Morning. Great evening for me yesterday.....not. Curtain rail fell down when I was rehanging one of the curtains, I fell outside on the pavement, hit my head and bust my knee and the hotel rang to say they were overbooked and were moving us. We only booked in February! Was very cross at first then realised the second hotel was more convenient for us and would normally have cost more. Told them I wanted dinner for two and a bottle of wine as compensation which they have now given. Think we were bumped because we are doing it on Tesco vouchers so they won't make much money out of us.

ice do you think the besch at Fleetwood will have the same appeal and 'pilgrimage' factor as Bailbrook House? Haha. And pixie why go to Kenya when you have a beach like this on your doorstep?!

To be honest ilove I'm not a fan of tropical beaches. It's too bloody hot and humid and because I'm a fat knacker I don't enjoy that sort of heat. I like a beach that you have to wear a jumper on.

Hope you're ok after your bump. Where are you off to this time?

pixie my skin is too pale for tropical beaches and I can't sit still long enough either. Oh and there's the fact of looking like a beached whale in a swimming costume too.

We're having a gardening trip - Wisley (of course) and the Savill Garden at Windsor plus a National Trust place in Warwickshire on the way down. The hotel was near Sandhurst (no prizes for guessing why that appealed to me) but we've been moved to Ascot instead! Actually, it works out better for us but I still played the disgruntled client when the woman told me I had no choice. Her customer facing skills weren't really very good!

Also meeting Nickel on our way home, all being well.

Gleb alert, Gleb alert!!! Saw a trailer for Celebrity Masterchef with Gregg Shouty and John Turd and then suddenly a flash of beauty across the screen appeared making me spit out my teatime sausage. Missed when it starts though as I was licking the TV screen at the time. Experiencing a sudden interest in cooking shows that are usually total poo and frantically checking tv lustings, I mean listings, gah! iPad auto correct..Or maybe lustings is more accurate??!!

...just in case you need reminding...

Next Wednesday I think woof, looking at the line up, it's not very lustworthy Impressive, I don't know who most of them are or am I just very old and out of touch, apart from Cannon from Cannon and Ball. Just as well Gleb is on there, you won't need to worry about who else is there!

Ooh thanks nick just checked out the line-up and you're right, mostly non-entities. Audley Harrison has a body shape that tends to push my buttons so I may ogle observe his muscles cooking skills if Gleb is ever off camera

I expect orph will be glued to the screen as David Harper, the sex God of Bargain Hunt, is a contestant...

Anyone seen the news that Tom Hiddleston is supposed to be involved with Taylor Swift? I only say supposed to be as it's rumoured to be a PR stunt. Interesting idea though!

I spotted Gleb in the line up for Celebrity Masterchef - apparently he wants to 'cook' ice cream - another interesting idea! Can't say I watch it but I might be tempted to gain some culinary skills. Now, if a certain Captain or his alter ego wanted to take part in 'Bake-off' I'd be glued to the TV.

I think it's on rhu I'm going to try but am working Sunday so will be a push. Anyone on for muskateers tomorrow night?

Talking of cooking icecream I've tried deep fried icecream. It was very odd!! Yes to CJ in the bakeoff... Cue puns about soggy bottoms!

You're right there Maddie, the news is incredibly depressing at the moment and sorry to hear you're down in the dumps.

Have you tried slug traps in the garden? All you need are some plastic cups partially sunk into the soil and fill them with beer. You'll never get rid of them completely but you will be surprised how many fall into the traps.

Finished work tonight for the week. Hurray! Been doing loads of ironing tonight and I think it's time for bed. I am sort of watching Graham Norton but if I'm not careful, I'll fall asleep in front of the telly. I am recording it anyway.

I'll miss the watchalong this week but should be able to read the thread afterwards. Have fun! I will be fine for joining in next week though.

maddie you can get things called slug bells- pet friendly way of using slug pellets as they can't get to them.
RL being rubbish at the moment, but at the same time making me grateful we are all still here and for what I have.

I've been a bit quiet this week, a mixture of RL and what's happening in the news. I feel wrong having a moan about everything when that poor family have lost their mum.

Bathroom is finally done but it has caused us no end of problems and cost a fortune (which I'm panicking about). I had to hit the panic button at work on Thursday as a patent collapsed infront of me. I have never been so scared. It was amazing the response. Drs came flying out of their rooms and the ambulance service were truly amazing.

Then yesterday I woke up to a bright red eye! All the white had gone! Not very attractive! It's a burst vessel apparently happens when your blood pressure is high. I'm not suprised!

Morning all. Ditto to feeling grateful for what we have and that we are alive! An old colleague of mine used to say 'I wake up each day and anything else is a bonus!' True when you think about it.

We had to call the ambulance at work yesterday too. A man had been on some stupid diet and had lost 3 stone since January. He had stopped looking slim in my opinion and had started to look haggard and drawn. Anyway he collapsed. The paramedics discovered a heart murmur so he was whisked to hospital.

Rich are you pleased with the bathroom after all the upset? I love mine. The expense was far more than I had initially budgeted for though. By the way, fid you say you are planni g a trip up to Manchester again?

The farden got battered this week in the monsoon type rain but this bit still looks ok.
