What was that about Jackie's parents coming into the house?? What were they like?

I'd forgotten about the abu gharab/guantanemo bay comments.(sorry, spelling's awful!) Oh, he is so awful. Did you like when he was singing his song to Jermaine and said 'they wanted me for my high voice because noone can sing like that'....oh, what about Michael Jackson? Thinks Jermaine, doesn't he do high singing a billion times better, and the beardy one from the bee gees, or the guy from the scissor sisters or even Daniel Bedingfield if they need someone cheap. Methinks the song is so terrible all the decent choices they had (whoever they are, he didn't enlighten us) were too decent to do the awful song. DH said that a friend of his was saying that when the remix came out recently of Leo's old hit he threw a wobbly and said they'd never got his permission and even though he would get all the royalties he was just about to relaunch his career and this wouldn't help.It's the best thing he's ever done!!! Get back to Oz and lose yourself in the bush, you little twerp!!!!!!

i thought jackiey acted like a child about that task thing. plus you know, they all have to live together... why can't Jackiey just bite her tongue for once?

anyway, she was calling shilpa 'india' last night, it's boring. i don't really care whether or not jade's dad was black, i think Jackiey is a bit racist and that's the problem.
can't stand the fact that shilpa (big star or not, she's a star in Bollywood and that means that a lot of people give you a lot of attention) is prettier, cleverer and speaks better english than her. imho.

Dirk can't pronounce shilpa and shilpa can't pronounce Dirk either cos she was talking on the 1st day saying his name sounded like DUCK BENNIDICT as if it was a meal

well, jackiey is easily confused...

and there is a big difference between saying someone's name with an accent, be it american or indian, and making no attempt to pronounce it properly. it was like watching margery dawes on little britain.

jackiey is erratic and judging by the way that she keeps asking for her meds, mentally compromised to some degree. the producers should be ashamed of themselves, yes, but i genuinely cannot see what is likeable about her. she's a freak. and that's why she's in there.

she and shilpa have been set up - it's class war, and it's ridiculous. i have been impressed by shilpa's calmness under great duress, i thought that a Bollywood actress would have been far more flaky and apt to dramatics.

Shilpa said she wanted to be called princess because she was trying to make up with Jackiey and be gracious. I agree with Aitch (again), I think Jackiey is definitely being racist.

yeah, tamum, i'd assumed that kanga was talking about an incident i hadn't seen on the live-to-air. if it was the one on the main show when shilpa said that jackiey could call her whatever she wanted and she didn't mind being called princess etc, then i thought it was cos she was wanting to make up. (actually, so did the producers of the show. i get sent the precis of the shows before transmission cos of my job, and that was written up as 'shilpa tries to make friends' i think).
i should say that i don't think jackiey is a racist racist evil nf bitch, but i think her backgrond and education is such that she'll struggle to know how to behave in the company of a rather elegant indian woman.

Me and dh keep quoting Marjorie Dawes whenever Jackiey is on. She is being totally ignorant in her behaviour to Shilpa, and poor Jade looks horrified most of the time. You've got to feel for her - that's her mum, how would you feel if that was your mum? I don't think she realises how racsist she is acting, I just think she's terribly badly educated and just stuck in a time long ago (my grandma still calls Asian doctors darkies and anything brown is nigger brown, and she is very well educated and quite posh!). I feel sorry for Jackiey because she is so dim and she can't control her emotions she just flies of the handle, but Shilpa is being far more patient than I would be. It's nearly time!!!!!!

But Jackeieey's parents were very nice and respectful toward Shilpa and i'm sure they just grasped her name and used it like a normal person would. Yes anyway it is time, must go and tut and laugh at the telly again... surely mute Jack to go?
