I wish Kym Marsh was properly leaving too - I feel they are taunting us with what could have been with all this cruise ship talk.

It should have been Roberts baby that would have been a better storyline.
It could have caused tension between Robert , Nick and Tracey .
I hate how they have picked Steve randomly , Steve and Leanne hardly ever talk

Ugh Steve was horrible tonight. Stupid storyline. I wish it had been Nicks and they could have just been happy together!

Also, I know it's not really relevant to tonight's storyline, but I hate how Dev has Mary as a childminder / nanny. Seeing as she once kidnapped Norris, I don't think he'd deem her suitable for the position....And Norris isn't the type to let that drop!

Ok, I don't really hate the fact that she is his nanny, I find it more funny that they have overlooked that detail. What happened to her motorhome?

The motor-home was another story that was left up in the air; it was towed away, but there was no follow up. We don't know if she retrieved any of her possessions, and it was never mentioned by anyone again. Also what has happened to Maria's husband? Neither she nor Luke seem bothered , but what was the point of it? She married him so he could legitimately come to this country, but now he has vanished.

So sad the father's Steve. Just causing another train crash for the hell of it. It would have been so much more believable, and could be equally creative, had it been Robert.

Liked the way they did the unveil though - with all the potential fathers being in the Rovers.

When I predicted on this thread a while back that Steve was the dad I was actually joking, I didn't think the scriptwriters could possibly be so stupid. If I recall correctly he stopped Michelle from leaving in a taxi in the same episode (or very shortly after) he slept with Leanne. So he literally stepped from her bed and ran to make decelerations of love and devotion to Michelle within minutes. Makes NO sense.

Simon and Amy will now be cousins who share a half sibling

They aren't true cousins though, as Peter is Ken's son and Tracy is Deirdre's daughter, they aren't blood relations.

Steve being the dad is so stupid.
I had to laugh 'I have a full pub' says he.
Back in the pub, the usual suspects, I think one person could manage the serving quite easily.
Just as well because after arguing with Leanne in the back room, where of course Michelle could walk in, and did, Steve then sits down, and that was the end of worrying about the 'full pub'.

AnneEyhtMeyer - my recollection is that Ken adopted Tracey and therefore Simon and Amey are legally true cousins, although not blood relations

He did city, but what I meant is that they aren't blood related, which makes it less bad in my head.

Tracy always refers to Peter as her brother and vice versa so to all intents and purposes their kids are first cousins but take your point, they are not blood relations.

First episode under the new producer will be transmitted on Aug 15th apparently.

I definitely think it's improving too...slowly. Hopefully the writers won't mess up Kylie's funeral and wake scenes next week.
