Couldn't help myself, too nosy by half! Are you sulking Woof?
Thanks Nickel...you know why!
Have been doing a bit of research seeing as I can't get the show yet. Found out an interesting factoid about BA. Remember when we found out about the obscure foreign film he's into after OG? It turns out that he is cast as George Gershuin, the American composer who wrote "Porgy and Bess", with that beautiful "Summertime" song. Brilliant piece of casting, I think. He looks a lot like Gershuin. Bit of a step up from "Don't Go Breaking My Heart."

Has someone let Tony Grounds know about the Bingo??

kuiakaituhi · 08/09/2016 05:19

Spelling mistake GershWin.

Ahh, so pleased you're already with the theories NVM.

Yes, the actor who plays Osman is Nigerian, is West African

Definitely think there's back story to Elvis leaving GL at the altar, maybe someone convinced him that marriage and the SAS don't mix.

I don't know about FaceTime and/or use of personal devices in the field, both seemed a bit unlikely, I was under the impression that there were data/time allowances for each soldier. Now I must say that data and telephone coverage in Kenya is pretty excellent (I can't get a mobile phone signal in my house in UK, got 3G in the middle of nowhere in Kenya), but surely the army would be using a) secured lines b) not providing free wifi whenever anyone wanted it just to chat home.

Also her sister (?) seemed a bit too interested in her fiancée. Will she be putting herself forward as a shoulder and other parts to cry on in the future?

icemistOBE · 08/09/2016 07:03

Morning, still on a high from last night.

Not had a chance to re-watch it bit will do so over next few days.

Feeling a bit raw at moment over a few things so going to take a break from here for a while.

Morning. Hope your alright ice

I'm guessing it's going to come down to whether georgie wants to marry the 'safe' doctor or live on the edge with SAS elvis. Ooh. Had forgotten about the eager sister pix that's a point.

Rhubarb01 · 08/09/2016 07:24

Morning. Take care ice, hope you feel a little better in due course.

Welcome to ladybird and other newbies from last night. Yes it was Callum from Coronation Street playing 'Fingers'.

NVM I am really liking your analysis - plenty of food for thought there. You're right that Dr Jamie surely would have heard something about Elvis from the family. I bet the sister let's it slip at some point in the future for her own purposes. I couldn't help thinking that they were incredibly all over each other all the time. (I wonder how long they've been together?) - I did think 'leave it out' at one point - does that suggest an insecurity over the relationship?

I haven't rewatched yet but intend to do so this afternoon when no one else is around even though I successfully banned everyone from the lounge last night.

Have a good day everyone.

Alwaysfrank · 08/09/2016 07:44

Morning all. Hope you are ok ice, you have had a lot to deal with. Come back to us soon x

I've worked out I just have time to re-watch in the golden hour when the house is empty before I leave for work- so off to catch up on chores till then! I feel I missed quite a lot of details first time round!

KeziaOAP · 08/09/2016 08:10

Virtual hugs Ice xx.

Will reserve judgement on s2 there are many similarities with s1, even my DD picked up on how many scenes appear to have been lifted, she's not obsessed at all unlike some of us. DD is a fan of MK but thought LT was more believable in her role in first episode of s1. I thought CJ looked a bit lost almost as if he wondering what he was doing there, perhaps he was missing MollySmile. Waiting with anticipation for the appearance of Elvis Wink.

KeziaOAP · 08/09/2016 08:12

...... I watched back on iPlayer with subtitlesSmile

AlittleinlustwithRA · 08/09/2016 08:53

Morning.

Day off here today, so going to rewatch. For an opening episode they packed in a lot of action last night (in more ways than one Blush ) and it was a lot to take in.

Going along with the theory that Elvis was putting the SAS before Georgie or maybe thinking that Georgie would be better off without him - with him being in the SAS! He seemed too happy to run out on her without a really good reason. I don't think CJ will cheat on Molly. Obviously I may be wrong on this, but I think TG knows the army of Our Girl fans wouldn't stomach that. We all love CJ and Molly as a couple too much. Besides throwing CJ into the mix with two other love interests would overly complicate things. I'm also clinging onto the fact that when CJ entered Georgie's tent he asked if she was decent (I think) whereas with Molly he just barged in and he didn't look at Georgie in the same way as he did Molly.

Berlin585 · 08/09/2016 09:19

I didn't get chance to watch last night so have this morning and I liked it. I'm sure once we've all watched it several times we'll love it just as much as the last series. I'm loving all the theories too and look forward to watching again and spotting new stuff!

ice sending big hugs

cjwoofwoof · 08/09/2016 09:27

understandable ice - come back to us soon or check in if you fancy a little titter to forget RL for a bit Brew

Well! What an evening that was. I've got bags under my eyes that could go solo on a world tour to Australia with just hand luggage. Probably need five tubs of that £50 miracle cream just to get through to lunch without tripping over excess eye baggage.

Now I've had a chance to stew ponder into the wee hours - did I mention I'm not at all pleased with the BBC rationing our view of Elvis's magnificent obliques acting? - I'm no further forward.

Missing Lacey big time and v.worried I'll get instant decompression if Sugartits wears any more mascara on the job or does any more glamour smirks when she's supposed to be in a dangerous war situation surrounded by Old Kebabs. And so far all CJ has done is lurk about looking bloody gorgeous I grant you very important indeed and spending too much time unzipping Georgies tent flaps Shock

pixieg1rl · 08/09/2016 09:37

Hope you come back to us soon ice. In the meantime lots of love to you and yours Flowers

pixieg1rl · 08/09/2016 09:39

I'm definitely putting 'CJ knocks on Georgie's flaps' on next week's bingo cards woof. I'll be sure to credit you.

Are we doing a group watch along in the next week?

Heligirl79 · 08/09/2016 09:52

Hope you're ok ice Flowers

I agree that Georgie was wearing too much make up. I also thought that she didn't really seem to show much respect to CJ, she answered him back a lot and in front of the other captain, and CJ didn't even take her to task over it. I did find it all a bit forced, even 2 sections banter didn't seem to flow as effortlessly as it did in the last series. It's early days though.

I don't think CJ will run off with another medic, that would make him look pretty shallow and I'm still holding out for a little appearance from Molly.

Is it bad that I'm more worried about what's happened to Mansfield than I am Georgie?

There was only one thing that I really didn't like from the new series though and that's the new theme tune.

SoEverybodyDance · 08/09/2016 10:10

Take care Ice hope your OH finds something else decent in no time...

Quite a clever device of TG's to take the "sugar tits" comment of woof's and put it into the mouth of one of the most sexist/irritating characters in the program...

But that cannot make up for the fact that Michelle Keegan is still too heavy on make up and too light on character... and so far her family are a yawn too... I loved the impoverished dysfunctional Dawes family, her special brew soaked dad in his dirty underwear, her kooky nan - the slightly feckless version of an East End matriarch - and her mother's anti-war activist, camper van-driving, lesbian lover.

I'm really hoping for some super silliness from her family when they realise she's been kidnapped and left (hopefully) make-up less in the next programme.

cjwoofwoof · 08/09/2016 10:27

Ditto to all that Dancey I thought her family all a bit middle class and meh. The Dawes clan were awesome and more like my own RL tbh. Hopefully we'll see more of them later and they'll ingratiate themselves more.

And I'd be more worried about Georgie if it'd actually been her thrown in the back of that van rather than a 15st ex-boxer in scrubs

cjwoofwoof · 08/09/2016 10:59

Ooh a positive review from pix 's favourite newspaper

LyndaNotLinda · 08/09/2016 11:03

I have never understood what these threads were about in the past but finally the title makes sense Grin

pixieg1rl · 08/09/2016 11:41

I'm surprised they found space to print that what with the 20 page supplement they must be running on the Hiddleston/Swift break up and speculation about the colour of Pippa Middleton's toe nails woof

cjwoofwoof · 08/09/2016 12:12

No, no, no pix that's old news. We're much more concerned now how Rufus Sewell is "trouncing" Poldark in the ratings ... By keeping his kit ON!! Ooh my word I'm agog - who'd've thunk it there's a 'B' word in my mind and it ends in 'ox' but it must be true if the DM says so.

AT therefore should come back to me to go down drown his sorrows vairy vairy soon.

PS. Obvs I do love RS but I really don't want to see him topless tin mining at the moment thank you.

Did I mention I was appalled at the lack of Elvis flesh last night? Well I am over it now...nearly

PollyPerky · 08/09/2016 12:38

Ok, not quite an addict and def not one of this clique here but maybe can add some comments?

The female lead- looks mixed race but her parents are white...?

The sound was terrible- her lines were mumbled and incoherent at times.

What happened to the previous female lead and is she still an 'item' with CJ?

Rhubarb01 · 08/09/2016 14:42

Hi polly. We all started out being pretty serious and earnest on this thread after series 1 but just kept talking and it evolved over time to the point that it has now reached. All newbies sincerely welcome if you don't mind the madness. As much as we take a fairly lighthearted approach to it we do have a serious interest too so thanks for joining in.

I don't think I've heard that Michelle Keegan is of mixed race parentage - I honestly don't know - I assumed she just has a sort of dark haired Mediterranean type background - feel free anyone to correct me. As for the sound, some of us have said we find it hard to understand MK sometimes and I'm certainly one of the ones who struggles a bit. I think it's a problem with quite a few programmes - I find subtitles help.

It appears that Molly and CJ are still together as Molly is friends with Georgie and CJ said she was currently out in Afghan whilst some of Two Section were joking in front of CJ and Georgie about the fact that he and Molly were or had been an item. In real life Lacey Turner couldn't sort out the time due to her Eastenders contract and storylines so they had to come up with a new female lead and story.

I think we are all waiting to see how this goes over the next four episodes.

By the way it finally came to me where I knew the expression 'Sugartits' from besides woof and then I remembered that Nessa's Welsh boyfriend 'Dave Coaches' in Gavin and Stacey always called her 'Sugartits."

cjwoofwoof · 08/09/2016 14:48

Welcome polly

MKs mum is from Gibraltar I believe so that's where she inherits her beautiful looks from.

Well I for one am always totally serious on this thread Rhu as flippant, sexist and crude remarks full of innuendo are left to nick and pix and any other non-DM readers Grin
