Ok, so who is the baby daddy?

OP posts:
Woodhill · 23/07/2016 17:06

Why in Soaps is contraception not used. Leanne is a grown woman not a teenager so should know better. Steve is a married man. Not so bad with someone like Robert as he is a free agent.

mollie123 · 23/07/2016 17:39

Steve's acting is getting worse - he may be OK when fussing the dog and being funny but he is useless at dramatic story lines
cannot bear to watch any more when this particular story unfolds - why on earth did Leanne have to tell Steve if she did not want any contact with him re baby Hmm - and I thought it might get better but it won't untill they get rid of half the cast and go back to realistic characters with some back story to them!

Clawdy · 23/07/2016 17:45

I know Steve is popular on here, but he really isn't a good actor, he can't do emotion!

southeastdweller · 23/07/2016 18:01

I said as much on the other thread recently. He's no match for Jane Danson in their scenes together.

Optimist1 · 23/07/2016 18:08

Agreed - his scope doesn't go much beyond Perplexed and Bemused these days. When Lloyd was around at least there was a bit of fun.

Clawdy · 23/07/2016 22:10

Yes, he should stick to a bit of banter in the cab office.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 24/07/2016 15:29

Yeah he's funny but no good at serious acting. Horrible storyline.

grannyinwaiting · 25/07/2016 20:00

How appalling is the actor playing Caz??? She really is bad.

unimagmative13 · 25/07/2016 20:12

Soap writers interpretation of a gay lifestyle.

3 gay people in one street. A & B are a couple, couple split up, one of them is now linked to person C.

Or

Person A is straight. Has an affair with person b, person c waiting in the wings for one of them.

unimagmative13 · 25/07/2016 20:15

Also I've noted no one plans to fall pregnant. No couple has that discussion. Either they fall pregnant by accident or are infertile.

No one tracks their fertility, no one talks about the 2 weeks wait. No one plans to have sex at fertile times. No one tests on the day they are due a period.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 25/07/2016 20:24

Unimagmative UNLESS they have a miscarriage, then they always try and have another baby straight away.

unimagmative13 · 25/07/2016 20:38

No one waits until 12 weeks to tell anyone. Everyone knows as soon as you piss on a stick (usually because you've left it lying around)

eddiemairswife · 25/07/2016 21:23

So what caused Leanne's 'agonising' stomach pains?

Housemum · 25/07/2016 21:57

Leanne's reasoning behind no contraception was her thinking she couldn't get pregnant after the PID, as she was actively trying and couldn't fall pregnant.
Really can't see how she would be with Steve when they barely speak.
Now, she was hard up so she could have gone back to her old job for a night then it turns out to be someone significant. that might almost have made sense. But she was looking pleased so it should have been someone she knew - which could only have been Nick or Robert, Zee wouldn't ditch his principles and also go with his almost stepmom. Crap storyline badly thought through with no lead up.
Where has Fay been hiding, too? Presume the actress has had exams, but no mention of her - the odd comment from Anna in the cafe would keep her in the show e.g. commenting to Bethany about how Faye has all these exams to come, or Craig asking how she is - after all they were friends.

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 25/07/2016 23:18

Agreed - his scope doesn't go much beyond Perplexed and Bemused these days.

To be he does 'world weary' and 'hangdog' quite well too.

eddiemairswife · 26/07/2016 16:57

I was wondering about Leanne's money arrangements. She doesn't seem to be working at the moment. I suppose Peter pays something towards Simon and she'll get Family Allowance or whatever it's called nowadays, but there's never any mention in Corrie about signing on.I noticed she mentioned sisters at one stage And I was a bit puzzled then remembered they would be Eva and Toyah, who I read is returning sometime. (had to check this was the spoilers thread before I posted).

desperatehousewife21 · 26/07/2016 17:36

God that army girl can't act at all.

grannyinwaiting · 26/07/2016 17:38

She really really can't! When she was crying all over Maria in the salon I was cringing

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 26/07/2016 17:53

Eddie I don't think she can sign on as she left her job voluntarily. That said, for someone in a precarious financial position, she doesn't seems to worry about money much. Mind you, in the booming micro-economy anyone and everyone can get a job on the street at a drop of the hat. Even when skint, you can afford to spend every night in the Rovers belting down pints.

Housemum · 26/07/2016 18:24

It's obviously not that grim oop north :)

SoTheySentMeA · 29/07/2016 19:43

10 pages in and i'm only just place marking you guys talk fast!

OSETmum · 29/07/2016 19:58

What on earth were Simon and the other almost teenagers doing at what Billy called 'playgroup'? Surely playgroup is for toddlers? And even if it's for children, all of those children are far too old to be there! Plus has Todd got a CRB check? Have they considered ratios?

Optimist1 · 30/07/2016 08:59

And if Billy and Todd were the only two adults there how could both of them leave the group to search for Amy, Simon and Aadi when they were messing about outside the cab office?

Clawdy · 30/07/2016 11:55

So Becky is missing her sister's funeral because of an inner ear infection. ....hmm. And she missed Hayley 's too. I know it's very difficult once an actor leaves, but there must be a better way of doing it.

Woodhill · 30/07/2016 19:39

The play scheme is verging on ridiculous, they are at secondary school fogs
