I suppose having been dead would make you a bit weary.

AfroPuffs · 20/06/2016 23:51

Jon wasnt thick for charging...what else could he have done given he was in the middle of the field. If you notice as he moved forwarded to charge a million arrows came down where he previously stood. He was actually totally human in trying to help Rickon and completely badass to the end.

AfroPuffs · 20/06/2016 23:51

Forward* Hmm

parsnipcrisps · 20/06/2016 23:57

Delurking to say I loved that episode! And although it was predictable I still punched the air when the Knights of the Vale showed up just as everyone else perished conveniently
Gratuitous reminder of wildfire too... Shits gonna burn next week Grin

OutOfAces · 20/06/2016 23:58

I wondered if Sansa didn't mention Littlefinger's troops under his instruction. Or at least because she was given the impression he wouldn't show.

From LF's point of view, the last thing he wants is to be on the losing side in the battle. So, similar to Lord Stanley in the Battle of Bosworth (we know George RR draws on European medieval history), he waits and watches the battle, waiting for the right moment - when he knows he can definitely secure a win for Jon/Sansa.

If Jon had known about LF his battle plan would have been different and LF would have been drawn in sooner, meaning he could have run the risk of being on the losing side. It just seems convenient for LF that this didn't happen purely because Sansa kept her mouth shut.

BelfastBloke · 21/06/2016 00:05

RJ, what do you mean "Oh and Sansa TOLD John - how thick is he!!"

She vaguely told him, don't fall for Ramsay's shit.

She certainly didn't TELL him, I've got a massive army arriving soon, so there's no need for several thousand of our men to die.

She might have TOLD him that!

WeDoNotSow · 21/06/2016 00:08

Thinking about it I think I dislike people's adoration and excuses for Sansa's behaviour more than I dislike her myself.
I mean, Sansa has always been out for herself.
Her best mate came to KL with her, no she sent her away for being annoying, and, well everything in KL.
But she was naive.
She makes zero attempt to save Rickon, she couldn't even be bothered to go with Jon and bury him? That's pragmatic apparently... Confused
Those dogs had been starved for seven days, they could've waited another few hours for you to drop that fucking smirk off your face and ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR DEAD BROTHER

WeDoNotSow · 21/06/2016 00:12

Jon, on the other hand, is loyal as fuck

BelfastBloke · 21/06/2016 00:14

Did Lord Percy die? Was he at the battle?

It was only the SmallJon Umber that was on Ramsay's side, no?

FoxesOnSocks · 21/06/2016 00:15

Meh, Rickon was good as dead so why bother. Telling you Ramsey being dead has created a vacancy, Sansa has been training for the role for a while.

Smile

Here's how they shot the battle if anyone is interested.

EverySongbirdSays · 21/06/2016 00:20

Think of the repeated trauma she's suffered from Neds death onwards part of her is dead inside that's why the speculation that she will be the series version of Stoneheart

I just don't get all the 'woohoo, Sansa's turned from an idiot into a blend of Lady SH/Baelish/Ramsay but they were evil men so they can die, she's a woman so now we love those qualities' on here.

WeDoNotSow · 21/06/2016 00:30

Foxes She's worse. At least Ramsey gave Myranda a send off Grin

WeDoNotSow · 21/06/2016 00:33

Every See, I like that idea, it makes sense.
But Lady SH isn't queen material, she's more, mad queen, but instead of 'burn them all' it'll be 'hang them all'

Also, how long do you think it'll be until Dany screams 'burn them all'?
I can so see it coming

honeyroar · 21/06/2016 00:34

But Sansa has always been heartless and selfish. She hated her sister and never stood up for her, she didn't put up a fight for her Direwolf, she's always been a bit aloof. The only time she showed any sign of emotion for someone was for Theon, when he said he was leaving her and Brienne.

As for the zig zagging, there was no point. Ramsey wasn't even looking when he fired the first few arrows, it was only the final arrow, when Jon was near, that he really concentrated.

I thought it was an epic episode, I loved it, when I wasn't expecting to, I though it would be too much battling when I watched the trailers, whereas in fact there was a good balance of other stuff going on.

Personally, for me there is only one character really showing themself capable of being a good ruler, as that character doesn't get over emotional about their family or make hot headed decisions, but weighs things up and plans, and that's Tiryion.

But I'm gutted that there's only one episode left. It always goes so fast. Why do these ten weeks seem to go much faster than the 42 weeks inbetween series!

IAmNotAMindReader · 21/06/2016 00:34

I'm hoping Bran gets back to Winterfell before Littlefinger gets his hand on Winterfell. He may well agree and support Bran being Warden of the North, thinking he's as easy to manipulate as Robin and even Sansa have been. Bran may well have to play dumb for a while as he needs to stay at Winterfell. That weirwood tree will become more important and I see Winterfell being the line in the sand that the Others must not cross instead of the wall.
He's playing a dangerous game and keeps switching sides while trying maintain a shroud of secrecy over his actions so that he need only declare his allegiance publicly once he is certain which side is going to win. Meanwhile, he is amassing power so that no matter which way the wind blows he has a good chance of sitting on the iron throne via a political match.
He can't support the Lannisters right now, not while the faith militant have the king and Kings Landing, because as soon as he stepped foot in the place he'd be arrested and tried for his sins.
Sansa is probably pregnant Littlefinger will probably offer to marry her and make sure her claim is legitimised as Wardeness of the North. This will put Bran in danger but hopefully, Bran gets to Winterfell soon as then Littlefinger can change tack and marry her to Robin with a plan of bumping him off claiming the child as heir of the Vale and then marrying Sansa and trying to bump off Bran. Hopefully, he'll stick with the Vale for now as it's a larger force whose lands have been touched little by war. Whereas Winterfell has been sacked twice.

WeDoNotSow · 21/06/2016 00:35

I vote Yara Queen of Queens!
She's loyal to her family, and not a crazy megalomaniac. Winner

TinklyLittleLaugh · 21/06/2016 00:40

In the books Yara likes men. She's a more minor character too I feel. I don't think she will end up being significant.

WeDoNotSow · 21/06/2016 00:52

Agreed. But the books and the show I'm treating as seperate entities,
As soon as they changed

WeDoNotSow · 21/06/2016 00:56

FUck

WeDoNotSow · 21/06/2016 01:03

Am I the only one whose phone just does what it wants. The. Cursor jumps around and page refreshes or goes to top all by itself, tried to type fucking phone and just post fuck jAngry Angry

EverySongbirdSays · 21/06/2016 01:34

No mine does weird shit, my desktop also multiposts all the time - I really think people need to stop factoring Bran into the equation he's the blood Raven now and has a higher calling one which in this instance I feel will be better explained in the book

Obviously I am very sad at Wun Wun's demise.

But I wish he had a different name.

Because now I am dealing with insomnia and an earworm going through my head over and over again:

1 1 was a racehorse
2 2 was 1 2
1 1 1 1 race
2 2 1 1 2

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 21/06/2016 07:04

Apparently wun wun is some kind of reference to a sports team

PonyoLovesHam · 21/06/2016 07:07

Ah it's ok TheNorthRemembers, I got a bit mixed up.

Woke up thinking about the episode!
