Neighbours Thread - Is Lassiter's the most dangerous hotel in the world?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/04/2016 19:52

Starting a new thread ready for the dramas of next week.

Can't believe I'll be on holiday when the all the excitement is going on. That was seriously bad planning.

If Paul dies then I'm not coming home.

My wish list for death: Amy, her son, her mum, Sonya, Ben & Steph.

OP posts:

Just my overactive imagination! Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/06/2016 18:25

AGnu - that will deffo happen (as they say in Erinsborough).

Yes, I remember the Thornbirds! And yes, Susan had a thing for a priest - wasn't it Steff's uncle or something?

If there are scenes with Julie in prison, at least we'll see her wearing something other than that awful white suit she always has on! 😀

Lovewineandchocs · 22/06/2016 19:10

walkingtheplank because Fr Ted and Fr Dougal asked her to? Grin

HairsprayQueen · 22/06/2016 19:28

Aah have avoided the thread all day as saw the preview snippets in my 'I'm on' section saying it was unexpected- right to the end I thought you were all being sarcastic as it was panning out so obviously until the last bit!!

PandasRock · 22/06/2016 19:28

I missed the Susan/priest thing, but there was Mark and Annelise years ago, wasn't there? What is it with Neighbours and priests having affairs?!

Asheth · 22/06/2016 20:18

Not often Neighbours surprises me, but I really didn't see that ending coming! Fab! Still wonder how he got caught up in it all and why nobody noticed their parish priest going missing!

MiddleClassProblem · 22/06/2016 23:33

Maybe they thought that if Jesus was a carpenter all priests need to learn the trade as part of their training

MiddleClassProblem · 22/06/2016 23:44

I would just like to add that there is a distinct lack of animals on Ramsey St these days. We used to have dogs, cats, reptiles, sheep, chooks, parrots, cockatoos, even the odd horse.

RTKangaMummy · 23/06/2016 00:37

I think Jack/John was on his way to/from a religious retreat hence why nobody was missing him from the parish

I think he was a boiler worker/handy man before he became a priest

I also think he had been told something in the confessional booth about the explosion plans from the White suit woman

tobee · 23/06/2016 01:35

What about when he tried to deck Tyler? Maybe he's a ninja priest?

Btw Dr Clive. He did something with puppets, didn't he? My mum had a massive crush on him.

Lovewineandchocs · 23/06/2016 08:49

He was a gorillagram too. I loved Clive! 😀

MagpieCursedTea · 23/06/2016 08:52

Best twisty in Neighbours for a long time. Still a lot of unanswered questions though. I didn't think we'd find out who caused the explosion until today so surprised they revealed it was Julie yesterday. She confessed pretty quickly when she saw Father Jack. I'm looking forward to finding out what their connection was, confession maybe?

MiddleClassProblem · 23/06/2016 08:56

Why is it the doctors role to have silly hobbies and a comedic job on the side?

Asheth · 23/06/2016 11:01

If the connection between Father Jack and Julie is through confession that means she confessed before the explosion. And doesn't really explain what he was doing in the boiler room.

Clawdy · 23/06/2016 11:32

I got mixed up, for some reason I thought it was Therese who bribed the witness. Kept waiting for her to be arrested. Didn't she do something dodgy to get Paul convicted?

MagpieCursedTea · 23/06/2016 13:03

Therese bribed someone to say that Paul had told them he caused the explosion.

Maybe Julie confessed to Father Jack, then he went to try and fix the boiler (and called that boiler company he recognised) which would explain why he was in the boiler room?

IthoughtATMwasacashpoint · 23/06/2016 14:08

Interesting couple of days. I'm warming to Piper - nice slap. I have one wish though. I just really wish they had cast someone a bit more menacing as Gary Channing. He looks like a benevolent hamster. I can't believe him as the threatening type at all.

MiddleClassProblem · 23/06/2016 15:12

Benevolent hamster Grin

ASpiderInThebath · 23/06/2016 17:04

See, I thought it was Julie quill a while back but then after the trial they showed jacka on the phone telling the mystery person 'Paul got 18 years' (or whatever it was) so then I thought it can't be Julie as she was at the trial so already knew! Also, how did mark make the link to jacka? Spencer was at the station and mark asked if he'd ever seen this guy aka jacka and Spencer's memory came back at the sight of him. BUT HOW DID MARK KNOW JACKA WAS INVOLVED??? Sorry to shout but it's annoyed me how ridiculous this whole storyline has been, nothing fits together!

ASpiderInThebath · 23/06/2016 17:05

Sorry, by Spencer I mean John Doe or Father Jack or whatever his name is!

PandasRock · 23/06/2016 17:22

And where does (the conveniently vanished) Ned fit into it all - he was talking to Jacka about it all (how did he even know him?!)

As you say, nothing at all about this storyline fits. I don't mind ridiculous neighbours plots (how many times can Toady be paralysed and miraculously walk again? How many times can Karl and Susan get divorced and remarry? How many orphans/general homeless teens can pitch up in one small cul de sac and get taken in? Etc) but this one is beyond ludicrous.

Lovewineandchocs · 23/06/2016 17:55

I think Mark showed Ben and Xanthe a photo of Julie Quill-weird as surely they'd know her?- then Ben said he had seen her talking to a "guy" then obviously gave a good description of Jacka. Mark then probably pulled an old police mugshot of Jacka's-or a pic from when they all got pissed at the motel, who knows?! 😀 and showed that to John/Jack, which triggered his memory. Ned seems to know Jacka through the biker gang he used to be in, unless there is a huge alternative back story yet to come.

PandasRock · 23/06/2016 18:39

But Ned and Jacka were talking about the bombing, weren't they? There were a couple of furtive phone calls, before Med forgot about his gang background because he fell in love with his dad's girlfriend... (and that's before getting back into how Ned and Jacka are both part of the same hugely widespread biker gang, with no prior mention of Jacka's gangland past (always been a biker, but no hint of major criminal activity until now) and no precious biker involvement from Ned - teen gang warfare, yes, bikes no.)

Lovewineandchocs · 23/06/2016 19:22

I thought his tattoo was described as being the emblem of a well-known biker gang? And I think they were only talking about the explosion in the context of Ned planning to leave town because Brad thought he did it.
