Has anyone been watching it? Finale was last night. Fantastic I thought.

OP posts:

He wasn't feeling him for it was he, Jack said that to him. He knew he hadn't done it but the evidence was so overwhelming, I think he took the inhaler as a safety net knowing that Jack would spot it.

Also I loved that pathologist - Dr Katz was it? His court room scene was so goo as he walked them through it all.

NickiFury · 11/09/2016 21:34

Ghost I can recommend "Mad Men", "The Walking Dead" " The Tunnel" both series, if you haven't already seen them. And The Sopranos is excellent too.

Sorry about your loss xx

Lorelei76 · 11/09/2016 21:35

Dame, James played Jack for the pilot which was filmed a few years back.

To the poster looking for good TV, do you mean gritty stuff? Have you seen Happy Valley? Really extraordinary work, both seasons.

I've got True Detective lined up to watch but not sure when I'll get to it.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2016 21:35

My question was wtf was the lawyer doing? That was the only bit that I found unbelievable , that just came out of no where!Confused

Also- bit at the end when Freddy and Naz were getting high, were they just a bit too close? Were they hinting to the fact that it was only a matter of time before something happened sexually between them?

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 11/09/2016 21:38

Initially I thought that HT gave the inhaler back as he was perhaps hoping to come across as someone kind and to be confided in . However, as the series went on i started to believe that he believed in Nas's innocence. Didn't do much detective work in looking for other suspects though, at least not till the end.

NickiFury · 11/09/2016 21:38

I think there was definitely love between Naz and Freddy whether it would have gone that way I don't know, but they were like a couple weren't they? I was quite choked up when Naz left but Freddy couldn't say goodbye.

I think it sucked that the female lawyer lost everything but in the end she sacrificed everything for a man she knew was innocent.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2016 21:39

And the whole cat thing was pure, pure genius SUCH good character writing. Stone was completely and utterly believable and I almost felt my own skin burning as he scratched!

PacificDogwod · 11/09/2016 21:39

Best TV I've watched in a long time - I am so impressed.

I so enjoy an intelligent story line, slow development of plot and dramatic arc, great casting and acting....

Not seen the end yet, though; can't wait.

NickiFury · 11/09/2016 21:40

In fact they all did didn't they? Even Freddy, he had so much sway and probably wanted Naz to stay but still did everything he could to get him out.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2016 21:42

Did the female lawyer do all that on purpose so it might go to a mis trial or was she genuinely attached to Naz ? ( More than the average woman with a beating heart!)

NickiFury · 11/09/2016 21:44

No I think she connected with him and just felt so sorry for him - a sympathy snog maybe?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2016 21:46

But then the drug smuggling too?Confused

Btw,OP hope you don't mind but I've emailed HQ and asked them to put a spoiler alert in the thread title in case we spoil it for anyone?

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 11/09/2016 21:47

Loved The Tunnel, loved The Bridge, loved Happy valley . Wasn't mad about the 2nd season of True Detective and not overly keen on zombies Grin. Great suggestions though. I liked Mad Men but the misogyny ended up becoming too big a deal for me to enjoy the series.
Bloodlines on Netflix was awesome.

I never managed to watch The Sopranos, has been on My List for a looooong time, likewise Breaking Bad. DFiance was always telling me to wait for him....now i don't have to wait anymore Sad
Back to The Night Of.....where was the bit where sleaze bag stepdad threatened the lawyer's family? I must have missed that.
And really, i kbow Riz Ahmed is damn sexy but would Chandra really have snogged him, knowing about CCTV etc.

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 11/09/2016 21:51

Good point about mistrial but it doesn't sit right that yet again the female sacrifices her career for a bloke.

And the whole cat thing was pure, pure genius SUCH good character writing. Stone was completely and utterly believable and I almost felt my own skin burning as he scratched!

This ^
Freaking amazing, compulsive viewing.

NickiFury · 11/09/2016 21:51

It was when he was at the gym the step
Dad worked at. Jack was lifting weights and the step dad came and pushed the weight down on him and threatened him and his family.

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 11/09/2016 21:53

Freddy scared the shit out of me. I love this actor, in fact everybody put in flawless performances. I hope it wins some awards.

NickiFury · 11/09/2016 21:53

Do you think there's going to be another series? Where they go after the real killer? His leaving his hat at the casino definitely had some significance.

NickiFury · 11/09/2016 21:54

The bit where Freddy killed that guy was so well done, horrible, yet satisfying after what he had done.

Lorelei76 · 11/09/2016 21:54

Ghost, a less gritty suggestion but one that's lovely on many levels - Elementary. You need to stick with it to get the beauty of it - the writers and producers have a light hand - but worth it.

I also found Body of Proof very absorbing but I appreciate these two suggestions are very different than the others.

Did you watch Damages? Brilliant brilliant first and third seasons....others not quite so good.

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 11/09/2016 21:54

I saw the gym bit but when Stone confronted him and warned him off threatening his family i thought I'd missed an actual threatening episode iykwim. That makes sense though, cheers.

mumofthemonsters808 · 11/09/2016 21:59

I'm only on episode two, but I'm finding it really slow and boring. Iam having withdrawal from Nachos though, which I loved. Does it get better ?, only it has excellent reviews.

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 11/09/2016 22:00

nicki the "let's go get him" right at the end smacked of Season 2 but that could be just wishful thinking on my part.
lorelei Elementary ...i haven't seen any of that. I will look it up. Likewise Body of
Proof.
I've seen a few episodes of Damages, i liked it, also liked Scandal and How To Get Away with Murder.
Rather differently, i enjoyed Odyssey (think that was the name) with Anna Friel on Netflix. I have a bit of a pash for Anna Grin
Sorry to hijack this thread.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2016 22:00

Good point about mistrial but it doesn't sit right that yet again the female sacrifices her career for a bloke

She didn't sacrifice her career she just threw it under the nearest bus! So unbelievably un professional I found it hard to understand why.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2016 22:02

Slow and boring?!Shock

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 11/09/2016 22:08

How could you think it was slow and boring? Shock I found it totally compelling and absorbing. Different strokes for different folks i guess. If you're not hooked already I'm not so sure you'll get into it anymore.
