Jason leaving has to help, he is more wooden than a clothes peg.

I wish Kym Marsh was properly leaving too - I feel they are taunting us with what could have been with all this cruise ship talk.

He's definitely dead!

What I don't understand is how they got hold of the building from the council in the first place. Did they buy it or are they supposed to pay for it once the flats have been sold? Seems a bit unlikely.

Akire · 19/11/2016 16:04

Hope he's not dead but ageee it's not looking great. Are we going to get competive grief Gail-Michael David-Kyle. on positive side there now only 7 instead of 9 people in the house.

absolutelynotfabulous · 19/11/2016 17:44

If the buillding site's dodgy, how come 30ks' worth of tiles were being delivered?

Spin789 · 19/11/2016 17:47

I thought the same Symphony, I don't understand whether they've actually bought the building.

Absolutely, I think Eileen ordered them, she's in charge of designing the interior or something.

loinnir · 19/11/2016 17:55

Eileen bought the tiles - Vinny went mental. The whole scam makes no sense. A huge building that size would presumably cost millions - does it have an absent owner and they falsified deeds to get it? We were never told I think. They got planning from the council - surely they would have checked that out? Why did anyone pay a deposit without securing a mortgage (Sarah, Alex etc) ? If say 10 people paid deposits of £15k that makes £150k - 75k each - hardly enough to live in luxury in Mexico for the rest of their lives. As David wisely pointed out to Sarah- why did she not buy an already built flat to move in sooner than wait to have one built?

Akire · 19/11/2016 18:11

The scam was silly, everyone on street rents in crowded houses because can't afford anything. Yet Alex and SArah both work part time for mim wage and think would get a mortgage.

eddiemairswife · 19/11/2016 19:01

I assumed the tiles were due to be delivered this coming Thursday, by which time I thought Phelan and Vinnie had planned to leave. This is because the open day for prospective residents was due to be held then. Know nothing about building, but perhaps the tiles were going to be paid for after delivery.

absolutelynotfabulous · 19/11/2016 19:09

Thanks for clarifying tiles issue. Yes, I suppose, even if they had been ordered and delivered, they could be paid for later.

15k sounds a small deposit to me. Presuming the buyers would need a mortgage too I haven't seen any evidence of banks, solicitors etc.

What does Sarah do for a living? How on earth is she supposed to get a mortgage? The flats must be potentially worth 150k?

Akire · 19/11/2016 19:18

Eileen paid for tiles already using company cheque book. She wasn't supposed to spend any money Phelan was not pleased. She had to buy them on the day or lose big discount. So they are stuck with them

SymphonyofShadows · 19/11/2016 19:50

The building must have been council-owned as Alex's daycentre was housed there. It's a typical badly thrown together storyline

Rachel0Greep · 19/11/2016 20:03

Just watched second episode, not sure why I bothered although I think Phelan is very well played. None of the rest made sense. Anna and Michael trying to take on Phelan, puh-lease! Gary seems to be over whatever it was that he suffered from when he attempted to kill Phelan before, and Anna had to save the day by agreeing to sleep with Phelan.
I liked Gemma and Rita's scene. I will be looking forward to seeing how Rits dresses her!
And finally, where is everyone sleeping in Ken's house! Grin

FantasticButtocks · 19/11/2016 21:35

My god, why is Anna so stupid? She had the phone, total proof of all the dodgy goings-on, so what did she do? She invited Phelan to her flat? Where she was all alone, with no plan whatsoever, not even recording the conversation ffs, and she had his bloody phone in her pocket with the sound on? It's just too unbelievable, given that she was so pleased when she got hold of the phone...she just pissed the whole thing away Shock

nothingreallymatters · 20/11/2016 13:01

I have been off Corrie recently, but saw the omnibus this week.
Did I hear Eileen say something about a Peter Andre concert? Please tell me he isn't going to be in it,I may have to stop watching again.

loinnir · 20/11/2016 13:08

PA is appearing at the Weatherfield Good Samaritan awards where Rita will be attending with Gemma. So yes, I think he will be in it - cringe!

nothingreallymatters · 20/11/2016 13:15

Thanks loinnir is nothing sacred? PA seems to pop up everywhere,no doubt he will be in Poldark soon down the copper mine Smile

deloresclaiborne · 21/11/2016 14:52

annas making a good recovery walking from hers over to gails she'll be back at work next week

PinkiePiesCupcakes · 21/11/2016 14:57

can I ask a question of anyone that watches any other soaps?

We only watch Corrie, my GF was the one that really wanted to watch it, I watch merely because its on (If that makes sense)

are the other soaps as stupid as Corrie? I haven't watched EastEnders for over 15 years, Emmerdale I've never watched, so I have no frame of reference as to Corries quality.

absolutelynotfabulous · 21/11/2016 16:46

There's a Welsh soap called Pobol y Cwm which is completely ridiculous.

I only watch DoctorsBlush apart from Corrie. Doctors is a bit wtf but, I think, better than Corrie.

Comedyusername · 21/11/2016 19:03

To my slight Blush I watch Neighbours and Home & Away too. They are seriously ridiculous but I'm hooked! My husband thinks I could find better ways to fill my time, but he can jog on!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/11/2016 19:19

I watch Doctors and Neighbours. Quality-wise, and I can't believe I'm saying this, Neighbours is winning hands down at the moment.

Doctors is going through its "issues" phase, where every plot has to have a current issue at the heart of it (e.g. how awful sugar is). Corrie has more holes in the plot than a ball of Edam.

Just watching this now.

When Gail, David and Sarah were in the pub, who was minding Sarah's baby?

HollowTalk · 21/11/2016 20:36

Who are these people (Daniel?) at Ken's house? And who was the guy looking through the window the other day?

minisausage · 21/11/2016 20:54

Yeah who is Daniel?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/11/2016 20:59

One is his son (the wet-looking one) and one is his grandson (cocky one). Grandson is Mike Baldwin's son with Susan.

The most shocking part of the whole flats storyline is that Todd phoned the police like a normal non-soap person would do.
