Oh that's lovely rich is this the first time the have nested?
Gorgeous again here. Food shopping, lovely walk with the dog and visiting inlaws. Just need to get DS to sleep and then to start tidying and sorting for the week ahead Sad

ilove (or another other rose guru) do roses mind a few stones in the soil? Flower beds are just about finished but weren't sure if I needed to make them less stoney? Wish u was closer to come to your plant sale!!!

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2016 20:00

Maddie I'm not an expert on roses, far from it but the main rule is to have decent, well draining soil with plenty of muck, fertiliser or other feed. I'm on clay but it's been very well worked (the house is 60 years old). A few stones probably won't matter but it depends how many there are and how big they are I guess.

If you'd been a bit nearer when you were up in the Peak District, I could have brought you any number of plants for your garden!!

I'm completely kn......d tonight. I went out on my bike this afternoon as I needed a few extra labels from the garden centre, then spent ages watering and delivered a few oddments of plants to a friend. Any thoughts of cleaning up will have to wait till tomorrow.

Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend.

moojangles · 05/06/2016 20:09

Spent the day working really hard making somebody else's garden look good today! ilove you'll be impressed to know that my rose is now ant free, thank you

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2016 20:34

Did you resort to chemical means mooj or did you use the old wives' tale I'd heard and ask them to go away very politely?

moojangles · 05/06/2016 20:39

Asked them again nicely, and stood the pot in a tray of water for a few days and it has done the trick and so it has pride of place on the patio

pixieg1rl · 05/06/2016 20:39

What day do you go to Tatton show ilove? There was some wistful talk of going with my friend who I went to Chelsea with and I said if we did we'd have to meet up with you.

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2016 20:51

We're going on Members' Day pixie which is 20 July. Are you in the RHS? I'm about 35 miles away and we always have a meal in Knutsford afterwards. It would be great to see you! (Not only do I lie to my friend about how I know Nickel who I am meeting in a couple of weeks, but I would then have to lie about how I know you, but never mind, I am inventive). Hahahaha. You would probably be another ex-work colleague like ice and Rich!

MaddieMoo82 · 05/06/2016 20:58

Thanks ilove yours look lovely so makes you an expert in my eyes Grin will get something to bung in the soil then thank you!

Richtea19 · 05/06/2016 21:00

ilove and ice I've just renewed the boys ManU membership so there will be another trip up and meet up hopefully! Also we are looking at Manchester uni for DS so perhaps another opportunity!

pixieg1rl · 05/06/2016 21:02

We are both members ilove, it would depend on a lot of factors, but I'll let you know if it looks likely.

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2016 21:09

I would have offered to get you tickets pixie if you'd not been a member. It's a real old trek for you? Would be lovely to meet you though!

ice Manchester city centre is about 40 mins away for me - no problem at all.

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2016 21:10

Meant Rich really, not ice. Too tired tonight!

Heligirl79 · 05/06/2016 21:28

Evening all.

The sun has finally come out here today! Smile Spent afternoon sitting in my parents garden. The twins have got a teacher training day tomorrow, so if its nice again we are thinking of taking a trip up to the coast, hopefully most schools will be back and it won't be too busy.

DS figured out how to crawl today, so he has been off trying to get everything in sight.

Richtea19 · 05/06/2016 21:31

mads first time nesters in the box. It's been there forever, I can't believe they would of chosen out of choice, probably no others available!!!

Anyone watching soccer aid? The Sausage and Marlk Wright. I wonder if Michelle k is there? With any cast members????

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2016 21:36

A milestone today for you then Heligirl. The weather has definitely been better in the west this past week for a change.

I've just had an OG moment everyone! Went to put something in the car ready for our plant sale and caught sight of my next door neighbour sitting in their conservatory in just his pants and a football shirt with a little pot belly. It reminded me of Molly's Dad, Dave - though he didn't have a conservatory! I've never really understood why they have it arranged so that I can see straight in. One night during the winter when I was going out, she was lying straight across him upside down no need to draw a diagram. Wasn't quite sure where to look!

MaddieMoo82 · 05/06/2016 21:36

Yes watching rich and its in Manchester so MK bound to be there!

Ilovelblue · 05/06/2016 21:39

I wouldn't normally seek out MK gossip but I had a quick look after you mentioned it....

Richtea19 · 05/06/2016 21:41

And smurf has just come on!!

pixieg1rl · 06/06/2016 08:37

REALLY don't want to go to work today

cjwoofwoof · 06/06/2016 08:57

Morning! Finally, the Little bleeders are back at school/exams so freedom returns. Hope you had a good break nick despite forgetting appropriate clothing. On the baby birds front, I had one fall out of its nest in the garden last week. The dog ate it. That's nature for you. Shock

cjwoofwoof · 06/06/2016 09:00

And kel will be thrilled if Molly puts in an appearance in S2 - where is kel btw? We seem to have "lost" quite a few posters these days Sad

MaddieMoo82 · 06/06/2016 09:05

Morning all Smile

Ah pixie hope it's not too rubbish for you. Day off today and lists of stuff to do but currently laying on the sofa with DS watching repeats of the furchester hotel... Perfecting my parenting skills well this morning.

Ah yes woof I think that's why we are very unlikely ever get anything nesting in our garden. A bird cannot even set foot in our garden without our dog rushing out reading to attack Hmm

MaddieMoo82 · 06/06/2016 09:08

Oh and a little stalk on Twitter shows that Luke and si were at soccer aid too but no pictures oh them. Talking of Luke still disappointed at missing out on my muskateers perv viewing this weekend Sad

cjwoofwoof · 06/06/2016 09:29

Ditto to lack of Musketeers mads although I downloaded Ep2 on iplayer. Thank goodness the 38 viewers of Casualty didn't miss their episode in the reschedule though Angry

cjwoofwoof · 06/06/2016 09:35

I suspect the onslaught of Euro 16 football will see the leather shoulder-padded ones shifted from pillar to post over the next few weeks also. Gah! No, no, no BBC - don't you understand female viewers of a certain age need their fix of grubby 17th C Frenchmen with big swords to objectify appreciate their historical detail?
