Jon's hair is meant to be brown like the other Starks, not black. But they loved Kit Harington's locks too much to change it.

I saw the Mountain's face. It was the actor's normal face just a bit bluer. Like Benjen but darker shade of blue.

The Mountain has a history of torturing women, as PP pointed out Elia Martell, his wife, his sister... Poor Septa Unella.
Cersei said "shame" because this what the septa was chanting during her walk of shame.

No Gendry got away not Pod. Pod has nothing to do with the baratheons apart from being the help.

Also lets not forget what the mountain did to his own brother as a child

Pod is not a Baratheon - he is a Payne ( minor family loyal to the Lannisters which is how he originally ended up as Tyrions squire)

Re. Jons hair colour:
Rhaegar, Viserys and Dany all had the typical Targ looks - blond hair. They were 'pure' Targ as Aerys married his sister Rhaella.

Rhaegar married Elia of Dorne who was dark haired. Their daughter Rhaenys was also dark. It's not known about Aegon as he was so young when he died.

Lyanna was shown as very dark haired in the Tower scene so totally plausible in GRRM genetics world that Jon Snow would be dark

I agree it makes no sense that Jon had to be kept secret from Robert if he had been Roberts. Robert would have done anything for him, and that might have included asking Ned to raise him away from danger and backstabbing of kings landing, but that's not the case is it?

I said a while back that Pod is being groomed for greatness, and will end up a Ser - which would make him more eligible than now (as well as a better age, not that that matters it seems)

I love the theories. Then I get confused as to what we actually know and what's speculation. Sorry.

Gendry HAS to come back in to it now that Cersei has declared herself Queen. Someone devious (Littlefinger? Varys? Tyrion?) is going to pop up with Gendry and declare that he has a better claim to the throne than Cersei what with being the actual son of King Robert, even if he was a bastard. And then there's going to be carnage and civil war, again. Just like the Wars of the Roses. I think that will have to happen before Dany arrives, because she has dragons and will just fry any pretenders to the throne. Oooh, what if Euron Greyjoy secretly has Gendry - having picked him up rowing?

So OFFICIAL BARATHEON LINE OF SUCCESSION IS AS FOLLOWS :

ROBERT->JOFFREY->TOMMEN->MYRCELLA->STANNIS->SHIREEN->RENLY

All of these people obviously are dead

OFFICIAL TARGARYEN LINE (in show)

DAENERYS -> DORAN -> TRYSTANE

Obviously Doran and Trystane now dead too

We have GENDRY "Storm" who is a bastard on a boat somewhere. And Dany who has been usurped and who needs to win it back by force.

So we have to go back to the Baratheons for the next heir

That picture of the Mountain's face looks like Robert Baratheon to me. Is it supposed to be him or am I imagining it?

Oh, I have another theory - the midwife/attendant in the Tower of Joy is Meera Reed's mother, whose name I forget. I'm a bit confused by the presence of the Kingsguard - who was king at that point? Wasn't it still Aerys? Why wouldn't they let Ned in without a fight? Was Lyanna a prisoner? If Rhaegar had borrowed Ser Arthur Dayne from his father to guard Lyanna, why wouldn't they let her brother in to see her?

DP after (reluctantly) watching all six seasons said, as Cersei was crowned "so do that lot (the lannisters) hate the starks then? " priceless!

Nearly every key character was decked in black - not unusual for stark or those in mourning but even Dany wore two black numbers. Hats off to the wardrobe dept.

I accidentally posted the above on a cat thread first which no doubt left MNs as confused as Walder Frey at feeding time!
