Ok, so who is the baby daddy?

OP posts:
CalmItKermitt · 16/07/2016 11:07

I thought it was well done apart from the swinging between gasping for breath/dead chatty thing.

Surely if you'd been stabbed (by what looked like a potato peeler) you'd barely be able to breathe for pain? Let alone speak!

Any medics about?

MadHattersWineParty · 16/07/2016 11:16

Same, I would have thought there'd be a period of not being able to speak/semi concious then unconscious before just going from 'tell the kids I love them' to dead!

Rachel0Greep · 16/07/2016 12:01

She did have a lot to say alright Grin.
The only reason I was sad is because I am sorry that Paula Lane is gone, and David and Kylie were great together.
What was the point (sorry) of the champagne bottle smashing? Just for dramatic effect? Or that the knife alone wouldn't have done so much damage.

youngestisapsycho · 16/07/2016 12:03

The champagne represented the celebration of her new life, and then it was shattered!

Knittedfrog · 16/07/2016 12:08

I thought it was a shard from the bottle. Was it a knife!?

youngestisapsycho · 16/07/2016 12:18

Yeah, you saw him with the knife in hand just before he ran off.

Clawdy · 16/07/2016 12:59

Extremely unlikely that he would whip out a knife on a street with people about, near a shop where he's been hanging around and would be instantly recognisable. Death by champagne bottle would be far more believable!

Rachel0Greep · 16/07/2016 13:19

I think for big scenes like this, they should have more of the residents appearing. Did anyone even peer out from the pub or shop on hearing the ambulance, I don't think so.
Realistically, Norris would be first out to poke his nose in.

I presume it was kept quiet what the final scenes would entail, and I presume actors are just not on set, but they could surely record them, separately, and pull the scenes together.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 16/07/2016 16:05

I'm very underwhelmed. So they lied about it being something never done before when it was actually something that had happened within the same family. Also it was ridiculous how chatty she was right to the end.

Wishfulmakeupping · 16/07/2016 19:04

Still need to catch up on last nights but just read this about returning characters I'd completely forgetten Ken had another son how many dc does he actually have?! www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3693404/The-rovers-return-Three-Coronation-Street-favourites-set-make-comeback-cobbles-expands-SIX-episodes-week.html

CoolCarrie · 16/07/2016 19:28

Kylie certainly had a very long death scene. If she was stabbed in the lung, she wouldn't have the breath for such a long conversation, and if it was her heart, she would have been a goner right away! Still I would imagine the actress wanted to make the most of her last scene😀😥😉

SaggyNaggy · 16/07/2016 19:41

I think I found David's inspiration.....

unimagmative13 · 16/07/2016 20:43

Looked like she was stabbed in her shoulder

OutOfAces · 16/07/2016 22:00

Ah ok. I didn't realise it was being played out in real time. I thought because Kylie went from staggering about / chatting to death that a longer time was supposed to have passed. Guess the ambulance didn't take that long then.

If it was before 6 though there's a good chance someone could have been in the medical centre (our local one closes at 8), and they may be more use than Roy! But I guess that wouldn't fit with soap law that the any person requiring medical assistance must be assisted by someone from the street. although Zeedan's girlfriend is a nurse

southeastdweller · 16/07/2016 22:05

I really liked Toyah and Brian so I'm glad they're coming back. Looks like the show is back on the up thanks to the new producer.

theliverpoolone · 16/07/2016 22:06

Glad I wasn't the only one to think it was ridiculous how chatty she was - that really spoilt the drama of it for me. And also how unlikely it was that Norris wouldn't be there.

theliverpoolone · 16/07/2016 22:08

What, Brian's coming back?! He was almost as wooden as Ken!
I wonder if Becky will come back for Kylie's funeral - and how they'll explain it if she doesn't Hmm

theliverpoolone · 16/07/2016 22:12

Oops, wrong Brian - I was thinking of Gail's Brian, who obviously can't come back as he was also stabbed to death Blush.

MargotLovedTom · 17/07/2016 10:37

As Pp mentioned the "Hi Gail!" was ridiculous. "Hi Gail, park yer bum and get comfy, I'm just lying here waiting to die. Maybe Roy could bring us a cuppa while we're here?"

It was moving and ridiculous all at the same time.

eddiemairswife · 17/07/2016 11:35

Kylie's long dying speech was more suited to someone in a Victorian novel who was suffering from consumption.

Kirriemuir · 17/07/2016 11:52

It made me cry but why didn't someone go to the medical centre for help. It's at the end of the street FFS.

Rachel0Greep · 18/07/2016 07:12

Her dying speech was far too long. The 'hi Gail' was ridiculous.

What a great twist it would have been if the viewers didn't know that she was going to die.

southeastdweller · 19/07/2016 14:21

Apparently the new producer is planning an explosion for later in the year and one character is going to be killed off.

SaggyNaggy · 19/07/2016 14:46

If there is an explosion I hope it takes put half the cast tbh.

Maybe Sean could have a party and invite Caz, Izzy, Maria, chesney, all the Nazirs, Robert, Tracy....

In fact just keep:
Roy, Mary, Tim, sally, Norris, maybe Steve, Kev and Anna.
