I think it's sasha.

I just said on another thread judging by the shadows he is going to ricks left, and he pointed at Carl, so it's sasha or the guy beside her imo, more likely sasha due to the 'taking it like a champ' line.

If it's the guy beside her or Eugene then that would lead onto Maggie thinking it's all her fault since they are there for her though.

Eugene gave rick all the bullet making info as well so isn't really needed.

I hope that it's not daryl or Abe though, I love them.

milliemoon · 04/04/2016 23:24

On the audio link the screams are a lot more distinctive than on the actual show, was the audio not actually taken from that episode?

OneThingAndThenTheNext · 04/04/2016 23:33

I was so worried that we'd only see about 30 seconds of Negan I never even considered this as a cliff hanger. Annoyed. October is a long time away ...

anonacfr · 04/04/2016 23:38

In the episode you couldn't hear anything as far as screams etc.

I'm praying that with Glenn's original dash to help Maggie and the whole comment about a allowing one moment of insubordination it isn't him or Maggie but who knows... based on the comics it should be him but they have changed major plots and he's already cheated death so many times it would feel like a cop out.

They talked about a character beloved by all fans so based on that I can't see Abraham/Rosita/Sasha/Aaron/Eugene as they are not core fan faves.
I thought for a minute it would be Rick as the ultimate left field death.
I still think it's Darryl.

The show runners did say they would start off season 7 with the immediate aftermath of the execution.

I know people generally didn't like the episode but I was so tense throughout. Loved Morgan! And Eugene's happy little smile when he was finally allowed to drive the van.

However what I didn't get is how Negan's crew knew Rick would be driving to the doctor. How could they anticipate that they would need to get there and try all routes one after the other? or were they just there the whole time on the off chance?

anonacfr · 04/04/2016 23:40

Interestingly no-one mentioned Michonne. All of Rick's women have a history of dying horribly.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 04/04/2016 23:42

I thought Sasha too - because it would leave Abe in a bad way because of the whole love triangle thing, and they had a cute moment talking about the future in the RV which doesn't ever bode well!

I think it's too close to the mid season finale for it to be Glenn. Carl and Rick are safe. Maggie seems like whatever is wrong with her is unsurvivable but I don't think they'd brutally kill a pregnant woman. Killing Michonne would cripple Rick again and we've been there a few times now. Daryl would cause riots and probably lose lots of fans and have no real impact in the show as Carol has wondered off...

I'm thinking Sasha.

Then again I did see a TWD advert in Spanish which said "One of them will die" And had pictures of Carol, Glenn, Abe and Daryl... If it's right, I'm going Abe.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 05/04/2016 01:01

I guess the saviours had been blocking the roads for a while. They knew the Alexandrians had been to Hilltop and would probably go again. Once they started following the RV it was only a matter of time before they blocked all the roads and forced them out on foot. Lucky they picked the right side of the road to assemble all the cars in the woods though. Grin

It did kind of sound like Maggie and Glenn on that audio, although there were quite leading subtitles.

I still think it was a lame cliffhanger though. I think it would have been better to end on the shock of losing one of them and anticipating the others reactions knowing exactly who it was. It's annoying knowing we've lost someone without being able to come to terms with who it is before the next season starts. I guess they're saving the shock of it for the next season to kick off with a bang but it did make for a crap cliffhanger. Fans needed to know.

Christ, Negan runs on a bit doesn't he? Likes the sound of his own voice! I wouldn't have stood there gabbing off, I'd have just killed someone and got on with it. Job done. Just made him look arrogant and comical, I thought. The actor is totally wrong. He should be a huge menacing hulk and he just looked lean. Doesn't look that scary to me. Lucille did though.

StealthPolarBear · 05/04/2016 06:14

If they're going to be rescued there's really only the hilltops left to help in enough numbers.
Jesus could save ;)

AndYourBirdCanSing · 05/04/2016 07:50

They'd never kill Rick Shock I read an interview where they said he would always be 'safe' as it's his journey. Although of course they might kill him off at the end.

Am I the only one who doesn't mind Carl? I see a lot of Carl hate in various forms!

StealthPolarBear · 05/04/2016 08:13

Yes I like Carl since he's grown up. The scenes with sams brother made it clear how much he'd grown up. I assume they were meant to be about the same age

DontOpenDeadInside · 05/04/2016 08:42

I think it was one of the survivors that came out of the trailer too. I think as Negan is swinging the bat Maggie thinks its Glenn, but its really the one beside him (Rosita?) The audio of Maggie screaming is to put us off track? But I like the Abraham theory as the person does stay upright at 1st.

OohMavis · 05/04/2016 08:52

This scene in the comic made me feel sick, and even though it was nowhere near as graphic, I still felt wibbly about it. And I'm not squeamish at all! I'm glad they didn't go all out and show the entire thing. I'd have cried Blush

anonacfr · 05/04/2016 09:06

They didn't need to show the whole thing. They could have showed the first blow filmed from behind so we could identify the victim and then the rest as a black scene.
They'd been teasing the death for so long it's mean to not show it. And the excuse that it's 'the beginning of a new story in season 7' is bogus. It's not like they're starting over with new characters. By the time season 7 starts the emotional impact of the scene and the death will have gone. We had a hugely tense chase with the sun setting about the same time Rick realised he was f*cked- then his utter collapse faced by a horrific situation he could do nothing about. When it starts again it will feel rushed.

I think they were going for a Jon Snow scenario and failed because in this case we know someone is dead.

They were clearly manning the roads but how did they know that Rick and co would be so desperate to get to Hilltop? You'd think faced with all the roadblocks they would have turned round gone home and regrouped and maybe tried their luck without vehicles.

anonacfr · 05/04/2016 09:09

If I had to chose someone to die I would nominate Abraham. The way he dumped Rosita after she was there for him throughout was shit.
Also he's like a wannabe Ron Swanson.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 05/04/2016 09:13

When Negan said 'I've got a better idea' I thought he was going to make Rick choose... it made my blood run cold.

ElsaAintAsColdAsMe · 05/04/2016 09:20

I love Abraham, I will be gutted if it's him or Daryl who got it. I also thought he was going to make Rick choose.

The more I think about it, the more I think it is sasha. That whole bit with Abraham in the RV made me think one of them was due to meet their demise soon, it will get a bit repetitive if she loses another boyfriend, and I think she would have got back up after the initial blow too.

MargotLovedTom · 05/04/2016 09:21

That's what I thought Mary - I thought it was going to go all Sophie's Choice and Rick would either offer himself up, or more likely Eugene because he'd already had the emotional goodbye.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan seems to have lost a lot of weight compared to his younger days.

buttermilkpie · 05/04/2016 09:27

Maybe the stormtroopers who Morgan and Carol met will have a chance at helping them. I don't read the comics so have no idea who they are (or even if they feature) but I was intrigued

buttermilkpie · 05/04/2016 09:33

Obviously not just those 2 stormtroopers, maybe there's a whole army 😁

Abed · 05/04/2016 09:48

Jeffrey Dean Morgan was fucking brilliant in that scene, the entire pacing of that scene was so uncomfortably long, the tension built and executed was damn near masterful then they piss away with that fuck you all ending. Jesus H Christ.

JuxtapositionRecords · 05/04/2016 09:52

I like Carl but how can he continue? The actor is ageing so quickly which looks silly compared to the others. I think Judith dies in the comics but the writers talked how wrong it would be to kill a baby in a world with no hope in it already, so maybe they kill Carl off instead.

I must be the only one who doesn't like Carol. I just find her storylines really boring. The Morgan/Carol sideline was just annoying in this episode.

Really hope next series gets better than this one. The main characters need to get a few more juicy storylines going, it is all spread quite thin on the ground now.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 05/04/2016 09:53

I liked the ending. All TV shows have cliffhangers to keep an audience interested, and it will work.

I agree the scene was amazing, but it didn't spoil it for me to not know who it was. (Obviously, I really want to know!!) but now I'm imagining lots of different scenarios and thinking about how it will affect everyone... The unknown is always more of a talking point that the known Grin

Helgathehairy · 05/04/2016 10:26

Just a quick two things.

DH has read the comics (I haven't) and he said that in the comics Nagens "code" is he doesn't kill women or children.

Kirkman (writer of the walking dead comics) has said he regrets killing off Abe and would like to see him as part of the fight against the saviours.

Norman Reedus has a new show - he travels around the states on a bike with a different celebrity each week. Could be fitted in around filming TWD but who knows.

Helgathehairy · 05/04/2016 10:26

Ok that was three things.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 05/04/2016 10:38

Does Abraham die earlier than this in the comics then?
