I think he would make a good James Bond. Yummy.

Just watching.

How great to have no Alice!

Hopefully Megan did kill her!

Seems a bit daft to have a theme of sociopathic female killing for Luther!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/12/2015 16:39

Havnt read any replies as just watching part 1 now but love Luther but have to say didn't think part 1 was that good :(

And yes all the blue lights would have warned him Hmm

What made him look behind the fridge? In the vent?

And weird Luther just agrees to come back after the ending of s3

Will read up to first week replies lol and then go and watch part 2

MyFriendsCallMeOh · 26/12/2015 16:47

I thought the "meep meep" was from an earlier series when Alice said the police were Wylie coyote and she was roadrunner and added "meep meep"

Lulooo · 26/12/2015 21:06

Idris is too good for Bond.
Alice was captivating right from the start. So was Ripley. The two new females (the detective and the trench coat wearing lady (I'm rubbish at names) both seem quite bland in comparison.

Caught up with this last night - I didn't think it was as good as previous series

It really annoyed me that they built up the killing of the mother and son (luring the son home) and dressing up in her clothes but then suddenly it was onto his ex 'Catherine' and her family and we never saw the police to discover them or anything... I don't understand why they built it up so much to leave it hanging like that...

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/12/2015 23:30

seen part 2, didnt think was much good

is alice def dead?have we seen a body

muddymary · 30/12/2015 07:33

I can't believe that Alice is dead. I love idris but Alice is one of my favourite characters on TV - she's hilarious.

EachandEveryone · 30/12/2015 10:55

I just don't think the actor would be allowed in two major shows don't they have it written into their contract?

gingercat12 · 10/01/2016 17:01

Just watched episode 2.

I would happily watch Idris Elba read the phone book live on tv, but come on, people, someone, please write a proper story for him.

EachandEveryone · 10/01/2016 19:01

Aren't they making a film next? She will come back for that I bet.

Lulooo · 12/01/2016 20:29

I just rewatched season 1-3 and now I'm sad all over again for Ripley. Sad

Actually, I'm really, really sad. He was such a fantastic man. And the perfect friend to Luther. 'This is my friend, Justin. I love him', he said, when introducing him to Mary. Sob. He was perfect. Sob, again.
And he was a Northerner too. How perfect could he get. wails.

gingercat12 · 13/01/2016 08:43

I miss Justin and the episodes when Luther lived in that high-rise and slept in his crumpled coat.

HalleLouja · 29/01/2016 10:57

Justin was a great character. The perfect antidote to Luther. We all loved him too. I may have sobbed when he died.

David Bowie references are because Luther is a big fan (Genny got him a framed signed picture in series two).
The Meep Meep is a running thing between Luther and Alice. After he breaks her out of the secure hospital, she says that the police are after her like Wiley Coyote and she is the road runner, meep meep!
When she is on the run she sends him a postcard with the road runner on.
Really felt the lack of Alice in these two episodes.

Benny: What did she say?
Luther: Lets set her on fire.
Another classic Alice line: Some girls grow up dreaming about ponies. I always wanted to be a widow.
Or something like that.
