the last thread got to 1000 (took 2 and a half YEARS Grin )

So:
Paddy and Rhona off to Germany with Marlons blessing.
Why did Rhona say "Pretend you fell off a horse" to explain his bruise. He's a Vet. He could've been kicked by any sort of animal, he's the most unlikely equestrian ever.

Eric- something going on with him. Not just a touch of dodgy tummy, I reckon he'll have something serious and bowel related (a slow burn storyline )

Holly- can't stick her, whiney irritating little twerp.

Charity, you are not the hottest thing to walk the Dales. Go Away.

Ashley Sad

Chrissie/Andy/Robert .
Chrissie and Robert are talking . Is there going to be another Sudgen Brother Love Triangle? (Yawn)

John Middleton is playing the part so well that it is almost unbearable to watch. Brilliant stuff. Emma is the b1tch from hell, brilliant acting. I hate what has been done to Charity's character. She has become pathetic, IMO, which I hate to see.

slalomsuki · 07/11/2016 19:41

I disagree that the actor playing Ashley is doing the part well. I have had two close relatives with progressive dementia and neither pulled a puzzled face when trying to remember something they had been reminded of, they simply didn't know. Both were at the stage he is supposed to be when day care was kicking in and we needed help. They were more likely to hit out in frustration than look puzzled.

loinnir · 09/11/2016 12:35

Couldn't they find some elderly extras to populate the care centre? Laurel was going on about how everyone was 20 years older than Ashley when everyone we saw looked the same age as Ashley. Amazing how many care centres, care homes and Alzhemier groups there are near a small rural Yorkshire village! (but no MH facilities )

JaneJeffer · 09/11/2016 14:40

I was in tears watching Ashley the other night. It's such an awful disease.

Pete can switch on my lights any time...those eyes!

loinnir · 10/11/2016 10:06

More elastic houses that the soaps are so fond of - how come Belle will have her own bedroom at Dan's? It is a tiny cottage - how come it now has 5 bedrooms? none of the children were told they would be sharing. Those cottages originally had 2 bedrooms - now they all seem to be 3 -4 bedroom + with titchy downstairs. Where did everyone sleep in Andy's old flat when all the Barton's lived there? Just ridiculous.

CaptainHammer · 10/11/2016 15:47

Can't wait for Emma to be found out, horrible woman!

slalomsuki I work with people who have dementia and it's definitely an illness that's different for everyone. The way they've written Ashley's dementia and how it's acted is similar to some people I've worked with but equally different to others.

He is acting it well and it's difficult to watch.

JaneJeffer · 11/11/2016 00:24

The guy Finn is visiting in hospital might have seen Emma on the bridge. If he wakes up! Poor Finn is lonely isn't he? Very funny scenes with him and Aaron.

Diane was hilarious with her Fr. Ted style protest and throwing the brick and scuttling off. I don't know if those scenes were meant to be funny or not but I laughed so much Grin

YouHadMeAtCake · 11/11/2016 04:15

Belle drives me mad as does Rebecca who I couldn't stand in the Inbetweeners as Carly.

loinnir · 12/11/2016 14:33

I detest the current Kerry story - out of control Kerry being pimped or pimping herself (couldn't bear to listen too closely) to creepy factory client. It is beyond awful on so many levels.Fed up now with the Lawrence/Chrissy/Diane story - they need to wrap it up. and the snoozefest that is Victoria and Adam - I really want a bay-bee! Who cares!

Emmerdale a bit crazy/dull this week after the heights of the great crash which seems all but forgotten.

eatdrinkandbemarysfairy · 12/11/2016 16:28

i know this is off topic but that couple in between the adds where the woman picks up the massive chip and the kid nicks something off her dads plate well they look really pissed off with each other, yeah i know its just a snapshot but they dont look happy at all compared to the other families

and back to emmerdale i reckon victoria is going to find out shes pregnant christmas day

oh the excitement

Jojoanna · 12/11/2016 22:36

I agree re the Kerry story line . Uncomfortable viewing

DanyellasDonkey · 12/11/2016 22:38

It's quite shit at the moment actually. The whole Diane and the Whites thing is very pantomimey, as is the Kerry business. The endless boring Bartons and their loopy mum is tedious, Not a lot to make me watch quite honestly.

HandbagCrazy · 14/11/2016 13:40

I'm not enjoying it at the moment either. It's lost a lot of the thing that made it enjoyable - the comic moments in between the drama. Marlon used to be funny, so did Sam, not
To mention Betty, but it's all serious now.

I think the Lawrence rubbish needs to be tied up with them leaving the village then Home Farm needs to be bought either by a commune type thing or lottery winners. It's boring, the rich families that buy it always end up killing people.

Is Dianne leaving soon? Her stories and acting have gone downhill massively.
And I miss Andy!

Still love Ross though - he's like the new Cain.

Pastamancer · 14/11/2016 16:13

Yes Diane's acting was shocking which made me wonder if she was ill

DanyellasDonkey · 15/11/2016 19:57

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse .............. {shock]

jbee664 · 15/11/2016 20:11

Panto!

ellenanora5 · 15/11/2016 21:07

God it's so bloody boring and predictable at the moment, if Bernice and Jimmy start something I'm never watching again.

And they need to get rid of the whole lot at home farm and the ridiculous storylines since they arrived.

eatdrinkandbemarysfairy · 16/11/2016 08:04

its gone really shit, its like the writers cant be bothered to put any effort in the story lines. kerry s diabetis [sp] never mentioned surely eating all that chocolate would not be good for her, it would of been more reallistic if jai had found her unconscious, she can get hold of a neck brace and wheel chair just like that and where is she suppose to be living to get all cleaned up.
robert and beccy, jimmy and bernice both verging on affairs
boring

loinnir · 16/11/2016 09:12

eatdrink that was exactly what my gang were saying last night - dire. FGS Kerry nearly went blind last year from not managing her diabetes and now she is out getting pissed etc again with no ill effect. I think her actions would be held up as gross misconduct. The factories in the soaps are just so unrealistic.

I think Kerry is sleeping in whatever is at the top of the spiral stairs in the salon.

Is Megan's baby ok then - I thought that when she was born that Megan said the baby had serious and ongoing mental and development problems?

These dark nights are prime soap watching time but the writers of both Emmerdale and CS are letting us down!

Rachel0Greep · 16/11/2016 12:28

I only watch occasionally now after a number of years of finding it almost unmissable. Ah well.

MeDented · 16/11/2016 12:34

I thought exactly the same thing about Diane last night. Shocking acting, somethings not right! She has never been fantastic but that was truly amateurish

DanyellasDonkey · 16/11/2016 17:24

As November is diabetes awareness month, I fully expected there to be some consequences of Kerry's actions but no, just more far-fetched pantomimey rubbish. Seriously rubbish at the moment.

I particularly can't stand any of the Whites - the girls can't act and the whole family seem to get away with everything just because they have loads of money,

Eastie77 · 17/11/2016 17:34

Diane's acting has always been shocking. She always seem to wail when she speaks.

deloresclaiborne · 22/11/2016 07:25

victoria gagging for sex because shes desparate for a baby ffs she only decided 2 weeks ago she wanted one, no wonder he fucks off to the jungleGrin

TheLegendOfBeans · 22/11/2016 20:19

delores 😂

Actually really enjoyed the tete-a-tete between Paddy and Pierce. Pierce does indeed have the hallmarks of a nutter but I really don't want him and Rhona to break up.

Plus it was totally Kerry that put Joanies name on the slip of paper...
