the last thread got to 1000 (took 2 and a half YEARS Grin )

So:
Paddy and Rhona off to Germany with Marlons blessing.
Why did Rhona say "Pretend you fell off a horse" to explain his bruise. He's a Vet. He could've been kicked by any sort of animal, he's the most unlikely equestrian ever.

Eric- something going on with him. Not just a touch of dodgy tummy, I reckon he'll have something serious and bowel related (a slow burn storyline )

Holly- can't stick her, whiney irritating little twerp.

Charity, you are not the hottest thing to walk the Dales. Go Away.

Ashley Sad

Chrissie/Andy/Robert .
Chrissie and Robert are talking . Is there going to be another Sudgen Brother Love Triangle? (Yawn)

i thought the same eastie, and how can she be stoned one minute the phones rings and shes okdidnt work like that when i was a youth

Rachel0Greep · 28/06/2016 18:06

And she was standing mere feet away from Victoria and Adam on the phone one evening talking to what I presume is her dealer, yawn!

Smidge001 · 28/06/2016 19:05

Oh dear. What has happened to the writers?? Emmerdale used to be funny. They seem to keep trying but what was that with David and him yelling Tower-masalata as it fell over? Cringe worthy.

ellenanora5 · 28/06/2016 20:05

So absolutely no one, no one at all heard that big explosion yet they are all about two minutes walk away, and what a convenient way to get rid of Ronnie, and what's the betting Bernice blames Lawernce for the fire.

Emmerdale, you can do much better, and you have done so get the finger out, knuckle down and get on with it, because if I end up having to watch hollyoaks I'll start writing my own soap opera Smile

Rachel0Greep · 29/06/2016 08:26

Emmerdale is slipping, in the last while, IMO.

I don't know if it is thanks to the new producer or maybe different writers. I didn't watch last night's episode yet. But, really, another explosion...and fire.

It's repetitive, to say the least.

southeastdweller · 29/06/2016 11:04

Emmerdale was firing on all cylinders this time last year but now the writing feels patchy and uninspired.

I felt the fire scenes were lacking in tension and jeopardy and I don't find Rakesh's reasons for starting the fire at all convincing.

I've read a spoiler about Belle for next week. It's very dull and has been done in soaps a million times before Hmm

Rachel0Greep · 29/06/2016 11:21

It has become very repetitive, as if the writers / producers cannot think of anything new to do with the characters.

2ManySweets · 29/06/2016 12:39

SEDweller linky please (bitly to hide the link headline) x

southeastdweller · 29/06/2016 19:26

Belle spoiler here

2ManySweets · 29/06/2016 23:47

😘😘😘

seasidesally · 30/06/2016 19:33

why is Rakesh now being called Rak by Pria its doing my head in

ellenanora5 · 30/06/2016 22:33

Rodney needs a haircut, badly, he looks ridiculous.

pussinasda · 01/07/2016 07:59

rodney looks like a porn star yuk

seasidesally · 01/07/2016 14:12

oh yeah, rodney slimey and creepy as hell

and the ponytail

Rachel0Greep · 01/07/2016 15:19

Jimmy annoyed me in the hospital scenes. I know he is portrayed as a buffoon, but even he would surely know better than to start shouting 'something went wrong in the operation, didn't it'. Yes, that is very reassuring for poor Nicola!

Was glad to see him attack Rakesh though. Can't stand Rakesh since he and Kirin plotted to swindle Jimmy, in the first place, over buying his house. Kirin ran away from justice, after killing Tess, and Rakesh aided and abetted him to do so. Also, why would he send that spoiled brat Kirin twenty grand, just like that. So, if he gets a few punches, they are overdue!

ellenanora5 · 01/07/2016 22:42

So Laurel is drinking again, surprise surprise, Ashley has forgotten she's an alcoholic, fair enough I suppose, but the real shocker is that Jake is 13... THIRTEEN, I thought he was about 15/16

I really like Dan, think he is great Grin

I can't stand Rakesh either, never liked him.

Rachel0Greep · 02/07/2016 12:09

It is a bit more realistic that she would start drinking again, I think, compared to Rhona's drug addiction, which disappeared without a trace.

I know it wouldn't make good soap drama, (and I think John Middleton is playing the part brilliantly), but I wish that Ashley and Laurel could live happily ever after...

southeastdweller · 02/07/2016 20:19

I think it's realistic that Laurel would start drinking again, sooner or later. I'm looking forward to next week's episodes because of this story as they handled it well last year and Charlotte Bellamy was outstanding as Laurel.

Gabby pisses me off to high heaven. Bernice and Ashley are too soft with her!

ellenanora5 · 02/07/2016 21:45

She is a fantastic actress no doubt about that, I still get very emotional when I remember her scenes after Daniel died, she is brilliant.

Yep too soft on Gabby, she gets away with saying the most horrible things to people.

Rachel0Greep · 03/07/2016 00:57

Agree re Charlotte Bellamy, excellent actress, IMO.

Jojoanna · 03/07/2016 07:50

Jimmy is a terrible actor and the way he says nico nico puts my teeth on edge.

2ManySweets · 03/07/2016 08:15

NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECO

Abominablebride · 03/07/2016 08:25

Finding it all a bit too depressing at the minute.
Bored bored bored of the Whites but was reading they are heading for another pivotal storyline - yawn
They are trying to play out too many big storylines together. Ashley's dementia, Laurels pregnancy/alcoholism, David's cancer now Nicola being paralysed.
We need some humour back please writers

DanyellasDonkey · 03/07/2016 17:30

Agree it is all rather dark at the moment

Don't get why Jimmy calls Nicola, Nico - never heard of that before - normally it would be Nicky

Rachel0Greep · 06/07/2016 20:50

Can't summon up much interest in the Dales these nights. I think the actors and actresses are doing their best, as usual ( well, except Holly...), but it's poorly written / produced.
