How do you figure that?

Were the Lannisters related to the Targaryens? Or to the Baratheons?

EverySongbirdSays · 27/06/2016 22:26

Thronecast is on for an hour tonight folks

Cersei was still queen mother though wasn't she? Made sense for her to just slip back in

MaterofDragons · 27/06/2016 22:31

Great ending to the season. The King in the North!

I loved the bran/tommen parallel, very fitting as it was Cersei who wanted bran dead.

I think Tyrion's in love with dany.

RJnomore1 · 27/06/2016 22:33

Jon as Roberts son makes odd sense with the hair colour of Roberts children being such a big thing in the first few series.

Felascloak · 27/06/2016 22:33

mashable.com/2016/05/03/game-thrones-heir/#zBKAqj23Quqw found a post about Cersei, still not convincef

PonyoLovesHam · 27/06/2016 22:37

Excellent episode! I love lady mormont, she is a true scene stealer.

Please can someone tell me who's face the mountain had. And (although it sounds horrible) what on earth he did to the "shame" woman?! Cersei said she wouldn't die yet so I'm wondering if she's just going to torture her until she dies... Confused

EverySongbirdSays · 27/06/2016 22:37

There's a Baratheon/Lannister link somewhere.

RE Robert being Jon's father.

BIG FAT NOPE.

  1. Robert had a shit load of bastards and didn't give a fuck of these Edric Storm was acknowledged but there were others too, like Gendry, as was listed in Jon Arryn's book. Had Jon been his bastard by Lyanna he'd have fucking loved the bones of him, because he loved Lyanna. He'd have been Jon Storm and probably prized beyond his children by marriage.

  2. Lyanna was highborn and betrothed to Robert. Therefore in Robert's head, he shags around with the wenches but Lyanna is the maiden fair, the wife, the virgin. He likes it, he's putting a ring on it.

  3. Robert and Ned have spread the legacy that poor Lyanna was raped and abducted by Rhaegar. This may have been true, making Jon a rape baby. He would have undoubtedly been hated/murdered by Robert. If this is not true, and they were in love, then Ned probably knew that. Robert would've hated the baby of the man she chose over him even more.

  4. Rape baby or Lovechild, Viserys and Dany are on the run, Jon is the last Targaryen in Westeros. Banners will flock to the name and take the throne, even if that's not what Ned or Jon want. The name marks him for death the way news of Daenerys' pregnancy marked her. Better be Jon Snuuuw, Ned's bastard who went off to the Night's Watch, then the lead pawn in a Civil War.

NeedACleverNN · 27/06/2016 22:39

Torture, rape. Just about everything he can. Think about what he did to Elia Martell

See I heard a spoiler a long time ago saying Jon was always Roberts not Rhaegers because of the hair..

EverySongbirdSays · 27/06/2016 22:42

Ponyo

I think what the Mountain did to the Septa is left to the imagination. And best left there. I think we can all figure that out.

His head. We still haven't seen it properly. It's just a purply pulp so far.

Mater I thought the same about Tyrion being in love with Dany...but is he not already married to Sansa Wink

Just finished our rewatch. Soooo much more detail this time round when I could actually see the scenes shot in semi-darkness. DH is a casual viewer and didn't pay any particular heed to the Tower of Joy part! Just thought it was a mildly interesting tidbit ShockShock

PonyoLovesHam · 27/06/2016 22:45

Bit aware I sound like a bit of a wrong'un now, but that's also what I thought - it's best left to the imagination!

Right glad I didn't miss anything about his face. I wasn't sure if I should recognise it.

RJnomore1 · 27/06/2016 22:45

I can't figure a good reason why Jon would be hidden from Robert if he was his son

But the hair thing and it being such a big deal how Roberts children all have black hair and the targaryen a being so blonde?

MaterofDragons · 27/06/2016 22:45

Why did Littlefinger tell Sansa his plan to sit on the iron throne? He's never openly admitted before to anyone that is his endgame

AdultingIsNotWhatIExpected · 27/06/2016 22:47

Sansa FANCIES littlefinger!
She doesn't want to, her head hates him, but she WANTS him so much!

Felascloak · 27/06/2016 22:47

Why did Littlefinger tell Sansa his plan to sit on the iron throne? He's never openly admitted before to anyone that is his endgame
Because he's a creepy stark stalker?

NeedACleverNN · 27/06/2016 22:48

I would say he is trying to outwit Sansa slightly. He knows he is in her bad books due to the Bolton thing and if he let her in on a small part of his plan she might come round

AdultingIsNotWhatIExpected · 27/06/2016 22:51

Lets not forget Pod in all the excitment, he's also a Barathian

RJnomore1 · 27/06/2016 22:52

Someone's lightened up the mountains face

EverySongbirdSays · 27/06/2016 22:53

He has read her as ambitious and desirous of being Queen. Whether it's accurate or a misread remains to be seen.

I'm so looking forward to the following line of script

DANY (curious) : Who's THAT?!!

TYRION : That would be....... my WIFE

DANY Shock

Sooo, to recap:

Cersei has claimed the Iron Throne. Jaime is back with her looking grumpy.

Where is Dany intending to land? I think Dragonstone. Isn't there a WoW chapter published where a Martell princess winds up in Dragonstone as a hostage? I bet they take over Dragonstone and consolidate/wake stone dragons/Tyrion learns to ride a dragon before heading to King's Landing and killing off Cersei.

How long is Sam going to stay in Oldtown reading all the books in the library? And what will happen with baby Sam?

Wtf with Sansa and Littlefinger?

Where's Brienne - oooh, maybe she meets Arya!

Where's Nymeria now that Arya is back in the Riverlands?

Is the Blackfish really dead? Am starting to doubt it after that conversation.

Will Melisandre go and join up with the BWB and raise Lady Stoneheart after all? Where the crap is the Lady Stoneheart plotline going in the books? It doesn't seem to fit into anything. Arya is supposed to have a bittersweet plot - maybe she encounters Lady Stoneheart and has to kill her own mother. She's in the right general area now for a meeting, plus she knows the most about the BWB from her wanderings pre-Braavos.

That chat about Dany meeting someone who will love her - who? Who? I don't think it will be Tyrion - he may still turn out to be her half-brother (I think - son of Aerys and Joanna Lannister, plus I like the theory that Tyrion and Sansa will eventually be reunited and she will ask to sleep with him). Jon? I think there will be something with the formerly dead characters where they all die again eventually (which is not to say that Jon won't love Dany and then die tragically. Again). I can't really think of any other eligible male characters left in it Jaime belongs to Brienne, even if he does have a thing for blondes, so maybe it will be Yara after all. Although it is promised that she will have another baby and/or Drogo will be returned to her, and I have zero idea who that is going to be. Gendry? Maybe he rows into her. Looking at it from another angle, she was talking about marrying for power - who could she marry from a political point of view? Jaime is now Lord of Casterly Rock; Sweetrobin is Lord of the Vale; Jon is King of the North; Euron Greyjoy is King of the Iron Islands (although she can't marry him because she promised the islands to Yara); there is no heir to Highgarden; or Dorne; the Baratheons are wiped out apart from Gendry, who isn't high-profile enough; she's not marrying a Frey because ick; Jorah is dying of greyscale and isn't powerful enough anyway; Theon has no cock. She has to marry one of the Great Houses - Lannister, Stark, Baratheon, Arryn, Tully, Greyjoy - is that about it? There are an awful lot of dead heirs. I think out of that lot the only viable options are Tyrion or Jaime, or Jon. Or Sweetrobin/Littlefinger.

AgingJuvenileBinkyHuckaback · 27/06/2016 22:54

I don't want to dwell on what the Mountain does to the Septa, but it has to start with blinding her, that's the meaning of Cersei's "my face will be the last thing you see".

EverySongbirdSays · 27/06/2016 22:56

Pod?

Pod is House Payne, bannermen to the Lannisters

OlennasWimple · 27/06/2016 22:57

Presumably the Targaryen colorings are very much recessive genes, do they only come out when both parents are Targs. A bit of Stark (or Baratheon) DNA in there means they don't get the silver hair and violet eyes - and presumably the fire retardant skin and affinity with dragons?

The presence of the Kings Guard at the Tower must mean that the King a) knew Lyanna was pregnant with his child; and b) wanted to ensure that the baby was either safe or killed?

NeedACleverNN · 27/06/2016 22:59

Creepy photo of the mountain there....and good point about the septa re blinding. Never thought of that but he did do it oberyn didn't he?
