I write Lord of the Rings and Star Wars - so a million miles from this, really (or a million years, or a galaxy far far away, or something) - though I do have a long AU piece which featured a woman soldier in a men's unit getting it on with her commanding officer... written before I even knew of Our Girl's existence

Happy to PM anyone links to the story (Ben Aldridge would be excellent casting for the hero - dark haired, tall, wiry!).

Evening all. Been watching football - the first ever match I have watched voluntarily! Only because I drew Wales in our office sweepstake and I stood a fair chance of winning the prize but it wasn't to be. That will be 90 mins of my life I will never get back!

I'm going to see an open air production of Macbeth on Saturday. The last time I read Macbeth was for my O level English Literature in 1978!
Needless to say, I've had to read an online synopsis to refresh my mind. I don't mind Shakespeare plays so long as they're ones I've studied - not overly keen on having to do some basic cribbing of the plot before I go.

Apols if I missed anything. Snowed under at the mo with RL, Grr. And then last night we had a leak in the bathroom overnight. DH put down towels as the floor was wet (!), but didn't think to mention it, so it had come through the ceiling by this morning! Luckily it's all fixed now, although everything is still wet. Lovely! Isn't it always the way, when you don't have time to deal with it. Ah well, must go to bed with that image of BA in my mind ...

End of the month nickel, although need to get a wedding and a holiday out the way first July is not a good month for my sanity. Anybody know where CJ is? I could do with an escort for the wedding...

ilove* what a terrible time you have had, hope you have a better day. I saw Macbeth last year, or maybe the year before I can't remember! James McAvoy and very intense.

I had to travel to Portsmouth last night as DS is at his work experience, DH was with him as I had to be at work and so now a swap over. Bit of crappy night though as there was a wedding being held in the hotel (really on a weds!) our room is above the function room and they had a live band!!!! Blood shot eyes this morning!

But on a brighter note... Whilst I'm away from DH I've changed my screensaver to the new BA picture.... Amazing!

Ooh Rich I love Portsmouth. Years ago my DS played footy with the Portsmouth academy and we had many a trip down there. Visit the shipyard/Mary Rose it's great. And the Spinnaker tower. Fish and chips by the sea in a gale force wind is also a fond memory - aah yes you can't beat a good British summer

Oh, I can definitely imagine BA as Han Solo... though I'm not sure the personality would quite fit. Can I imagine the controlled, think-before-you-act CJ delivering the "Never tell me the odds" line?

Bad news, it's cancer. Tentative plan of radiotherapy to shrink/control the tumour. Meeting with specialists in the morning so will know then
