Me!!
Although I'm only halfway through episode 3 as I'm working my way through the box set just released on Sky. So don't say anything!!!!
It is a fantastic series with incredible acting and the score has blown me away. That theme tune!
Anyway, I am desperate for the DC to go to bed so I can watch another episode although that won't work tonight as we're camping in the living room due to redecorating upstairs .Aaaagh, I'm suffering withdrawal!
Do you know what instruments are played in the theme tune? Is it a cello with violins?
I'm surprised that no one else has commented . People are missing out Grin

Tralala33 · 03/09/2016 20:03

Just finished episode 3. It's fantastic. I feel so tense watching it!

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 04/09/2016 10:28

After each episode my chest hurts. I think I'm fluctuating between holding my breath and breathing normally without even realising it Grin

Missanneshirley · 04/09/2016 23:16

Just finished episode two, isn't it good? And I have NO clue what's going to happen which I really like in a programme!

WatcherOfTheNight · 05/09/2016 02:50

Thanks for mentioning this,I've not even heard of it until this thread.

Indiaplain · 05/09/2016 20:33

We are only on episode 3, but I agree it's brilliant acting/ story line , everything.

midsomermurderess · 06/09/2016 16:24

Good isn't it. Riz Ahmed is perfect for the role. Whatever happens, he's never going to be free of prison.

Delatron · 06/09/2016 17:36

Oh this is brilliant tv. Likewise I have no idea what is going to happen. Haven't been this gripped by tv in a long time. Up to episode 4 now.

HeyMacWey · 06/09/2016 22:35

Just started watching - it's excellent so far.
Roll on tomorrow night :o

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/09/2016 22:39

I've downloaded it!

WatcherOfTheNight · 06/09/2016 23:40

Well I've binge watched this & thoroughly enjoyed it.
Can't believe I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere until this thread, all the crap on TV recently you'd think something like this would be well advertised.

Knightridergirl · 07/09/2016 12:14

I started the boxset last Saturday night and finished watching the whole thing at 6am Sunday! I loved this show!
Is there anyone here who's actually finished watching it?
(Don't worry, I wont give out any spoliers)

HalfWomanHalfCake · 07/09/2016 14:19

Wasn't it brilliant! The best thing I've watched for ages - loved the acting, storyline, humour (really needed as light relief!), score - everything about it, in fact. I also found it incredibly moving and am still thinking about it today, having finished watching yesterday. Final scene was beautifully low-key, I thought and fitted perfectly with the overall feel of the story. Desperate to talk about details with someone, but don't want to give any spoilers...!

Delatron · 07/09/2016 14:22

I'm going to try and have binge this weekend. Then when we've all watched it and nobody is concerned about spoilers we can discuss! Haven't been moved or affected by a series this much for a long time..

HalfWomanHalfCake · 07/09/2016 14:27

I'm up for that Delatron! Enjoy your weekend's viewing Smile

Delatron · 07/09/2016 14:46

Thanks HalfWomanHakfCake! I can't wait but I'll be sad when it's over, really enjoying it.

Knightridergirl · 08/09/2016 09:05

I just love the way it's shot; the camera angles used are something I've not seen in many tv dramas.
The opening title sequence alone is something of a masterpiece and the background score seems to stem up so much suspense.
I think it speaks to everyone in the sense of - 'What of earth would you do if you were in this situation?'
I mean, what would you have done if you were in Naz's place?

NickiFury · 08/09/2016 11:57

Best thing I have seen for ages. Always loved Riz Ahmed though. I am on episode 4.

Lorelei76 · 10/09/2016 15:20

I've just watched episode 3

I was enthralled by the first two episodes but this one, less so.

also, I could be wrong but I'm picking up a vibe of some people looking at the case and thinking "aw, this cute doe eyed young man can't have done it".
Am I imagining that? Like when the charges were read in the courtroom and some of the others waiting for charges gasped..?

Delatron · 10/09/2016 17:49

Just watched the ending and it is brilliantly perfect. Don't want to spoil it for anyone so will say no more until we've all caught up!

I think there was an element of that lorelei7. To be expected I suppose? Even though we all know murderers can have any type of look. Without giving too much away his appearance changes so much in prison.

Lorelei76 · 10/09/2016 19:41

I'm very squeamish so wondering how his jail experience might impact on that.
Hopefully what I'm about to say won't be a spoiler for anyone...look away now if you've not seen ep 3

Not sure if I'm over or under thinking it but also at this point unsure why those two lawyers want the case so much. Putting aside no prior history etc, the point is an adult has been witnessed fleeing the scene of a crime and found to have the relevant weapon on his person. This person's only explanation is "I woke up in the kitchen, don't remember a thing". Is it just for the publicity? Or in the case of the first chap, experience of a murder trial I guess?

Loyly · 10/09/2016 19:48

It was so brilliantly composed and only got better and better. That first episode would also have made a beautiful movie by itself. The whole series was so evocative and suffocatingly real. I just loved it and thought John Turturro was outstanding.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 10/09/2016 20:01

Not reading the full thread as don't want spoilers but I'm 2episodes in and totally hooked!!

Delatron · 10/09/2016 20:02

John Turturro was fantastic in this. Surely he'll get some kind of award.

In terms of taking on the case, it would have been huge for him, financially and profile wise compared to the cases he normally does. I like to think he looked at Naz that first time and saw something in his eyes too, he was drawn to him.

Although it may have looked clear cut on the surface I guess the onus is on the prosecutors to prove absolute guilt and the defence need to just show the jury that there is reasonable doubt. So a meaty, high profile case that could really go either way.

NickiFury · 10/09/2016 20:04

I think because it's a hugely high profile case. The first guy especially - John Turturro, would be taken more seriously and that would bring more business to him, less ambulance chasing for him plus a huge payout rather than the $250 here and there.
