Netflix 8 episodes.

Reminsent of the following Super 8, ET, American Horror Story, Twin Peaks.

Seventies/Eighties Nostalgia mixed with Paranormal

Just want to talk about it now. I've put Spoilers in the thread title just in case there ends up being some and people get aereated

Timtam that would certainly explain the mess in my house. I'll maybe tell people before they come round, "oh, by the way, I live in the upside down, so like, excuse the snow, clutter and tentacles".

When my DC were little my Mum used to say that it looked like a bomb had gone off in my sitting room. So for several years as she walked in the door I would say "The most extraordinary thing happened just before you got here, a bomb unexpectedly went off in the sitting room and scattered toys everywhere."

It's the feckin playdoh...... Anyhew, totally loved this series. Loads of really jumpy bits which reminded me of watching horror films in the 80s when I was about 12 and far too young (Nightmare on Elm Street etc..)

Dr Brenner is not dead.
I paused the screen to read the clippings (yes, I know, I'm a saddo)
and he was mentioned in the cut off sentence Dr Brenner denied...
Have just checked online and an interview with Matt Duffer confirms a cut away shot would have been a disappointing exit for Matthew Modine so yes, there's a possibility we will see him again (delighted, I remember him from Full metal jacket and Married to the mob. Like Christian Slater, I do like a comeback).

I love that both Winona and Christian are back with an awesome TV series!

Thanks to whoever got me onto this ^ but it's great. The duffer twins basically give their take/inside info on each episode. They are not in order but just look for introducing/ep 2,3 etc (ie you can read them in order) and they are fascinating.
Am obsessed with this show. Golden globes and Emmys all round 2017.

Bumping this because I've just finished watching and am quite obsessed. I cannot believe how great an actress Millie Bobby Brown is. Eleven was the Demigorgon, right?

Well more that the Demigorgon was the manifestation of her terrors - an embodiment of her. She's given a flower by evil scientist, then sees the monster for the first time (in the tank thing) - which has a flower shaped face. She says herself to Mike that she's the monster. Only she can kill the monster, etc.

But she also saw that man speaking Russian (?) though maybe she'd had contact with him in the lab.

I just can't figure out where she "went". They seemed to be using her to find people and listen in.

Molly Bobby Brown ws outstanding in Intruders. I loved that show but it has been canceled. She played an elderly guy as herself. They way she hooked her trousers up when sitting down (as if she was in a tailored auit) was creepy.

Loved this. As it's been mentioned below, I may look at Bloodline.

Jimmy Fallon ST cast segments

There was a man speaking Russian? I missed that completely.

I love those Jimmy Fallon clips - the kids just all seem genuinely sweet and nice.

I was blackberrying today and I found a portal to the Upside Down which I feel compelled to share.

Well chatting about plot points, I definitely don't have all the any answers!

Yes I thought Eleven was the monster too, something about the way she said she'd created the monster, and seemed very guilty about it, she knew all about the upside down... I definitely had that impression.

When we didn't see Brenner be killed DH and I both said he might still be alive.

Definitely hoping Eleven is still around and that's what Hopper was doing.

Who thinks Brenner was her actual Dad? I didn't, DH did. I can't believe someone would do that to their own child but of course, it's just a story.
I thought she was Hopper's child too, then that women they went to visit.
(DH agreed but said it still could be Brenner's daughter too!)

I loved Barb, she looked so familiar and I thought I'd seen her in something else. When I saw that Buzzfeed trivia thing it said it was her first acting job!

Just started watching it tonight. Watched four episodes ITS AMAZING but now I can't go to bed!!! DH is away what was I thinking!!!

I love how the kids get on so well in all the publicity spots.

But what was that 'plane' she went to in the grim water capsule thing? Her sub-conscious?

Which somehow brought the Demigorgon out as well as the Russian.

Think I'll watch it again, without jumping in fear every 4 minutes

What a fantastic show, loved so many bits especially the bit where everyone freaking out in the school last episode and the kids just go its the demogorgon so matter of factly! Casting was excellent Winona Ryder was so believable as the mum.

I thought the eggos were left for eleven and heard the second series is now shooting please let it be as good as this one!
