Corrie thread - How many more implausible plots until the new person takes over? NO SPOILERS PLEASE

Have started a new thread as the old one was nearly full and people wanted a "No spoilers" message in the title.

Are we placing too much hope in the new producer? How the hell are they going to get out of the plot holes?

I read the other day that the Les Battersby actor was seen at the studios. I am hoping that was a bad-taste April Fool's joke.

Still bored of Corrie...

Gail mentioned a leaky tap that she wanted Jason to fix. Was this in the annexe? Will it lead to a Horrifying Discovery??

apparently this week is going to be exciting.... i am doubtful tbh.
it'll be nice just to have the current stories finished so we can hopefully move on to something better.

I like Jason usually, but that grim frowning face is now becoming annoying.

pretty dull episodes recently. Hate misery Michelle with her kiss and Sarah with her crazy 'can babies feel vibes of a house?'

Phelan is the best thing about Corrie at the moment and Ryan Thomas has been great these past two weeks. I hope the Blackpool episodes next week are decent.

Omg..... I just weed a little watching tonight's first one....
No spoilers but when someone asked Gemma who's funeral.......

I missed all of last week's episodes, and after reading this thread I decided to just delete them. I watched tonight's though.

I am starting to believe the only way Corrie can get out of this nightmare spiral of decline is to have Audrey wake up and realise the last 3 years have all been a dream, like Pammy in Dallas.

It is very bad at the moment - so pleased I always record it and can just wizz through the episodes - the Jason/Tony storyline is awful - I would rather watch Rita sparring with Norris.

Did you see the new person in charge coming home from the BAFTAs? Shes so much younger than i thought. She looked fab carrying her suitcases in 7 inch stilletoes wearing a playsuit in the middle of the day. Heres hoping to good things for Corrie in the near future.

That girl lovely Craig is dating has always been a sullen miserable cow.

Craig's the best actor in Corrie in my opinion.

No, Gemma is great. Talented actress playing a good and believable, if slightly obnoxious, character.

Taking a bit of time out from Corrie just now because I give out so much about it.
Glad Roy is back. It could be watchable once some of the current stuff gets closed off.

New Jack! Maybe they needed a slightly older child now. At least they have remembered he exists.

They only remember the children when they need them for something.

oh dear - not impressed by 7 inch heels and a playsuit - that does not a good 'new' boss make.

I am not surprised they did not win this year - story lines and acting has been dire.

and exciting new story lines for Maria (one of the most boring uninteresting characters in the show ) - although I agree it needs a new broom some of the existing characters (such as Gail) could be better if they had a decent script.
There are a few other characters that could be axed because they are played by poor actors (and actresses) and are vvv uninteresting
I fear Corrie will go the way of the Archers and obsess about one particularly story line to the detriment of a wider appeal.

Izzy set up for another 'big'storyline relating to her cannabis use soon aswell! She's blooming awful, DP hates Corrie but I made him watch the bit when she had a bad trip and we were in hysterics at how bad it was!

Sarah being all tortured is doing my head in, shuffling around and lamenting around like a poor man's Lady Macbeth.

I wish they'd stop focusing in on a 'big story' and then dropping it and then going back ages later. Not so much something like Callum (which is rubbish anyway) which can be played out over a long time but what happened with Maria and Luke and the fake husband? And Izzy and Gareh and the cannabis? And Jenny Bradley just appears randomly.

Kate Oates did some great stuff with Emmerdale. Emmerdale standards of acting though, are far superior, in my opinion, to what passes for acting in Corrie. There is a lot of deadwood in Corrie. I would love to see her clear out the likes of Ches, Sinead, Izzie etc. Too many to mention.

I hope to see Gail restored to the character she once was. I love looking at old episodes where she kept the MIL from hell at bay, without turning a hair.
