I really loved the shy flirtiness of it. All lingering looks and big grins when they both admitted they were definitely there for a shag Grin

Ilovelblue · 11/05/2016 23:49

And we'd have been next in the queue if we could!

KellyHb · 12/05/2016 07:50

Morning all

I loved that bit too pix. How rude that we didn't get to see any sexy times Grin

pixieg1rl · 12/05/2016 09:45

I'm not sure BBC 9pm slot could quite deliver the smut I have imagined Kelly Grin

cjwoofwoof · 12/05/2016 09:55

Morning! Ooh yes that look CJ gives when he says "did it work?" is an absolute knicker-melter, along with the stern head nod saying "get in that truck now" when they're leaving the FOB, sigh

cjwoofwoof · 12/05/2016 10:01

Maybe S3 when Molly returns it could be bought by Sky and re-scheduled to Sky Atlantic 10pm slot so there can be a bit more CJs body action? There's all sorts goes on in GoT so they obvs have no hang ups in the decorum dept at Sky. I commend it to The House!

cjwoofwoof · 12/05/2016 10:07

Just remembered - what's happened to elsie who did all those brilliant gifs and screenshot slow motion thingies and stuff for ringtones? Who could ever forget posh boy Brize Nor-Hun? Come back to us elsie !

icemistOBE · 12/05/2016 13:14

Ooh, I wonder if Sean is involved in the Manchester shoot? Any Intel on that ice?

If you do happen to bump into him would you get his autograph for me and maybe dry hump his leg a bit?

KellyHb · 12/05/2016 14:00

Oo good Intel ice. How long will it take you to get to Manchester pix? Wink

pixieg1rl · 12/05/2016 14:26

It used to take me about 4 hours in my student days Kelly, and I doubt the road/rail links have got any better in the last 22 few years.

icemistOBE · 12/05/2016 14:49

One of his fans asked him on Twitter for his autograph pix and he's sending it to her he who shall not be named should take note of this

pixieg1rl · 12/05/2016 16:35

Ooh, that's a handy way to subtly give him my address should he ever feel like a wild fling with a knackered overweight woman in her 40s...Grin

Rhubarb01 · 12/05/2016 17:21

Afternoon everyone. Run for the hills Luke and Sean - woof is on the way!!

I've been having a little smile to myself and experiencing a feeling of deja vu over the drama Home Fires. I know I've mentioned watching it and I think you have too, Ilove. I've also posted a few comments on the thread but it turns out that after the series ended on Sunday night on a massive cliffhanger ITV announced yesterday they've cancelled it! In OG terms it's the equivalent of ending the series after episode 4 and then cancelling series 2 including episdoe 5! There has been an outpouring of twitter demands to ITV to change the decision and an online petition. Does this sound familiar? Now don't get me wrong, it irritated me a bit at times because of inaccuracies and too many characters and some of the dialogue was a bit weird - it doesn't compare with OG. In no way am I emotionally invested in the characters like OG but it was easy Sunday night viewing and enjoyable. It's frankly ludicrous to broadcast a show that ends like that with all the characters story lines up in the air knowing they are going to cancel it. You've really got to wonder who is making these decisions sometimes and why.

pixieg1rl · 12/05/2016 18:39

Does that mean they aren't going to finish this series rhu? I'm just starting to get into it. Newlywed woman is obviously going to have a fling with pilot lady and the Wing Commander will seek solace in the arms of the vicars wife.

I'm feeling similarly miffed about the cancellation of Indian Summers. Last episode on Sunday and they're going to be leaving loads of storylines unresolved.

What does it take to get a story recommissioned these days? Emma Kennedy wrote an excellent article on having her sitcom cancelled www.emmakennedy.net/blog/

Rhubarb01 · 12/05/2016 20:17

It was the last episode on Sunday pix - only 6 episodes each series, which is why the ending was so ridiculous if you've seen it. I think the writers must have been given a good indication a third series was happening (apparently half of it is already written) to come up with an ending like that. If you hadn't known wouldn't you have done something more like OG which can stand as a story in it's own right because it had an ending. I've said it before here and elsewhere but I think it had too many characters - I counted 9 women with story lines - for merely 6 episodes. It needed more time to develop the stories - probably two or three more series. I don't suppose they would commit to the cost but someone else might pick it up if there's enough noise made - unless it's all a cynical ploy by ITV to attract attention!

i've dabbled a bit with Indian Summers but didn't see all of it so I've literally lost the plot but it looked fabulous - really vibrant and colourful. It's annoying that TV bosses do this kind of thing and as others have said keep trash TV like X Factor (OK I know Home Fires wasn't BAFTA material but it had some good roles for mature ladies!) I can't stand those reality programmes apart from SCD which is slightly different because it features people who've usually already got other talents and it's for fun and the competitive spirit and they don't claim they've been working their whole life for it!

Indian Summers must have been quite a big investment for C4 as it was 10 episodes per series and filmed on location. I suppose the viewing figures just weren't good enough. Maybe Deutschland 83 proved more lucrative and that was bought in?

pixieg1rl · 12/05/2016 20:29

Indian Summers had a massive budget, the first series was tighter, the second has been criticised for patchy pacing, but the characters are great. I've lived in places where that time was a living memory and some of that feeling still existed so I found it very evocative (and not just of the good things).

I think Deutschland 83 had a similar fate; the writers wanted another 2 series ending it in 89 but they didn't get a good reception in the USA. I hope the good reception it got in the UK gave another series more of a chance.

I didn't realise that Sunday's Home Fires was the last of the series. It had more of a mid series feel to it. I agree, too many plot lines for a 6 parter, but nice to see a drama about a range of women.

Haven't watched OG for ages, might gonna need to

KellyHb · 12/05/2016 21:10

I loved that Emma Kennedy sitcom pix and was gutted when it was cancelled after one series. Me and DH both liked it and we rarely like the same sitcoms.

I always wanted to get into Indian Summers but never did unfortunately.

Might have an early night tonight. So tired.

kuiakaituhi · 13/05/2016 06:15

Re lack of visual smut and bedroom gymnastics in OG. I think it's so sexy exactly because we're left to imagine and left wanting for detail . And I think they're both shy. I don't think they set out to "have a shag", I think they want to make love to one another. Certainly that is what I get from the look on his face as he strokes her hair and chin and kisses her. And from her smile.
I think there is a huge difference - I've had both experiences in my distant youth- and the way Charles treats Molly is in direct contrast to the shag behind the Indian takeaway.
I've always had the impression that they both wanted something better and more loving.

kuiakaituhi · 13/05/2016 07:24

And I don't think it would be any the less athletic for being loving, just a whole lot classier than a drunken fumble in an alleyway.

Richtea19 · 13/05/2016 07:43

Gutted about Home Fires, so many in answered story lines which need completing. I'm a bit behind with Indian Summers bit again really enjoying it. :(

DHs birthday was yesterday so spent the whole day drinking and eating. Drying out today ahead of the big party Saturday night. Feeling quite nervous now as I'm not sure how many people are coming..! DS will use it as an excuse for under age drinking.

Ilovelblue · 13/05/2016 08:32

Happy birthday to Mr Rich!

Home Fires Rhu and Rich I have followed it as it's easy watching on a Sunday night but at least two of the women looked alike and I kept getting them mixed up. I thought at the beginning of Sunday night's episode that it said it was the last in the series, then with the crash at the end, I thought I'd got it wrong and that next week would be the last episode! Had to double check that indeed it was the last one. How ridiculous to leave it there.

Had a really rubbish day yesterday. Hope today is better, despite it being Friday 13th. Started off badly when I got a call saying my bathroom stuff was being delivered so I told them I needed notice so that I could be at home and I pretended I couldn't work from home (total fib) and would have to clear it with my boss. To cut a long story short, the plumber is going to collect it on Monday before he starts. At least it means I don't need to house it all over the weekend.

The really good news yesterday was that our charity plant sale raised just over £400 by the end. That's the best we have ever done. I was so pleased!
