Oh mooj, can you come and declutter my place? MrP is in full on existential crisis about how much crap we have no recognition that he's a hoarder.

OP posts:
moojangles · 18/06/2016 11:07

Willingly! I cull MrM stuff when he's away & oddly he never notices

pixieg1rl · 18/06/2016 12:11

Ooh I'm in de-cluttering mood lately. Decided our family is now in the next stage of its life as my kids now have girlfriends and precarious drinking habits - so the 20-piece jigsaw puzzles, v-Tech learn-to-read talking tablets and Tweenies VHS videos simply have to go.

Started with my own wardrobe that's got clothes in there that haven't seen the light of day since I was a slim size 10 about 30 years ago . 5 x bin bags full - check. Decided to stick with the elasticated beige crimpelene slacks and forget the ra-ra skirts and padded shoulders once and for all.

Then onto youngest DS clothes who has accumulated not only his own but 4 lots of hand-me-downs from older brothers and cousins etc. Found pyjamas age 7-8 in back of drawer. He's nearly 13 Confused so sort-out is about five years overdue. Another 3 bin bags for the charity shop.

Now concentrating on various bric-a-brac accumulated at back of kitchen cupboards over last 20 years. Youngest DS is cribbing he simply can't manage without his Spongebob sandwich toaster that hasn't been used for years and has a ceramic plug on it it's that old And I think I'm finally in the clear to chuck out MIL's A Gift From Weymouth egg cups that she gave us in 1988 Grin

kuiakaituhi · 18/06/2016 15:01

I've not been on here for the last few days because I've been sulking in the corner and stamping my feet and having hissy fits because Taylor Swift stole my man and has been pashing him up on some foreign beach or other! Honestly, I saw him first!!

I think I might be inspired enough to write some more adventures for CJ and Molly in Aotearoa. On Tuesday I watched our local team demolish the Welsh Rugby team. Not a Test Match, but the locals, led by Beaver formerly of All Blacks and Bath Rugby fame.Brought the house down! He got a standing ovation and chants of "BEAVAH! BEAVAH!"as he limped off the field.
Seeing as my original story was on the smutty site, perhaps I'll add some detail about the true origins of his name. What say you, ladies? I'm sure Molly would be keen to find out where it came from.
And Woof check out the new, rejuvenated AB's. Some very hot new brown boys, suggest starting with Malachi Fekitoa. I imagine you could come up with some very creative tongue twisters (figuratively) based on his surname. You know, like Mrs Brown.

kuiakaituhi · 18/06/2016 15:15

Mala-KAI Fekitoa. He was around a bit last year, but in the first choice brigade now.

cjwoofwoof · 18/06/2016 16:01

Hmm is there anyone Taylor Swift hasnt dated? If she tries to snare AT I'll sort her right out kuia . As for TH he's far too classy and mature for her - I give it a fortnight then you can win him back. Possibly sooner if Idris gets to be 007.

Knee deep in Euro 16 football chez Woof at the mo so not had chance to update myself on the latest hot totty rugby contingency. Will google Fekitoa when I've finished down-sizing my overflowing kitchen cupboards Shock and can devote more time to my ogling investigations

MaddieMoo82 · 18/06/2016 16:13

Same here woof but we are managing wall to wall football and rugby.... The schedule works to be able to watch all of it and no muskateers tonight either Sad

cjwoofwoof · 18/06/2016 17:31

Gah! I was looking forward to my fix of D'Artagnan's mighty fine shoulder pad tonight mads . Never mind, it's wall-to-wall excitement currently with 0-0 in Iceland v Hungary match, yawn. I must say I am not enjoying the current fashion of close-cropped or even bald hairstyle twinned with fuzzy, unkempt Geography-teacher-style beard Confused Reminds me of those upside-down pictures you used to draw as a child that was a man's face either way round Shock

I was looking forward to zooming in on aramis on my iPad Angry. Yes today started early with Wales vs New Zealand and Australia vs England in the rugby (not complaining about that one due to 80 mins of Chris robshaws thighs) then all this bloody football. Had to get out earlier for a few for a few hours earlier otherwise I would have gone mad!

pixieg1rl · 18/06/2016 18:20

I wish they would put Musketeers on BBC2 as an alternative to all this football, but no, they're putting on a 45 year old episode of Dad's Army instead. Confused

MrP is watching F1, possibly even duller than snooker and golf combined. Apparently the last 2 hours of mind numbing tele isn't even the actual race, just practice laps.

OP posts:
moojangles · 18/06/2016 18:42

rewind pix...you can buy driftwood? Can I interest MrP in a collection of stones/shells and small lumps of rock?

pixieg1rl · 18/06/2016 18:49

With a hoarder and a 5 year old we're self sufficient in rocks, shells, feathers, seed heads and interesting sticks, thanks mooj

Have decluttered like a pro today!! Been in the attic (the show crap in the attic would be more appropriate than cash in the attic).

Whole car load of binbags to the dump, another to the charity shop. Kids clothes sorted into sizes and packed away in storage bags. Feel strangely satisfied after that, just need to tackle the rest of the house now ignoring the fact that we have still have three times the amount of kids toys and games than we actually need. Found my old sylvanian families from the 80's that I had to remove from my parents house ages ago. Not a clue what to do with it, does anyone still collect such things?! ConfusedConfused

pixieg1rl · 18/06/2016 21:24

Cor, well done you Jen I've sorted a few of DS's clothes and sent one bag of knackered ripped clothing to the recycling bin.

Onlygirljen · 18/06/2016 21:39

Well done pix, I'd have struggled to find the motivation to clear anything if I didn't have the thought of moving day tormenting me!

Think mooj has the right idea, in future I need to start getting on top of this stuff more regularly when DH doesn't know what's being chucked rather than let it all accumulate. Easier said than done!!

icemistOBE · 18/06/2016 23:13

Original sylvanian families, I'd eBay them

Richtea19 · 18/06/2016 23:28

I always wanted to buy sylvanian families. Two boys weren't interested. I remember seeing a camper van and picnic set for them!! Well done with the sorting though. Strangely satisfying sorting out clothes. I've done that with my eldest clothes, packed away for little one, bet I will forget to get them from the loft!

Fed up with football, rugby, formula one and anything else on the go. Cheesed off about the Musketters not being on. I watched New Blood on the iplayer which was good.

Love Sid James!! Things we watch to avoid football!

Ilovelblue · 19/06/2016 07:53

Morning all. Another non-football lover here and totally sick of it disrupting everything else. I've recorded lots of stuff to watch when football is on but to be honest, have been busy in the garden most evenings so not really keeping up with my recordings. Yesterday lunchtime, I watched episode 4 of OG again. God, he is so gorgeous!!

I'm quite good at decluttering myself when I am in the mood. I don't tend to hoard clothes much these days and if I get fed up of them, I will advertise them on eBay. Did quite well recently with some summer stuff I didn't really like much any more.

woof you've reminded me that my kitchen cupboards could do with a good clearout!

Good luck with the watchalong tonight. Setting off in about an hour for the trek down the M6/M40/M25.

Have a good day everyone.

MaddieMoo82 · 19/06/2016 08:09

Safe journey and good trip ilove they are putting muskateers on tomorrow night at 9pm. Which is slap bang in the middle of the England game and the start of game of thrones so I'll be watching later in the week I think unfortunately.
