Starting a new thread ready for the dramas of next week.

Can't believe I'll be on holiday when the all the excitement is going on. That was seriously bad planning.

If Paul dies then I'm not coming home.

My wish list for death: Amy, her son, her mum, Sonya, Ben & Steph.

Jade is not Walters but tbh, Jade didn't even look the same ethnicity as Sonya so no idea why they didn't try and explain that (the actress is half Thai). It is as very much "you're good looking, you'll do" rather than attempting to create any kind of family continuity. Neighbours used to love that but they have got a little better.

half-sisters or half-brethren do not automatically think the same or like the same things - maybe if they were twins ? but then this is neighbours.
I also thought about Jade - who disappeared somewhere like the USA because she invented 'something' (what it was escapes me) and she dumped Kyle.
But she was the younger sister - so assume she had a differant father from the very annoying Walter (his mannerisms and speech set my teeth on edge).

Jade would still be Walter's niece, so probably an idea to test her as well. If time is so short, wouldn't they want to test as many people as possible? And wouldn't a cousin be as likely a possibility as a half-niece?

but if Walter is Sonya's father - but not Jade's that means Jade is Sonya's half-sister.
Walter's daughter with cancer is therefore no biological link to Jade as both her parents are no relation to Jade at all.
I still see Callum as their best hope - but no-one mentions him - he went to America not outer space

I know who he is... his name is Spencer & he left Summer Bay to reconnect with his parents... Not sure how he ended up in Erinsborough though...

I cried at Angus & Susan. Didn't help that I'd just watched an overly emotional Home & Away & I'm already hormonal!

But
if uncle walter had already contacted all members on both sides he would have been in contact with Jade (who is his niece)
and
he could have remained Uncle Walter to Sonya and still tried to get a test done - there was no need to reveal he was her father unless he hoped it would give him an edge in persuading her if she was a match

I think overthinking. It's neighbours. The script meeting probably went "what if he has another daughter who needs some kind of transplant" "and what if Sonya gets tested but she's not a match" "what about Nell?" High fives all round then head out for a BBQ and a tinny

Thought the unveiling of the plaque was a bit of a damp squib. I know it was meant to be low key but surely they could have done better than a bit of sticky back plastic for the covering.

I actually lol'd when they revealed his identity! Is Julie Catholic? Maybe she confessed to him what she was planning, he'd gone to talk her out of it & she was worried he might go to the police? Doesn't explain why no-one was looking for him, or why photo-bloke ran from Mark!

I suspect, after much soul-searching angst, that Jack will leave the priesthood to be with Paige. Wasn't Susan involved with a priest for a while? Tom, I think! Jack & Paige will split up eventually but not before she "converts" & becomes an even more insufferable goody-goody. Once they split up & he goes back to the church she'll lose her faith & go crying to Mark. He'll have split up with Steph over not having DC but Paige will now be deemed mature enough & will want to have kids. They'll move away after he gets a fabulous job offer. The Brennan house will be rather full at this point anyway after Piper moves in because she's fallen out with her parents over Tyler. All this will happen in the next 2 months...
