Only just discovered this programme 4seasons in whoops

How did I not know this exists??? LOVING it Grin

SoupDragon · 14/06/2016 08:01

I am slightly jealous that you have 3 whole seasons to catch up on. :)

I think Jade might be in trouble depending what the challenges are - I deliberately don't watch the "next week" bit although I did notice Tracey has a corker of a tunic.

firesidechat · 14/06/2016 08:57

Where can we watch previous series of this? I saw some of last years and all of this years and would love to see some more. Even my husband is hooked.

Is this year as good as last year? I'm struggling a bit to warm to the sewers this time round, although I would like to have a coffee with Charlotte and Rumana seems lovely.

RueDeWakening · 14/06/2016 09:12

How have I only just found this thread? Blatant place marking so I know where you are next week!

RueDeWakening · 14/06/2016 09:13

There are some full episodes on YouTube...

BurningGubbins · 14/06/2016 09:51

Well I didn't see Angeline crashing out this early poor thing, she had a real nightmare this week.

So, my prediction for the final is now: Joyce, Charlotte, and maybe Jade, depending on what the challenges are. With Joyce to win.

redexpat · 14/06/2016 11:23

I just caught up on iplayer. I'm sorry Angeline was sent home, she's got a really good eye for what looks good, but she had a bad week. Her coat had the potential to be brilliant - such a beautiful colour.

I've bagged out once before when making a postman pat jacket for DS and the lining was a bit too big so hung out at the bottom. But 4yos dont really care about that.

SoupDragon · 14/06/2016 12:53

This year good sewers seem to be going out on "bad weeks" and I don't really remember that happening before. I would have put Jamie, Ghislane and Angeline down to go out much later.

LyndaNotLinda · 14/06/2016 13:11

Jade was really smart this week - she focused on sewing beautifully rather than the wow factor in the pre-prepared round and it's absolutely the way to go. They are hugely intolerant of any mistakes in that round.

I didn't think Ghislaine was that experienced a sewer and neither is Angeline which is what did for them. I agree with you about Jamie though - I really thought he'd go through. Have they changed the judging to become much more Bake Off like?

frenchfancy · 14/06/2016 17:25

I thought Jade's Jacket was excellent - she really took the time to get it right, and was sensible to chose a simple style to give her the time to do it.

redexpat · 14/06/2016 21:08

Agree with soupdragon that in previous years the ones who get sent home have been consistently worse than the other remaining contestants, not so many surprises.

jay55 · 15/06/2016 15:45

They've all had good and bad rounds. It's too cosy to feel all that competitive now.

CatherineDeB · 15/06/2016 18:51

I would have been pleased with Jade's jacket. I wish that they were given more time to make something properly rather than rush and bodge everything, then we could see what made to measure ought to look like.

SingaSong12 · 15/06/2016 20:16

Haven't read the whole thread so sorry if this had been said- like with Masterchef I'd love to see what the judges would come up with for some of the challenges. It won't be the same as there isn't the surprise element but would be interesting.

SunnyL · 15/06/2016 21:34

I like that idea SingSong.

I think a couple of years ago they did a Christmas special where the judges and contestants did wee showcases. Most of it I wouldn't chose to make but it was nice to see how good they were without the time element

SoupDragon · 15/06/2016 22:08

They had a judge demonstrate something each week on the Pottery version of this kind of programme - the contestants had to go away and do the same thing.

frenchfancy · 16/06/2016 07:34

In the French version one of the judges shows what they would have done for the customisation challenge. It is my favourite bit of the show.

BurningGubbins · 16/06/2016 09:33

Oh that sounds good. Sometimes the judges comments on the alteration challenge suggest that they just don't like the style, rather than marking down for poor sewing.

RueDeWakening · 16/06/2016 22:53

What's the French one called? Will tip off my mum (and get her to put it on series record for next time we visit!) :o

SoupDragon · 17/06/2016 07:56

I would love to see Esme (which I had to change from Edna) do the alteration challenge!

frenchfancy · 17/06/2016 09:12

The French series is called Cousu Main. They've done 2 series so far, it is on M6.

Davros · 17/06/2016 15:57

I'm not sure Patrick would manage as apparently he isn't a tailor!

Good evening!

SoupDragon · 20/06/2016 21:02

I've been banished from the tv again. Bloody football! Hurrah for the iPad...

dillite · 20/06/2016 21:03

I am dreading the challenge on their behalf
