The French charge... Athos falls off and the rest of the men are running past..
How is it then that when he finishes rolling about in the dirt, the Spanish line is intact and none of the French soldiers are between him and the Spanish, so the other Musketeers have to catch him up and rescue him before he gets kebabbed by the Spanish soldiers? Did all the French soldiers in front got killed without disrupting the Spanish line (and immediately vanish)? I think we should be told.

Our big disappointment chez onlyboy: when Dog grabs a spear/lance/pointy thing and rushes the Spanish lines and you just know he's going to do an epic pole vault right over the Spaniards and - he doesn't. Just stabs one of them instead.

He'd better not be that a big a letdown with any other spear/lance/pointy thing he's wielding

But he stabs them in the right place (as it were) so that's a positive sign.

Dogs pointy pole works perfectly well. Never misses its intended target.

S1 Dog may well have been a disappointment in that regard onlyboy (see much previous blathering about him probably indulging in feathery stroking ), but we hope that's no longer the case as he matures

Pole vaulting would've been excellent fun though, you're right

Rewatched the moment in question - it really sounds like Isabella & that's what the subtitles say too
