It's here!

That would make sense, Every, given all the "isn't Lyanna good on a horse" type stuff in the flash backs

Another Q - I keep seeing (on other sites) pp saying that Bran wards into a dragon. That's just the books -so far anyway- right? I've not missed that on the show?

EverySongbirdSays · 06/07/2016 01:53

He hasn't warged into a dragon book OR show at this point - people are speculating he will though - although it is doable I think it's unlikely and hot air. I think, by law of direwolf - only Arya and Jon will be alive by close of play. I don't know that Bran will ever see them again.

Thanks

Bran to merge into the weir wood tree as per the previous TER, but perhaps will "see" his family (hopefully happy)?

ScarlettInSpace · 06/07/2016 07:28

Hi everyone Smile

I just wanted to make a point about varys & the Dornish/Tyrell ships with Dany.

She can't have met them on the way as a PP suggested - the whole reason she needed allies with ships was to transport all her troops from Meereen so varys must have led them out to her.

Given that in t'olden days a voyage from the UK to (eg) Egypt would have only taken a couple weeks, it's pretty plausible imo, but I do adopt the standpoint that if you analyse the GoT timelines too much they fall to shit Wink so you have to accept Gurm's explanation that they don't necessarily run concurrently, and I felt the Dany shot at the end was a bit flash-forwardy to be honest.

Oh and I think iron born should sound like vikings, Euron was pretty spot on for me!

Middleoftheroad · 06/07/2016 07:48

Scarlett I've always imagined them with Irish accents! Funny how we all interpret theae things differently. Good point re Varys and co.

AliceInHinterland · 06/07/2016 09:15

I always thought the Iron Born were Viking-y too, but they are to the west looking at the map. They are pretty tiny though, no wonder Dany was happy to give them up! (As I think a PP noted).

CaitAgusMadra · 06/07/2016 10:06

I've also thought of them as Irish too. The Aran Islands are off the west coast of Ireland (sounds very like Iron in an American accent). Not well known for piracy though Grin

Every there is a theory that Lyanna may have competed in the tourney at Harrenhal disguised as the Knight of the Laughing Tree. This isn't proven though - more details below
http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/KnightofftheLaughinggTree

This may have been how Rhaegar and Lyanna met - King Aerys sent his son to find out who the mystery knight was

AdultingIsNotWhatIExpected · 06/07/2016 12:04

"Not well known for piracy though"

The west of Ireland is very well known for it's prirate queen, Grace O'Malley

AliceInHinterland · 06/07/2016 13:20

Nice link Cait I want a whole episode at the Tourney.

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 06/07/2016 13:47

Why would the casting for 10yo northern boy and girl indicate the tourney flashback? And surely they have cast both child and young adult ned and lyanna now?

CaitAgusMadra · 06/07/2016 14:54

Did Meera tell the story of the tourney on the show? Must do a rewatch before S7

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 06/07/2016 16:19

I always thought the Iron islands were the Hebrides. But I am Scottish and therefore biased.

EverySongbirdSays · 06/07/2016 16:22

Wonders where Adulting is from and whether we're "origin" pals......

Yeah I badly need to do a rewatch.

I could so have cried when I discovered that 1-5 were NOT on Boxsets

WHHHHHYYY?

ScarlettInSpace · 06/07/2016 19:40

Hmm I know the iron islands are respectively in the region of Ireland, I just see them as very vikingy, all that grumpy raping and pillaging they do Grin, Irish pirates would seem a bit more ummm jovial Grin

ScarlettInSpace · 06/07/2016 19:41

geographically Italic fail Blush

CaitAgusMadra · 06/07/2016 19:51

Now I'm wondering about where both adulting and every are from! As you may have guessed from my username I'm from that neck of the woods myself Wink

EverySongbirdSays · 06/07/2016 19:58

I'm from THE WEST Wink

I was born here, yet I consider it "home"

waterhorse123 · 07/07/2016 17:11

I have a theory. Was given the book The World of Ice and Fire for my birthday and am busy reading all the history of Westeros. I got to page 115 on Aerys the Mad King and it sort of suggests he had an affair with Joanna Lannister, Lord Tywin Lannister's wife (and cousin). Now my own son has suggested that Tyrion might be Aerys's son but I think this is all wrong. No, it is the twins, Jaime and Cersei, who are Aerys's children. Twins run in the Targaryen house, they are both blonde and clearly Cersei has now down just what the Mad King wanted to do, i.e. blow up King's landing which is what Jaime stabbed him in the back to prevent.
Also, suggestions are that Tyrion is the one who will kill Cersei, as predicted once, but my son and I both think it is going to be Jaime as she has now done what he killed Aerys for wanting to do.

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 07/07/2016 17:33

Ooh ooh if cersei was aerys' offspring then the valonquar could be daenarys!!

BeyondVulvaResistance · 07/07/2016 17:34

Oo, I like that idea !!

calamityjam · 07/07/2016 20:29

But, doesn't valonquor mean "Little brother" in old valyrion?
