Just saw we were dangerously close to filling the last thread so have taken the liberty as starting this one.

Ah yes, Christopher Plummer as the Captain does things to me too.

Ida - Those pictures are amazing! He looks better out of his dog collar!

I don't believe the no chummy though. It's all a bit too weird.

LineyReborn · 06/03/2016 21:00

Oh God it's like Hilda with Stan's glasses.

Hulababy · 06/03/2016 21:00

I'd like to think Chummy and Jenny were at the church, waiting to say goodbye.

whyistherumgone · 06/03/2016 21:02

That was too much...off to soothe myself with Tom Hiddlestone's mesmerising beauty - switches to the night manager thread

diddl · 06/03/2016 21:03

It was all done so well, wasn't it?

I thought Delia's mum came across really well in that & tbh I didn't like Patsy.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 06/03/2016 21:03

It is, Liney.

Right, got to pull myself together ready for Dr Thorne now.

Gosh what an episode.......

I cried
Dh cried

And it's all now finished.

I thought Mrs busby was a bit of a bitch actually and I praised Patsy for what she said.
The mum has held Delia back so much it's been awful

GinIsIn · 06/03/2016 21:07

Oh Neal St Productions, you utter, utter BASTARDS. The shoes got me too!

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 06/03/2016 21:08

Patsy's a bit controlling.

Delia could've told her mother herself that she wanted her birth certificate, was going to Paris with Patsy and was a lesbian.

Delia's traded one overbearing woman for another.

OldCrowMedicineShow · 06/03/2016 21:09

Oh God, the entire family all sobbing including huge dh whilst the littlest is passing round the tissues.

The nuns and midwives were so loved and respected in real life.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 06/03/2016 21:09

Agree KingJoffrey. Patsy is starting to grate on me.

"Delia's traded one overbearing woman for another."

Yes!

NeedACleverNN · 06/03/2016 21:09

Dunno..delia has tried telling her and has been steam rolled too many times. I think she's frightened of her mum a little bit.

picklesauage · 06/03/2016 21:11

Ahh see I see the patsy thing like his.

If patsy had been a man and was speaking to Mrs busby that way no one would raise an eyebrow. In fact it would probably be a comfort to Mrs busby go know delis was being so well protected and cared for.

I see patsy as showing Mrs busby hat she can do as well for delia as any man would.

DMCWelshCakes · 06/03/2016 21:13

I cried so hard I've given myself a headache. That was the saddest episode in a long time. I'd just about got myself together until Sister Monica Joan appeared with the shoes.

Sad Sad Sad

Alfieisnoisy · 06/03/2016 21:13

Beautifully done. I guess Pam Ferris has other work hence the break and now this. Love her as an actress and guess she gets inundated with work.

Oh but the shoes.....oh that finished me.

KnockMeDown · 06/03/2016 21:13

I thought that was an exceptionally moving and powerful episode, made more so because it was quite understated. Sr Evangelina just went to sleep, the light heartedNess of the wedding planning and her dress being used, the shoes. ...

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 06/03/2016 21:15

The shoes looked a bit too new.

Would've been better if they'd looked more 'broken in'.

MrsJayy · 06/03/2016 21:17

Is everybody ok (hug) was a lovely episode i am sobbed out proper sobs -and snot- wasnt expecting sister evangelina at all

Hulababy · 06/03/2016 21:18

And Tom and Barbara never did get their evening in, did they?

thefemaleJoshLyman · 06/03/2016 21:18

Been lurking for a while. That was so sad on many levels, just want to cuddle DC. Sad

Behooven · 06/03/2016 21:19

I cry at weddings, funerals and babies - all three together was just unbelievable. Sad

Pebble21uk · 06/03/2016 21:19

Delia has always been the forceful one in their relationship... except when it comes to her mother! I think Patsy was just showing her that she can stand up for their relationship too, when necessary.

Can we please have a campaign to make Jenny Agutter a Dame! Anyone who can go so convincingly between laughter and tears needs some national recognition!

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 06/03/2016 21:20

They didn't really tackle the lady in the cafe drinking alcohol in the day.

Is she still there? Or has she now had 'closure'.

MrsJayy · 06/03/2016 21:23

I love Patsy i dont think she is controlling at all just stands up for delia Delias mum knows about them
