't it? Or will TG tease us with this one? Hmm

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 19:01

Ditto kaz FB has passed me by got no friends anyway - don't think anyone would be interested in who what I had for breakfast anyway. Hopefully ice will oblige with random pics you mention, or even elsie may come back to us

Aah yes kuia I'd imagine getting tangled up in that great big sword would be most pleasurable enough to make you squeal in a different tone of voice, even without the new posh top set Shock

I too have fingers crossed for special forces tonight if my luck's in and DH isn't a bell end mark II. On second thoughts maybe a bell end would be in order...

MaddieMoo82 · 14/09/2016 19:16

Evening all Smile. DS is in bed and nearly asleep thanks to only sleeping for 30 mins all day at nursery Grin he listened well to his pep talk this morning!
Have agreed with MrMads he will watch the first 45 mins of football and then we will switch over to OG... No doubt like you woof I'll have his annoying sighing and running commentary throughout Hmm
Been looking forward to it all day though. Crossed fingers for topless CJ and elvis catchup conversations.

Rhubarb01 · 14/09/2016 19:24

ooh yes Mads I'm savouring the thought of CJ and Elvis in the room together - might be interesting to hear a bit about what CJ is like when he's not being sternfaced or shouty with Two Section.

icemistOBE · 14/09/2016 19:31

There you go woof Smile

Like the first two pics but the third ones remind me a bit of Police mug shots albeit very artistic ones!

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 20:03

Ooh just the job ice thanks! Pic 1 for me - I do enjoy a furrowed ... erm ... brow and good shadow. Don't like third pics - hair is too Alan Sugar Confused

MaddieMoo82 · 14/09/2016 20:31

He's much more ahem natural in this one Blush

Ilovelblue · 14/09/2016 20:33

Evening everyone. Only about 40 minutes to go now. I was in the hairdressers earlier and thought I'd try the conversation I think most of us attempted after the previous series where we tried to enquire whether other people had watched OG. I vaguely waved my hand in the air and said I would be watching GBBO and then "that thing afterwards". The hairdresser asked "what thing?" so I said it was a programme with Michelle Keegan in it which I thought was "quite good". She said she'd seen the trailers but not watched it. End of conversation. Anyone else tried this approach yet?

Feel totally shattered today - women's problems and sad news don't mix really. My appraisal was a waste of time just as predicted but my boss is pretty good on personal things and we spent more time talking about his wife's hot flushes and suchlike than the boring work-tick-in-the-box work cr*p appraisal system.

In the OG trailer, there's a shot of Elvis-with-the-floppy-hair running so I really hope he does turn up in this episode! I need something to brighten my day, though I am sure a few shots of CJ will boost me up a bit as well.

Ilovelblue · 14/09/2016 20:37

PS: kazza welcome to the madness. You've joined at a good time! I remember lurking for a week then posting because I was desperate to find out whether Molly chose CJ or Smurf. I felt so brave when I first posted!
