Barbara- no idea re bummer. I say bummer from time to time. Never really thought much of it. There is an element of MN who will find offence at anything though.
maybe Sock thinks the beard makes him look older. It didn't work for baby faced Goffin either. Jack's makes him look a bit Amish. I like beards as a rule.Beards without a tache look odd, imo.

Just reading about the fines - why was Heather Watson fined the second largest fine in Wimbledon history for racquet abuse? Was it really the second worst incident of on-court anger ever seen at Wimbledon?
