So nice to see his sensitivity and emotional maturity has been passed on to the next generation.

I've got a new prediction... Sonya will be a surrogate for Steph & Mark, she & Mark will grow closer over it while Toadie & Steph will feel increasingly pushed out. By the time the baby's born Steph will have moved to Fiji to be with Charlie while ignoring new baby & her other child, Toadie will be back with Dee, & Mark & Sonya will be playing happy families. Nell will be being sent back & forth across the street.

How did Mark & Sonya become friends in the first place? I understood her friendship with Lucas but Mark seems to have filled that role without them having the history, I've always wondered if they were going to make them have an affair at some point. Her carrying his much-wanted baby would probably make him pay an unhealthy amount of attention to her.

Asheth · 21/09/2016 00:01

Did I miss something about Charlie/Steph/Max? Charlie has a long visit with Steph. He returns to his dads and Steph and new boyfriend immediately plan a visit there, without running it by Max first. And Max and Philippa are the unreasonable ones for wanting a couple of weeks quality time with their son?

Rrross1ges · 21/09/2016 08:23

Oh so maybe Sonya is a surrogate for Steph and Mark (Mark's bio child), Dee comes back, she and Toadie get together. Sonya gets together with Mark to raise their child. Steph goes lesbian again.

MiddleClassProblem · 21/09/2016 09:21

I'm not sure if Toadie and see will get together but I think it will definitely throw an extra spanner in the works with Toadie and Sonya a bit rocky. I only say that as I'm not sure how long Dee is around for. I reckon there will be a kiss.

I think Sonya is just someone who has make friends but I think things will get funny with Mark and jealousy from Steph with the surrogacy. Him all over protective, maybe taking Sonya's side in things that come up etc.

This Ned storyline is already getting old. I know who the bloke it and it just doesn't sound remotely exciting.

And I want the Gold Coast stuff to hurry up. It'll be a Madison fest but then she'll be gone. Apparently Logun emerges from the dolphin pool at Sea World... Is he a merman?

scrappydappydoo · 21/09/2016 14:34

Who's idiotic idea was a surrogacy storyline? Mark and Steph have barely been together 5 mins and have made no commitment, and Charlie has only just returned back to max. And why, why do people keep pandering to steph... I mean she's nice enough but the drama that follows her.. it's like she's living in a soap opera Wink

MiddleClassProblem · 21/09/2016 16:15

"I hated living with you and your brothers so let's have a baaaybeee" (read in an Aussie accent)

Anicechocolatecake · 21/09/2016 17:42

I find it hilarious just how much Karl is telling Paige about the boxer's medical history. What about confidentiality?
And completely ridiculous that Sony might be a surrogate. No, just no!

HairsprayQueen · 21/09/2016 19:25

What a lovely coincidence that Paige starts talking to a doctor who works for a neurologist. Everything always so handy like that in Erinsborough!

I can't believe Sonya is comparing Karl accepting Susan's surrogacy to her hope that Toadie will- Karl who had completed his family and Toadie who wanted more kids but can't, it's pretty cruel to be thinking of it in my opinion.

AntheaBelveden · 21/09/2016 22:18

Maybe Mark and Steff go online to find a surrogate who turns out to be......Dee!

Or maybe not.

Asheth · 21/09/2016 23:31

Steph couldn't even live with Mark for long before she was running back to Toadie and Sonya, yet Sonya seems to think they're this mega committed couple! I actually find Mark's obsession with Charlie a bit creepy. Obviously you want your boyfriend to get on with your kids, but it seems really strange for him to start acting like his dad when the relationship is so new. I'm not surprised Max is freaked out!

Interesting to hear Susan admit to her part in Libby and Dan's break-up. I always thought they made Dan out to be the bad guy in all that!

Rrross1ges · 22/09/2016 09:16

I thought they broke up cos Dan shagged Steph.

Asheth · 22/09/2016 11:02

I think he shagged Steph the night he moved out of Libby's. Libby didn't find out for ages because Toadie pretended the baby was his and he and Steph even got married to help the illusion in one of Neighbours' most unconvincing storylines!

MiddleClassProblem · 22/09/2016 11:09

You guys remember so much! I can recall that Hannah got braces...

Aquasport · 22/09/2016 11:33

That whole sham marriage thing was utterly utterly bizarre, didn't he also bin off Sonia to do that? And now Sonia wants to give Steph a child. I wander what the writers are on.

scrappydappydoo · 22/09/2016 13:55

This is what I don't get - what is so special about steph that people will go to such extremes to keep her happy...

BusMum79 · 22/09/2016 14:32

I know any mention of Paige just infuriates us all instantly but DEAR GOD WHY is she so bloody involved in this Angelina thing?! Butting in and noseying around during the family's private moments. FFS

mrswhiplington · 22/09/2016 15:00

Have I missed something? Why would Steph need a surrogate mother for a baby? Is she not able to have any more children? Does she even want one? Is Sonya just sticking her nose in again? So many questions.Grin I missed an episode this week, not sure what was going on.

ReggaeShark · 22/09/2016 15:27

Is there a single story line atm that isn't completely ridiculous?

(Steph wd have to stop taking her meds if she got pregnant.)

AntheaBelveden · 22/09/2016 15:29

Karl (The only doctor in Australia â„¢) told her that due to her medication and past history with PND and cancer having a baby is probably not the best idea in the world.

No shit Sherlock, years at medical school to learn how to state the bleeding obvious.

mrswhiplington · 22/09/2016 18:42

Thanks Reggae and Anthea, it makes sense now. For what it's worth I don't think Mark and Steph will last anyway, he's too nice for her. She doesn't even want to live with him, never mind have a baby with him.Confused

Asheth · 22/09/2016 19:36

BusMum79 I spent the entire episode shouting at the TV! yes, Paige - butt out. Stop acting like you're Angelina's best friend. You barely knew her and didn't even like her. Did no one point out to Paige before the op that it was risky and might kill her? Angry

Is it true that in Australia, that you can legally only be a surrogate if you are definitely finished with your own family? How is that even enforceable?

I thought Karl was very casual about the whole thing, going on about what a wonderful thing it is to do and nothing about the emotional and physical cost, as if a pregancy is no more than a night's babysitting.

Aquasport · 22/09/2016 19:49

Why is Steph not fighting for access to Adam Confused

HairsprayQueen · 22/09/2016 19:57

I know everything has to be solely focussed on Paige but why the fuck is no one telling her how bloody inappropriate it is for her to be at the hospital 24/7 and to fuck off. Nobody (in the show) seems to think this is beyond ridiculous or even slightly weird. Apart from the sister who is painted as the baddie. It's so frustrating.

HairsprayQueen · 22/09/2016 20:06

Ok maybe the sister is a bit bad now I've got to the end but my first point still stands and it's really making me want to switch off

TheWashingFairyatemyhamster · 22/09/2016 20:28

Quite apart from the very good question about why everyone is so desperate to give Steph the moon on a stick, can you imagine being Steph, raising Sonya 'Mayor Stickybeak''s child whilst she stares at you reproachfully every time you give them a chocolate biscuit instead of mung bean stew. Not to mention applying to adopt said child the minute you show any signs of 'the mad' Shock
