I can see Todd screwing over people for share of profits of his family are looked after. Hope Billy and Sean don't get back together it wasn't that great!

If nessa's husband is Alex's father then how is Alex getting monthly payments as her husband is dead?

That's what I was thinking. Wouldn't the payments have ceased after his death? And wouldn't Cathy have access to her late husband's financial arrangements?

I bet nessas sister was left a lump sum from the husbands will to pay Alex, but before he died surely Cathy might have noticed something on his bank statements going out each month?

I thought Cathy worked out tonight that it was her (dead) husband that is Alex's father, not Nessa's. Isn't the chap she's been door stepping Nessa's ex husband ? Cathy is therefore Alex's step mother of sorts as well as his Aunt.

I think Xmas means Cathy not Nessa?

I was thinking he opened a bank account in new haven and there's a transfer set up from that and so wouldn't have come out of his own account.

but surely whoever was responsible for probate (assume Cathy) would have to declare all bank accounts (unless he did it under an assumed name ) - and what happened to Cathy's cluttered house in a leafy suburb - so many loose ends.
We need a catastrophe on the street or a massive unravelling of the tortuous story-lines without them adding yet another one to the mix.

i thought dev and erica was going to be FWB but then its been that long ago since they have been in it i may be wrong, would she be going to the cinema to bond with the kids

Would Kathy really have left Alex in charge of the cafe? It was hardly an emergency. I noticed she used Roy's car instead of Yasmeen. Where had Roy gone?

Roy had gone for a meeting with the egg supplier . Imagine in rl going into your local cafe and the owner handing you an apron and asking you to 'just look after it for a bit' while they went out

The whole Sharif storyline is ridiculous - completely out of character and obviously now just seems to have been shoe-horned in to lead him into being fleeced by Phelan.

How is Alex supposed to be affording mortgage anyway working part time in cafe. With Roy and Kathy and Anna that's a member of staff for about 2 tables. We have Loads other adults all working full time yet cramped 4-5 in house yet a single adult is getting mortgage.

It's so unbelievable at the minute, Roy telling Kathy off for leaving alex on his own yet she trying to get a flat for him for him to live on his own!

Hope Mary doesn't give up working at the flower shop it could provide some great scenes between her and Tracey

According to the press this morning the actor who plays Sherif has been fired for rasist comments he made on Twitter.

And so he should have been. He was a crap actor anyway so good riddance.

I saw that about Sharif, wasn't sure if it would count as a spoiler, as I presume he will have to be written out hastily.

Well at least they have a reasonable set up to allow for that - presumably he can go off with Mina from Eastenders.

Delighted to read about Sharif going. It said his character will be minimised until he can be written out, so I presume the affair storyline will have a quick denouement.

The article I read on Sky News said he is 45 years old, surely that must be a mistake?!

So bizarre when actors who are in the public eye do these kinds of things on social media. Maybe he just was angling for the sack as he hates his crap storylines!

I can't understand these people in the public eye who post stuff like this on Twitter, or post naked selfies to strangers (Brooks Newmark MP for instance). I think they must be drunk at the time.

We've been debating his age on the Spoilers thread and someone there says he was born in 1941, although widely reported as being totally unbelievable 45yrs old .

I agree, eddiemairswife - they surely can't be in full use of their brain cells when they do stupid stuff like that. Useful warnings for our youngsters about the consequences of posting before thinking, though!
