Agreed, complete nonsense, and the producers / writers keep piling on more, so no story is properly done. Plus they, more often than not, put someone centre stage who is incapable of carrying a storyline, while better actors / actresses are sidelined.

Poor Tim's going to get the blame now for everything that goes wrong with the rotas etc at Streetcars, when they've somehow been getting by for months with no one in charge at all

HATE it how they start these half-baked 'storylines' then just leave them suspended in mid air. Off the top of my head:

Audrey/angina/telling Ken she loved him

Sarah has bun in oven

Body under garage conversion/Gail wants underfloor heating

Polish migrant with dubious slave story stealing cheese sandwiches

Mary heartbroken over Roy Chubby Brown

Tyrone owes stupid amounts of money to payday loans

Emily gone to live with alpaca community among Inca ruins

Totally agree what's happening with

Dev love life

Gary's new job at the gym

New conner on/off slept with Ex barmaid

Erica high flyer ends up at local shop flogging drugs as side line

Faye and baby

Craig and his girl friend

Too many stories going on at the same time, and so many just left in mid-air. I'd completely forgotten the Audrey/Ken/angina thread.

Agreed about half baked storylines. Writers seem to be unable to flesh out realistic storylines, so just keep piling in more nonsense.

Yep I was wondering about Jenny too. Threatening Sally etc and then just disappearing.

had a memory jolt last night - at some point in the late 1960s/1970s they ran a story line about two locals (can't remember who) running for election to local council. At the count they had both received the same number of votes, and issues settled by toss of a coin (can't remember who won). Does anyone remember more details. I wonder if they will resurrect this story line with the same outcome

Yes, I remember Deirdre running for the council too. Was it against Alf? Mmm...I dunno. Alf was Mayor, though, when he died, and st some point I think Deirdre was actually a councillor too, for a while.

Deirdre was either a councillor or worked for the council, people were always trying to get her to pull strings with planning permission etc.

I think it was in the 80s, not the 60/70s though.

They stood against each other, Deirdre unexpectedly won. Alf had his first heart attack on losing (for which Deirdre blamed herself terribly). But then went on a better living regime, recovered fine and went on to win a seat at the next election. Yes he was also Mayor.

Dierdre was definitely a councillor. Ken mentiobed it to Sally. So was Audrey and of course Alf.

He mentioned it. She saud she wanted it forgotten as ppl say all sorts when they are not well. Ken looked at her like it would keep for the time being but is not forgotten.

The Izzy story is hardly credible. She goes to a strange pub somewhere away from Weatherfield (on the bus?); she straightaway meets someone who sells her 'cannabis', but when she gets home she discovers it is oregano. Who on earth carries around little packets of oregano in case some stranger wants to buy cannabis? And what time of day does all this take place? Is Izzie off work? Moreover, when the family came for a meal where was Jake? No mention of him, yet they ate early enough to get the washing-up done and still have time for Faye to get home to do her homework.

Agreed eddie, though I admit I didn't bother watching. Yet another poorly thought out storyline. It annoyed me, in the first place, that the night Izzy got hurt, there was no mention of getting her checked by a doctor.
Then Erica suddenly befriends her. Had they ever interacted, in the slightest way, before that!

Of course the medical centre had disappeared for years until Alya's friend, (I gather), is now conveniently getting a job there.

Think Izzy now works part time as she had Gary wanted put Jake first. Would make sense for single parent to work 16h as prob gets as much as full time. Which why is annoying in other soaps like Eastenders when all single parents work full time because need the money!

When Kylie had all Agro at the pub it took array of cabs back n forth but least gloss over that and Izzy just got the bus! Was annoyed at Gary leaving her to wash up when he could see she was in more pain than usual. Stuff that - go have a rest!

Who in God's name carries packets of herbs around to dodgy pubs incase someone happens to ask them for weed and they can palm them off with it??!! That is ridiculous.

Jake had already been put down for the night Izzy mentioned it when Anna etc all arrived but what time must he go to bed? 6?!
