Errr...what happened to the word predictable up there!? ^^ Blush

CarlGrimesMissingEye · 20/06/2016 12:13

Oo I enjoyed that. Super.

lornathewizzard · 20/06/2016 12:26

Just skipped my chance at a nap so I could watch. At 33 weeks pregnant that's a big deal!

Predictable yes. But you never expect predictable, so therefore it wasn't predictable.

A great episode, just what the series has been needing.

Battleborn · 20/06/2016 12:26

So happy Davos finally found out about poor liitle
Shireen!

I'm happy about Jon and all that Red Eonan but I've got a photographic memory and you've gig hours coming to you bitch.

Grin
Giggorata · 20/06/2016 12:30

I was also delighted to see Greyworm in action, finally justifying the reputation of the Unsullied.

ConkersDontScareSpiders · 20/06/2016 12:38

I enjoyed the battle stuff. But I do think Jon Snow has been a bit, well, wet, throughout this season really...I've gone right off him.He just doesn't seem angry enough. And where's ghost?
Enjoyed Tyrions bits in this episode though-bit of a return to form.
Do we know where bran has gone? Was he last seen drinking a cup of hot blood prepared by uncle Benjen? What's happened to him since then?
I hope someone kills Walder Fray, he makes me feel unwell.

OlennasWimple · 20/06/2016 12:38

A complete aside: where can I get some leather trousers like Yara's? I want my arse to look like hers....

LaBelleOtero · 20/06/2016 12:39

I guess it's true about the predictability, though I feel that now GRRM isn't at the helm it will be more predictable. Normal show runners won't want to kill off their big stars.

But I shouldn't snipe, all I wanted was for Tormund and Davos to make it, and they did. And I don't want to tempt the GOT Gods!

It's interesting how pragmatic Sansa was about Rickon. I think she is going to prioritize herself above all else now. And if she is carrying a mini Sansa it might be in her best interests to marry Littlefinger asap... And Jon has very few men left if Littlefinger decides he and Sansa should be on the throne...

ConkersDontScareSpiders · 20/06/2016 12:40

I love Greyworm. He was being interviewed the other day on the radio (in his musician guise) and I loved him even more...

emilybohemia · 20/06/2016 12:49

I don't like Sansa. I think she'll turn nasty. I felt like she was slightly hoping for Jon to be killed. I think she still sees Jon as the bastard of Winter fell as her mother did. The way she didn't inform him of Little finger says she sees him as a rival. But then does this medievalesque world force her into that position? She was right when she said Jon didn't consult with her. She isn't treated as an equal.

Loved this episode. Still waiting for my heart rate to come down!

I once read Martin was inspired by the Wars of the Roses. I suppose in that time people had to be ruthless and pragmatic about losing family members or even opposing them.

CaitAgusMadra · 20/06/2016 13:06

I don't know - I didn't particularly sympathise with Sansa when she said she hadn't been consulted. She was right there during the war council with Jon, Tormund and Davos. She could have spoken up at any time but chose to wait until later and have a go at Jon. She could also have used that chat to mention the Knights of the Vale Hmm

ConkersDontScareSpiders · 20/06/2016 13:13

I wondered why she hadn't just piped up too...I can't think anyone would have been annoyed at her for doubling their army. Was it just that she didn't know if they were going to come or not so she didn't want to raise hopes?

Middleoftheroad · 20/06/2016 13:32

I too am wondering if Sansa's pregnant.

She also made reference to Jon being a bastard and she a woman, so not in line. However, I think she enjoyed telling him that. She's one to watch carefully. Also, she had already ridden off when Ramsey told Jon and co his hounds hadn't eaten for 7 days... yet she repeated that to Ramsey.

Yes, where was Ghost?

It was bloody and brutal and I loved it as much as Hardhome, Hold the Door and all other epic episodes.

Oh Baelish I have missed your smirks. I need your expressive smirks now that Ramsey is gone. That bastard simply had no pedigree.... chum!

sashh · 20/06/2016 13:38

Also, she had already ridden off when Ramsey told Jon and co his hounds hadn't eaten for 7 days... yet she repeated that to Ramsey.

Probably when he told her where he was he also added the information about them not being fed.

emilybohemia · 20/06/2016 13:42

Visit, she could have mentioned it. It's dodgy that she didn't and dodgy that they only seemed to turn up when many of them had been slaughtered!

There was a comment a few pages back about Sandra's sly smiles and how it looked like she was hoping Jon might get killed. It looked a like that to me too.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 20/06/2016 13:59

Ooh I remember my biggest "aha!" moment in this episode...

Did anyone else feel like John was being 'saved' by pure luck (or was it the Lord of Light?!) the whole time he was in battle? He ducked down and the arrows literally fell within inches all around him, but missed him; just as you thought he was going to get it someone would come and save him, etc.

I felt like it was done for more purpose than just "make the battle exciting by giving main protagonist lots of close shaves" type thing.

Or am I overthinking it? Confused

ConkersDontScareSpiders · 20/06/2016 14:02

No I thought that too saga...

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 20/06/2016 14:04

I mean Jon. I type these things too fast out of excites. Grin

Glad you thought so too, Conkers. What does it all mean?!

rollonthesummer · 20/06/2016 14:04

What a brilliant episode!

What makes people think Jamie is Arya in next week's clip?!

What will happen with Tommen etc?!
Where is Gendry?!
Could Jon be king of the north if he's a bastard or will it be a queen-Sanza?!
What have the little birds told the chap who spoke to Cersei (Name beginning with Q)
What will Sanza have to do to repay little finger (yuck)?!
When will we get to see who Jon's parents are?!
So many questions!!

CaitAgusMadra · 20/06/2016 14:07

On next weeks trailer who is the man on his knees near the start (with the kings landing trial scene)? Is it Loras minus his lovely curls? Will he and Cersei both be tried?

rollonthesummer · 20/06/2016 14:09

I thought it was Loras!

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 20/06/2016 14:10

I thnk they kept the dragons for the episode not only for the emmy (obv) but so they could double use "battle of the bastards"
As neither dany nor the slave-owners are particularly honorable.

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 20/06/2016 14:10

Yes i thought it was shorn loras

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/06/2016 14:15

Yes, pretty sure that was Loras.

Qyburn. The general view here was that he'd confirmed there are still thousands of barrels of wyldfire (sp) under most of King's Landing. Cersei is mad enough to think of using it.

Jaime/Arya: I suspect that arises out a deep-seated longing to see Walder Frey die horribly at the hands of a Stark.

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 20/06/2016 14:15

I think in the series finale...

Jon sansa etc, i have no idea. Though i do wonder about the dreadfort
Bran will see the tower of joy
'Jamie' will make frey pie
Cersei will burn kl (courtesy of qyburn) in effort to wipe out hs and accidentally kill tommen
Dany and co will sail west...
...and bump into gendry rowing in the opposite direction
