And on a subject such as that, words fail me.

Eileen hit the nail on the head tonight when she told Phelan he was more her type than Michael. Her pairing with Michael was implausible and silly - I'm glad they've split up, he dragged her down.

No. She is wrong to prefer a rapist. It's implausible: why believe him, not Anna who she has known for years?

And even though we know she's got dreadful taste in men, I thought they wouldn't go that low even for her.

At least the story is dragging itself out. It's odd Eileen not to believe Anna, it's not like she's a sex pest who throws herself at everyone going. Plus Gary could confirm CVTV story too. Still it will be interesting to watch.

So Phelen currently threatening Anna , Michael, tried to do over Kevin possible doing slow job on Jason business. Who I missed out?

Anna's story is implausible because it sounds so far-fetched and even she's confused about whether he raped or not.

Tonight's was ridiculous.

No one would make up a story like that. Eileen would at least have had alarm bells ringing, she has only known Phelan 5 minutes.

Eileen is not that stupid. Why do the writers think we'll put up with this crap?

Agree that Eileen and Michael were one of the least plausible pairings ever. And that Eileen's reaction to Anna was totally out of character and ridiculous.

Eileen's conversation with Anna was totally unrealistic for her character.

I got the impression that Eileen, one of the most cynical characters in the show, was sceptical of Anna's story rather than categorically disbelieving her.

She ought to have been equally sceptical of Phelan's then.

After all, she was there, right next door, when all this was happening. Anna having a willing affair? All the misery of that time? Especially given Eileens's personal history with Owen?

Surely Eileen would be far more sceptical of Phelan than Anna? Or are the writers just ignoring the back stories again.

(and agree that a rape storyline should not be handled like this).

Phelan didn't say it was an affair, though.

I think Eileen fancies the arse off Phelan and it's colouring her judgement a little.

Ugh. Corrie just changes people's characters to fit storylines.
Roll on April, hopefully we will see better storylines, properly handled.

Can I say how adorable Derek Griffiths is? I hope they keep him.

I like Derek Griffiths, yes.

But I'm probably not going to be watching this offensive Eileen/Anna storyline play out.

I really hope they're not setting up a May to December thing with Kylie and Derek Griffiths.

What age is Zeedan supposed to be? I thought he was about 18.

But Alya and her friend must be 23/24?

Corriepaedia says born circa 1997, so you're about right Nugget as that makes him 19ish.

I think there's more to Alya's friend, and not in a good way.

Did she get the job in the surgery can't be arsed to find out.

Maybe he just looks too young for her. He looks about 12.

Can't see the point of the Derek Griffiths character unless he's going to be part of a love triangle story with Ken and Audrey.

I'm the polar opposite, as I hope he won't be. There is so much more that a new character can bring other than sexual shennanigans with an established resident. Loads of ways this could go, and it's an opportunity for measured character development.

As he is arriving just as the new team does, I hope the tiresome and rather unbelievable Ken/Audrey still will be forgotten.

I did wonder that when Audrey was all smiles on meeting him but then I thought he's just lost his wife. I hope it's not a slow burning thing with Kylie which results in her leaving.
