I was a bit bewildered by the athos kiss tbh. It seemed to come totally out of the blue. Thought they'd do a lot more buildup to it first.

And also, wtaf breaking off mid snog with aramis, you daft bint!!!

However. LOVED the return of CSI Paris 1640. More of that please.

Right then wenches. I came on here last night, at midnight as Mumcabbign & football meant that's when I finished watching. I finished RTF last thread, opened up this new one & 7 pages! FML! So I slammed the laptop shut, went to bed & here I am, still not having read anyone's reaction. So here's mine before I know what anyone else made of it.

Dull. Probs my least fave of all 3 series. Nooooooooooooooooo.

Grimaud still proving a bit of a revelation however. But too much of him doing grim stuff to people. No bromance - well, maybe a few seconds. Nice touch with Kingy's Aramis digs. Likewise the Sylvie/Aramis snog. Bahaha Aramis Butttttt....Poor people being blamed for stuff - hasn't that been done before? A Musketeer being locked up - hasn't that been done before? Trev eye-rolling & getting nowhere at court? Hasn't that.....oh, wait.

I am now going back to read what everyone else thought. I do hope you didn't all love it or I'm handing in my wench badge.

Morning all. I had a lie-in today - hurrah!! No no rewatch yet (boo!) And we might fit a new kitchen sink... but probably not tbh.

I can't even be bothered going into historical accuracy, some bits are and some bits aren't. I watch for entertainment not accuracy and I'm finding it highly entertaining (And I watch GoT so gore? what gore? ;) It's all implied off camera, there's very little explict gore that I noticed.)

Athos was hot as hell, that's all I can remember, and something about grain Love Ruper Everett and Grimaud. Hope the red guard guy doesn't try to attack Constance or something, that will really piss me off

Know what you mean about the Athos snog madame - felt a bit 'out of nowhere', especially so soom after the Arasnog.

I much preferred ep1 sparks - more humour, action & tension in that one. I hope that was because this ep was a 'story setting' ep - establishing the corruption & power of the Red Guards & Feron, and introducing TM to Grimaud.

Just sitting down to rewatch because Ds2 and 3 fell asleep.

My main thought on last night was that Dog owned it. He was fucking smouldering throughout. I know Connie doesn't need protecting but I enjoyed his first meeting of the Red Guard.

Aramis just faffer than faff. Always.

Hopefully there will be a less boring one next week. Still holding high hopes for the Bonnaire ep!

I do agree that it is my least fave of all. Episode two historically is not the best IMO. S1 it was the Vadim episode which was fine but not the best for me and S2 it was An Ordinary Man which I enjoyed but I think the Tav generally wasn't keen on. I do remember people in the know mentioning ep 3, is it Bonnaire so I think it will kick off and Aramis needs to face Queenie that bit with Kingy was fab writing.

I felt that things were being set up to kick off later too anne, which was probably why this ep felt less exciting to me. Also because there was a need to show what had changed in Paris, there was less of the musketeers & more of the new characters.

Anyhoo, I am pleased with how pretty everyone looks (especially Aramis)

Still haven't re-watched so will reserve judgement.

Loved all the sword-play and rockstar moment.

The Bonnaire one is episode 4.

Bloody hell when Dog kicks the table when he is facing off with Marchaux.

I did enjoy it but felt it was a bit slow. Lots of nice setting up of things as lots of wenches have said. Really looking forward to Aramis and Queenie meeting up again!

Right at the beginning when Dog was still in bed I must say I'd've probably thought "the garrison can manage for another hour so without their dinner" and jumped back into bed with him.

and I'm not that keen on Connie's belted, leather waistcoat jacket thing.

Feron and Grimaud are excellent.

LetUs that was an exceptionally nice opening scene. And the way he moved his hand down towards the cover as Connie came in ....

Oh and this is the best Athos hair I MO.

I need to rewatch so I can a proper critical anlysis thingy. And that's not going to happen anytime soon...

PS - who am I kidding - I need a rewatch do I can sit back and be entertained. (And see if I liked it as much as I thought I did, in the light of some less than enthusiastic reviews)
